Believe Like A Boss
These Seven Questions Help You Hear Yourself Again
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if the fastest way to feel more clear, calm, and confident isn’t another productivity hack, but a few brutally honest questions on paper? This week, I’m sharing a set of journal prompts you can use to check in with your mind, your heart, and the stories running your life.
We start with a big one: if you could blow up your life and start over with no consequences, what would you keep? From there, we move into identity and authenticity. I’ll walk you through prompts to describe your real personality (not the masked version), name what you’re already good at, and notice what you do when you procrastinate. Those patterns can be a window into what you need, what you’re craving, and what you’ve been ignoring, without turning it into self-judgment.
Then we go deeper with definitions. What does it mean to be organized, successful, loved, wealthy, or abundant, according to you? Many of us unknowingly live by definitions we inherited from family or culture, and that can keep us chasing approval instead of building a life that fits. We close with a vulnerable question that opens doors fast: what are you hoping for? If you want journaling prompts for self awareness, mindset shifts, and authentic goal setting, this one is for you.
If you want a safe space to do this kind of growth work, come join us for the next round of The Art of Magnetism.

SPEAKER_01Hello, my friends, and welcome back to another episode of Believe Like a Boss. I am your host, Life Coach, Nadi Camille. I hope you all are doing so well. I hope you had a beautiful weekend. I hope you're feeling great about this week. And if you're not, take a deep breath with me. This too shall pass. I promise it will. And we're going to affirm that that whatever hardship you're going through, it will pass. You will get through it. You have the tools you need to create success as you see success. I'm affirming that, confirming that for you. All right, on the tails of last week. If you didn't listen to last week's episode, we talked about affirmations. What are you affirming? Which is to say, what are you confirming about your life? I hope you're confirming great things and confirming that it's going to be okay, even if things aren't great right
Why Journaling Builds Self Trust
SPEAKER_01now. This week, my friends, I just want to give you all some journal prompts. Just a few journal prompts for you to sit down. Just get in your brain, get in your soul, get in your spirit, see what is happening, get it out of your head and onto some paper. It helps to journal is one of the tools that I use most often, I think, when I'm working with clients for their growth work. I'll check in. They don't always do it. That's okay, right? But the objective is that we set an intention around sitting down and carving out time just for yourself, just for you to sit with you, just for you to love on you, just for you to hold space for you, just for you to make plans for you. It is um it's an action that when we take it, we're showing ourselves that we matter, right? Like food. I know that it seems maybe a little dramatic to compare it to food, but when you eat food, you are showing yourself that you matter, that you want to be alive, that you would like to keep surviving. That's why I'm eating, right? Even if you're eating junk food, you're like, I have sustenance. I'm eating because I want to keep living, right? This is a pretty dramatic comparison, but to journal, right? It's it's to affirm I care about myself. When I sit down and I journal, I'm showing myself that I am worthy of the time and the space and the energy that it takes to sit down and get my head, get my thoughts out of my head and onto paper. It's a little bit dramatic for me to compare it to food. Journaling is not as important as food, but I think it's pretty stinking important, or rather, one of the most important tools you can have in your tool belt. It's super helpful. So I have a few journal prompts for you all. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Technically, number six has like four subsets with it. So we have a handful of journal prompts here. As always, take what sticks to you, leave the rest. You can always pause the podcast too. If journaling is doesn't feel as accessible for you, if you don't want to sit down and write things down, fine. Pause the podcast after each of the questions and just do some self-talk. You can also do this with a friend. Maybe you and a friend get together and you're like, hey, I want to do these questions. This could be a fun thing, you and your partner. It could be like a fun date night. You never know, right? You sit down, you listen to these questions together, and each of you takes turns answering the question, right? There's lots of fun ways to process information. It doesn't always have to be in a journal. My objective here is that you spend some time processing these questions for yourself just to check in. Self-awareness is a superpower. When we are aware of what's going on within us, then we can create change. When we're not aware of what's going on within us, that's often when we're anxious, when we're depressed, we're frustrated. We think we know what's going on within us, but really we're we're cranky and we're telling stories that are not serving us. So I want us to be aware of the stories that are happening, check in, see if these stories are serving us, get rid of the ones that are not, and affirm the ones that are. All right, here we go, my friends.
Prompt One Keep What Matters
SPEAKER_01Your first journal prompt is if you could blow up your life, your whole life, and start over again. And for those of you like, is anybody gonna be harmed in the blowing up of my life? Absolutely not. Nobody's gonna be harmed in the blowing up of your life. If you could hypothetically blow up your life and nobody was harmed, what parts of your life would you keep? Right? If you could blow up your whole life right now, start from scratch. What parts of your current life would you keep? Check in. I love this question. It's such a good question. It really makes it very clear to us what's important to us. Cause like, oh, if I got to blow everything up, oh, I wouldn't go back to this job, I might not go back to this relationship, I would keep this relationship, I would keep those shoes, oh, but I would get rid of that, right? And just notice what comes up for you. If you could blow up your whole life and start again, what parts of your current life would you keep? So good. Here's your next one.
Prompt Two Describe The Real You
SPEAKER_01How would you describe your personality? Now, specifically when you're alone or with people that you know. How would you describe your personality? That's the real you, that's the only you that I care about. I know that we have our like masked versions of us or our like professional versions of us or even just like our genuinely shy versions of us, right? We're not trying to be someone we're not, but sometimes when we go into a setting where we don't know anybody, we're a lot more quiet than we are by ourselves or with our besties that have known us since we were 12 years old, right? So, how would you describe your personality when you are alone slash with people you know? So fun. Again, how would you think about you? When I'm hiring, especially when I'm hiring for a school, I'm hiring teachers. One of the things I love to ask my team is who is your spirit animal or what is your spirit animal? Truly love that question. That's not one of my questions today. But for anybody that's in leadership, anybody that's hiring, love this question because here's why. It seems like a like very like that's a very woo-woo thing to be asking in the workspace. Let me tell you, when somebody comes in, and this has happened before, or I hire them, and I'm like, they're they're a cat. They're giving cat. And then they write to me that they feel like they're a lion. I'm like, oh snap, my perception of them was incorrect. Why did I think cat? Cats are to themselves. Cats are a little bit more quiet, they're a little bit mischievous, but they're really smart. That's why I thought this about this person. Then this person writes back, they're like, I'm a lion, I'm bold and I'm courageous. I said, Oh my gosh, I love the way you see yourself, and I want to see you that way too. It's also such a good tool. My leaders, my business owners, again, when you're hiring and you're looking at your team, if somebody says to you, I'm a turtle, I like to go with the flow, that person's probably a more supportive person versus the parrot, the lion, the even dog. Someone's like, I'm a dog, right? They're like super loyal, they're super exciting. That's gonna help you really truly understand aces in their places. For you personally, though, when you go to and you answer this question, how would you describe your personality? It's really gonna be a chance for you to look at you. Like I would describe myself as silly and fun, effervescent, and have like all these things. And then I want you to zoom out. Would other people in your life describe you that way? Besides you're like super close people. And it's not that other people need to see you that way, but then you get to check in is the way that I'm carrying myself in the world how I want to carry myself? Am I carrying myself authentically? Where am I not carrying myself authentically? Because sometimes we're not. Sometimes it doesn't feel safe, or it is not safe to carry ourselves authentically in certain spaces. So we have to protect ourselves. That makes sense. But this question allows us to check in, hmm, how do I describe myself? Do I really show up that way in the world? Do I want to be more silly even though I say I'm silly? Do I want to be less silly? Just notice everything that comes up when you describe your own personality to yourself. There might be a part of you that's like, dang, I haven't actually been showing up that way. Or there might be a part of you that's like, oh my gosh, I love me. This is great. Just check in. Mindfulness is awareness without judgment. We're here to be aware, we're not here to judge. Here's your next question.
Prompt Three Name Your Strengths
SPEAKER_01What are you really good at? What are you really good at? I love all of these questions, honestly. I wrote them all. I came up with them. And I love this one because we spend so much time thinking about what we're not good at. We spend so much time going to the place of, oh, I'm not there yet, or I can be proud of myself once I hit this benchmark. What are you really good at? I know you know, you just probably haven't been thinking about it in a little while. You've been thinking about all the things that you want to get better at, but what are you really good at right now? And don't say nothing. Nothing is not a valid answer. I will not accept that answer. What are you really good at? Here's your next one.
Prompt Four Decode Procrastination
SPEAKER_01When you procrastinate, what do you do? When you procrastinate, when you're supposed to be doing something and you don't want to do the thing, what are you doing instead? Just notice. I love this one because I don't remember where I learned it, but somebody I learned this from. The thing that you're going to do to procrastinate doesn't mean you need to monetize it. That's not where I'm going. But there might be something there, right? If you spend all of your time when you're supposed to be writing reports or answering emails looking at vacation spots, check in. When's the last time you went on a vacation? If you're like, I just went on a vacation, I'm looking up another one. Maybe it's deeper than that. Maybe you have a love of designing travel plans or putting travel packages together. Again, my brain, this is my brain. My brain likes to monetize so much. Does not mean you have to monetize it, but I really do love this question. What do you do when you procrastinate? Because it's gonna, it's a little window into the soul, right? Sometimes we procrastinate. That's not necessarily a window into the soul. It's just like I would rather clean than answer these emails. But sometimes we reach for the colored pencils. Sometimes we go and I know for me, Pinterest, but specifically, it's not just scrolling on Pinterest, it's fashion. I love going to my fashion board, the one that I've created. I have categories. Do I want to look at the capsule wardrobe? Do I want to look at like Western wear falls around the corner? Do I want to look at that? I personally love fashion. Y'all know that. I have now I'm trying to make it into a somewhat of a career with this whole modeling thing. And also, I love to look if you just want to talk clothes, my friend, if you have an event coming up and you just want to talk about clothes, I got you. But what do you do when you procrastinate? Check in.
Prompt Five Remember What You Loved
SPEAKER_01Next question: What is something you used to love or used to love to do? What is something that you used to love or used to love to do? Did you used to love bubblegum ice cream? Did you used to love Disney Channel? Did you used to love uh what is my brain is trying to what is it called when you have two double dutch? I was like two jump ropes. What is that? Double Dutch. Did you used to love to double dodge? What is something, some things you used to love or love to do? This is just a fun question. Again, we're just excavating the skull a little bit. Sometimes we forget our inner child, sometimes we forget the playfulness, sometimes we forget how wonderful we are. So these questions, this question in particular, and just to wake that up a little bit. It doesn't mean that you go and you start painting again. It doesn't mean that you go and collect a bunch of Lisa Frank stickers if that's something that you used to love. But just notice what comes up. I did this recently and I really did used to love Lisa Frank um stickers. And I dug mine up and I found them and I just literally looked at them the same way it is the child. I was that kid that loved stickers but didn't want you to touch them. They're a museum. We're gonna look at the stickers, we're gonna appreciate the stickers, we're not gonna touch the stickers. I still have those stickers 20 years later.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. Yeah, 20 years later. I was like 10. Um, and so it doesn't mean that I'm gonna like go on a Lisa Frank binge and start buying all the things, but it did get me to take my stickers out and just stare at them. And trust me, it was such a fun experience, truly. Just sitting on my, I was in my office, sitting on my office floor. I spread out all my Lisa Frank stickers from childhood and I just stared at them. And some part of my like inner child woke up. I enjoyed the colors and looking at the butterflies and looking at the different animals and the shapes and the just everything about it. And then I put them back. They're in my office. I can look at them at any point at any time. It was just this mindful moment of like, oh, I really love these. And let's like, I don't know if it's this is zoom out or zoom in, but another aspect of this was gratitude. In that moment when I was just truly staring at those stickers, I was feeling gratitude. And gratitude, my friends, you know I love this quote, is healing bomb for the soul. Anytime we can have more gratitude in our life, love it, love it, love it, love it. Next question for you.
Prompt Six Define Success Yourself
SPEAKER_01All right, so this is six, but six, like I warned you all, has a bunch of little subsets. So it's really like four questions in this number six. Okay, so number six, what does it mean to be dot dot dot? You get to define this. Don't look anywhere else, look in your brain first. What does it mean to be organized? What does it mean to be successful? What does it mean to be loved? What does it mean to be healthy slash abundant? I'm gonna read those all to you again for my friends that are driving in the car. What does it mean to be organized? What does it mean to be successful? What does it mean to be loved? What does it mean to be wealthy slash abundant? I want you to go into your own brain and get the answers for these. What does it mean to you to be organized? What does it mean to you to be successful? What does it mean to you to be loved? What does it mean to you to be wealthy and abundant? Notice what comes up. Love all of these questions, but the reason why I love this one is because there are times where we are walking around with definitions of things and we are living our lives by a definition that we have not brought to the forefront. This is 100% me in my early 20s. I'm now 33 years old. In my early 20s, I my definition of successful was making my dad proud. And to be so transparent with you all, I didn't know that. I did not know that that was the version of success that I was carrying around until I asked myself, what does it mean to be successful? And the immediate answer that came out of my body was make my dad proud. Make him proud. Because growing up, everything that I chose to do, I wanted to be a cosmetologist, I wanted to be a choreographer, I wanted to be creative. I was told, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You can be a doctor, you can be a lawyer, you can be an engineer. Who's gonna be my doctor? Who's gonna be my lawyer? Who's gonna be my engineer? So then at a young age, I decided that I didn't want to do any of those things, but I was still gonna prove to him that I could be successful even if I wasn't a doctor, a lawyer, or an engineer. So there came this little story that became everything. Will this impress my dad? Will this impress my dad? I'm always trying to impress my dad. I did not consciously know that this was going on, my friends, until I slowed down and asked myself the question: what does it mean to be successful? And then when that answer came out of me, it it kind of scared me. I was like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. My version of success, my definition of success is making my dad proud. To be quite honest with you, all there are definitely moments in my life where he's been proud, but more often than not, I have not necessarily felt that way. So I I caught myself chasing after something that I I couldn't actually measure. I don't I don't know if he's ever gonna be happy with me. I don't know if he's ever gonna be okay with what I'm doing. And then it came to, am I okay with what I'm doing? And then it came into I love Maya Angelou's version of success. Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it. That is now for me what it means to be successful. Liking myself, liking what I do, and liking how I do it. That's now my version of success. What does it mean to you to be successful, to be organized, to be loved, to be wealthy slash abundant? I really read that to you like four times. But I love you all so much, and I wanted you to make sure you got the questions. All right, last question, my friends.
Prompt Seven What Are You Hoping
SPEAKER_01What are you hoping for? What are you hoping for? Just notice whatever comes up. Like, what do you mean? What am I hoping for? What are you hoping for? Are you hoping for more joy in your life? Are you hoping for more peace? Are you hoping that your boss changes? Are you hoping that you get called and picked for that job? Are you hoping that you meet the one this year? Are you hoping that you get pregnant this year? Are you hoping that you meet new friends this year that actually have your back, call you on rainy days, want to know how you're doing? Are you hoping for a vacation? Are you hoping to finish a book this year? What are you hoping for? And I know that the the more hardcore hardcore coaching methodology is like we don't do hopes, we do plans. We need to have a plan. I want to step aside for that for just a second. What are you hoping for? Just having a human, vulnerable moment with yourself for yourself. What are you hoping for? And just whatever comes up, allow it to come up. I know sometimes this can be scary, right? Oh, I'm hoping that my relationship changes. I didn't know that that was within me. That's a little bit scary to say out loud, but I really am hoping for that. Okay, cool. It's up to you at that point if you want to get more curious about the thing that you're hoping for, right? I'm hoping I the relationship changes. And that surprises you. Okay, well, what about the relationship do you hope changes? And what part are you responsible for versus what part do you think the person across from you is responsible for? It might be something else where you already know the plans, right? I'm hoping for pregnancy this year. And my partner and I are already trying, and that's just something that I'm hoping for. Unpack it a little bit more. Once you're pregnant, what are you hoping for? Right? What are you looking towards? Why are you hoping for this pregnancy? What does it mean to you? So you can go as deep as you want to with that question, but just notice what comes up. What are you hoping for? As always, my friends, take what sticks to you, leave the
