Welcome to this inaugural episode of the Mind Full Medic Podcast. I am your host Dr Cheryl Martin, an Emergency Physician with a particular interest in the all encompassing view of health, and the ways in which we move, eat, work, rest, play and engage with each other and our community can positively impact our health, well being and ability to perform at our best.  In this episode I discuss the ways in which movement, exercise and physical activity can be medicine with Dr Brandi Cole, a Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician and fellow of the Australian College of Sports and Exercise Medicine. We discuss her extended role as an SEM doctor, which includes exercise prescription, injury prevention and health advocacy in the wider community including those with existing medical conditions, not just elite athletes. We  also explore the particular challenges we face with restrictions on how and when we move in the current COVID-19 pandemic and it's implications for our physical and mental well being.  This episode provides a broad brush overview of the concept of movement as medicine and I hope that Dr Brandi will return in future episodes to diver deeper into some of the science, art and practical applications of the topics we discuss.

In the meantime you can reach Dr Brandi and her team at :
