NASA’s Moonbase Plans Are Getting Real… For good and for worse.

Humanity's return to the Moon is entering a new phase. NASA has announced the crew for Artemis III and outlined its latest plans to land astronauts on the lunar surface by the end of 2028. 🌕👨‍🚀

But that's not the only headline.

NASA is also rebranding parts of its lunar exploration program, referring to upcoming robotic missions as "Moonbase" missions, a signal that the agency is thinking beyond brief visits and toward a long-term human presence on the Moon. 🛰️🏗️

It's an ambitious vision. But is it realistic?

Can Artemis III actually meet its proposed timeline? And are these missions truly about science and exploration, or are they laying the groundwork for something much bigger?

In this episode of Kainaati Comment, astrophysicist and astronomy professor Dr. Salman Hameed examines the latest developments in NASA's lunar program and offers a critical perspective on what comes next:

✅ Who is expected to fly on Artemis III 👨‍🚀
✅ NASA's latest roadmap for returning humans to the Moon 🌕
✅ Why the term "Moonbase" matters 🏗️
✅ The technological and political challenges facing Artemis 🚀
✅ Whether the 2028 landing goal is achievable

🧠 The future of lunar exploration isn't just about reaching the Moon again—it's about deciding what humanity wants to do once it gets there.

Will we see a permanent human presence on the Moon in our lifetime, or are expectations running ahead of reality?
