Araxi Lindsey — Department Head of Hair on Black-ish, The High Note

Our guest this week is Araxi Lindsey-Mother of Two and Motion Picture Hair Artist (Local 706) who resides in Los Angeles, CA. 

Araxi was born and raised in Los Angeles, and we go full force into how she went from working at Disneyland in her teens, to aspiring to be a Teen Counselor, then moving directions into Trade school for Cosmetology. 

One of our favorite quotes from her interview comes when she tells us, “ I didn’t know exactly what I was saying yes to...” when she took her first Production/Side job outside the salon. Araxi has travelled the world with clients-raised two children-all the while making a huge mark in our Industry-being a key component in the “Natural Hairstyle” Movement that has been a long time coming and is now shared on Film and Television. 

Her son also joins in at the end to share, “She’s always worked and I’ve always know her to work, I love and respect her for that.” Thank you, Araxi! Her motto is “If you stay ready you don’t have to get ready!” We concur!! Xx GFP Gals
