What if the way you read Daniel 9 changes how you see the cross, the church, and your hope? We dive straight into the claim that Daniel’s prophecy uniquely vindicates Jesus as the Messiah and explore why detaching the 70th week and pushing it into the future can quietly shift the center of faith from Christ’s finished work to an Antichrist-centered storyline. We trace the rise of dispensationalism, test its assumptions against Scripture, and ask the hard pastoral questions: if redemption’s key promises are delayed, what did “It is finished” finish? If the church and the Spirit are removed before tribulation, how is anyone saved?

From there we turn to the unity of salvation across Scripture. Abraham believed, David walked by the Spirit, and the rock in the wilderness was Christ. One gospel, one Mediator, one people of God. This continuity brings clarity to eschatology and guards us from novelty masquerading as insight. But we also slow down to talk about character and community. Romans 14 calls us to stop condemning each other and to build each other up. Charity is not softness; it is strength under truth. We share practical ways to hear people fully, correct with patience, and become students of the Word who can spot teaching that fractures the story of redemption.

We also sit with the ache of divine silence. Using Job’s journey and the “teacher is quiet during the test” picture, we talk about how God’s silence often signals His nearness and purpose. Even opposition serves a role in God’s sovereign plan, as He proves His word in real time and forms a mature, steady people. The conversation closes with prayer, gratitude, and a vision for a church that worships together across generations—children included—holding one another up through trials and controversy alike.

If this challenged or encouraged you, share it with a friend, subscribe for future deep dives, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway or question. Your voice helps more listeners find thoughtful, Scripture-centered conversations.

Setting The Stakes: Daniel’s Prophecy

SPEAKER_02

So I you know I'm grateful to be able to have this exchange with people, not only here, but offline, um, because that's where you really get a sense for how people are concerned about getting at the truth. Brother Pat, go ahead. And then uh Brother Pat.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I just I just want to say Yeah, I just want to say that um for people that don't understand why this Daniel thing is so important, there's no prophecy like the prophecy in Daniel. And what I mean by that is it's by far the most important prophecy in the whole Bible because it proves Jesus is who he says he is, without without any doubt. It's proof to the whole world that is so definitive and un. And of course, what's the first thing that Satan's gonna do? How do we cut that out from under the legs? The Christians have a prophecy that is undeniable, it can't be denied by any rational person, any world. So, what are we gonna do? We're gonna come with a theology that makes it not about Jesus and pushes it into the future. It's cutting the heart out of the Bible, it's cutting the legs off of Christians. That's what this is about. If you don't understand that this issue is spiritual warfare at the highest level, you need to get that understanding.

Yep.

Dispensationalism Challenged

The 70th Week And Christ’s Work

SPEAKER_02

Brother Pat is right. And I, and Brother Pat, let me tell you something. I I I was talking to somebody on the phone the other day. I can't remember who it was because I try to talk to as many people as I can, but I forgot who I was talking to. And and uh it might have been Sister Barbara, Barbara Smith. And and I was saying that when you study church history, you will you will find as you go out through church history that there were there was always a dominant theme amongst the scholarly or the scripturally astute. There was always a dominant theme that was in discussion that was in discussion. And you usually had a champion on either side. For instance, you know, Augustine versus Pelagius and the Pelagian heresy, um, Luther and uh Erasmus, Calvin and Servitus, and so on and on. You had this, you know, Arminius and Calvin as well. So you have all these things, all these people. And it was always a particular doctrine that was at the forefront, whether it would be the Mass and Communion, whether it be the Trinity, whether it be the depravity of man versus the free will of man. But today, today, I would argue that from the in during the 19th century, early 1800s, that is when when when when dispensationalism was introduced, that became the the enemy doctrine to put to get a pervasive hold on the church. Because as brother uh Pat just said, you need to understand that when you take away that 70th week and detach it from its consecutive linear order, which is foolishness on its own, by detaching it, you're saying that the things that are to be accomplished during that 70th week haven't happened yet. That's why it is a vicious, wicked doctrine that cannot be ignored by God's church. You are saying that the very things that Christ said it was finished, you're saying it's not finished. It is yet to happen. And here's the thing when you look at what's included, I know we get on this subject on the subject lately, but when you look at look at what's included, finishing the transgression, making reconciliation for iniquity, making it into sins, in other words, all these things, anointing the most holy, all all six of those things, if that is all part of the 70th week and it doesn't happen until the future, that's a bad enough problem. That's a significant enough problem. But when you add to the fact that the Christian church under that system is supposed to be gone when it does happen, is even more foolish. That's why dispensationalism is heresy, absolute heresy. Let me say it one more time. Dispensationalism is flat out heresy, and I will contend with everyone who opposes it, and we all should be able to. Like Brother Pat says, that prophecy, more than any other, makes it unequivocally certain and sure that it has everything to do with Christ and Him alone, not the Antichrist. Think about what you're saying. It wasn't about Christ. These people are saying it's about the Antichrist. He's the one that's making a covenant with the many for one week in the middle of the week. That's what they call their treaty. You need to understand these people are lying. It is not the truth. It is a lie, it is heretical, it is heresy, and it needs to be vigorously fought against. It needs to be strenuously fought against, aggressively fought against. It needs to be. But when you have the greater part of Christianity deceived by it, it leaves only a few. And think about what you're saying did not happen when you embrace it. You need to understand what you're saying didn't happen if you embrace it. And then you have the other part of Christianity who can't defend against against the truth. They can't defend against what you're saying is true. So what do they say? Well, it's not that important anyway. It's just eschatology. Well, it's eschatology if you believe that. If you believe that is true, then it would be eschatology because it would be future. But we're saying it's already past, and therefore it cannot be future because Christ has already made reconciliation for the iniquity for iniquity. He's already put an end of sins, he's already sealed vision and prophecy. He is the anointed, he is the most holy that was anointed, and he said that with his own words when he quoted Isaiah 42. So it is important. Don't think that this is not an important lie to allow people to believe and get away with. Don't believe that for a second. It is heretical teaching at the highest level. It is false through and through. And I mean every aspect of it, from the idea of seven different dispensations where salvation was different under each one of these errors, it is all lies. Salvation has always been the same. Justification by faith in God through Christ, period, and simple. Abraham had the same faith that you and I have. And that's that salvation has been exactly the same and it hasn't changed. And you have people that will argue, many of you may remember the time we had that conversation where I was going through the, I forgot what topic I was teaching on, but showing how the Holy Spirit is the same, just like Christ, just like the Father, same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. David had the same Holy Spirit living and driving in him the way he does me. I heard a Christian, somebody type yesterday that Abraham or Job didn't have the Holy Spirit. Yes, they did. They could not be saved if they weren't, if they did not have the Holy Spirit. If they did not have the Holy Spirit, how are they saved today? Every Christian, every true Christian is sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. Why is this difficult to understand? No, they didn't have the Holy Spirit. That didn't come until later. No, it came in a different way. Just like before Christ came, you know, before Christ came, people had a different relationship to him. But it was he, like Paul says, when when when Moses struck that rock, what did Paul say about that rock? Anybody?

SPEAKER_04

That rock was Christ.

Salvation And The Holy Spirit Across Ages

SPEAKER_02

Amen. That rock was Christ. That rock was Christ. The people who violated the the testimony of the Spirit during the days when Noah was building the ark, the faith, the spirit that was rejected was whose spirit? Spirit. Spirit of Christ, which is the Holy Spirit. Right. Absolutely. Salvation, Christians. Listen, salvation in every era has always been the same for everyone. The only difference is the degree of light that was made available to Old Testament saints. And when you look at, when you look at and you read Psalms, when you read the book of Psalms, when you read the Psalms and you read Ecclesiastes, when you read any book in the Bible, you can't think that these men did not have the Holy Spirit in them. You can't do it. It's the majesty of God in every single word on every single page of this book that we read. Salvation has always been the same. The light may have been different, but the way of salvation has always been the same. And it will always be the same. And this was another foolish lie about dispensationalism and that pre-tribulation rapture stuff, because they say that the Christians are going to be gone at the rapture, and they say that when the Christians are gone during the rapture, preceding the or inaugurating the seven-year tribulation, they say that the Holy Spirit is gone with them. So I ask you, how are they saved without the Holy Spirit? Jesus said if it is needful for me to go in order that the comforter, the paraclete, come and indwell you. So if he leaves the church, then how are those 144,000 so-called super Jews being converted and converting others without the Holy Spirit? I really want to know this. So this is what I mean. Christians need to be students of the Word of God, and they need to understand the consistency of the Word of God is the same throughout. The only difference is how with the degree of revelation, the degree of light that individuals may have. And we also look back, look back at Christ and what he did when he came here, but we don't have the understanding that Paul did. Otherwise, we wouldn't be arguing about Paul every day with somebody. Arguing John, arguing Revelation, arguing Peter, arguing Matthew. So we can't sit around and start judging which parts of the Word of God are essential or not essential for salvation, or are essential or not essential for fellowship, or essential or not essential to be believed. Here's the fact everything in the Word of God must be believed to be true, even if you don't understand it, you must believe it is all true at the very minimum. Finding out how to make sense of it is what we are supposed to be doing, being students of the Word of God, to make sense of it all. And I still believe that there are certain things that there are Christians today who do have the minds to add some more light to. So I personally am a strong advocate of Christians getting their hearts right with the Lord and understanding his truth, understand his words, because we need believers who understand the truth and who take time to hear from the Lord. We really do. We really do. So that we are not ashamed in these dark days when we have to be equipped to resist the devil and his minions and the wiles that he puts in our path. So anyway, I'll get off my little soapbox for the moment and uh give everybody your uh last words for tonight. Appreciate your kind attention uh tonight. But um, so anyway, last words, try to keep it short, no sermons, please. And then um and then we will um wrap it up for tonight. But it's been a good time, and I would love to have I took a little time to talk a little bit more because I really didn't want to start verse um uh 14 until tomorrow because I think that the grouping of the next few verses are going to be pretty pretty awesome uh grouping for us to examine. So um so I didn't want to get into the middle of that and then have to stop before I could finish it. So anyway, uh last words, Sister Candy, last word for tonight, sister.

Be Students Of Scripture

SPEAKER_06

So great from Romans 14. We can start the verse 1 that says, yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. So let's stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall. But of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God and you will approve, and others will approve of you too. So then let us thank for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. So instead of attacking each other because one believes this and maybe isn't as seasoned in the word, let's not get upset because somebody might see something different, and let's start taking into consideration what other people think and apply. And the best part about it all is that Holy Spirit that we as believers have because of the love of Jesus Christ and God, the Father that sent us through him, he's the one that gives us that understanding, he's the one that will correct us in this word.

SPEAKER_02

Amen. Amen. Mariah, I think I I think I missed you. But uh, so if there was something you wanted to say, because I think I I wrote your name down and I think I missed you. If I didn't get to you, I'm sorry. But um whatever it is you wanted to say, go ahead and say it and then give us your last word.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, I could combine it all. I just wanted to say that um, you know, a lot of people, um, it was about the gods being silent. And a lot of people just say, you know, um, my my god when I heard somebody say, hold on, sorry, um that they were they wanted to self-harm themselves, and the reason was was because they couldn't hear their God speaking to them, or he they could not feel him. And you know, it just upsets me that a lot of the time like people treat God like a Jamie, or what is made that they think that they need an answer to answer when they call eggs in, you know, 2.5 seconds or those, you know. Um, I think it's just very ridiculous. Um, but I am learning, um let's raise my brows because when people say some things that are my brows are raised and I'm like, uh I'm learning to, you know, maybe hear the matter in the totality because it may be the way that they're presenting their words that sound like they don't know exactly what they're talking about. Um, so I want to have more patience with that than to, you know, um already like whoa, no, that's not I don't know, like, you know, when you hear I accepted him into my my eyebrows are raised from that point on until whenever, you know, uh because then I know that maybe they just don't understand the sovereignty of God in the way that they should understand it. Um, and as we can see, God is going to show them that they need to actually be the one that are repenting and to turn and change from their ways um in the future. So I'm I'm just excited for that. But thank you for my little rant.

SPEAKER_02

Amen. Hey, brother Coz, I saw that you have a prayer request. Feel free to write it in the comments so we can get Jeff on there to include it in our prayer at the end. Um, Sister Um Meg, last word for tonight.

Final Reflections And Exhortations

SPEAKER_07

Well, my last word is I want Pat to explain. I want Pat to explain, he explained something to me the other night that really opened my eyes when you when he He was talking about the enemy and like his purpose and us really understanding that God has purpose and everything. Like to me, it's it just rained so much truer in this book that just even in our lives, like just when we think that that God is silent, he was doing something super big. Like the 400 years of silence that was between scripture, it says, and when the fullness of the time came, God sent his son. But what was going on historically between these 400 years that where it made the time perfect for the Lord Jesus Christ to come? Like all of these periods of silence where God was, even in our own lives, he's doing something. When we feel him the least, he is literally moving the most. Seriously. I've learned that so much from that book. And it's encouraging to know that when we're going through that, it's like, okay, Lord, you're silent right now. But you know what? I hear you even when I don't hear you. I know that you are seeing something. I know that you're watching. I know that you're you're listening. And when you're not when when we think that you're silent, Lord God, you're really not. You're still there. And it just encourages all of us, I think, to just continue in the faith, continue seeking Him. He's gonna do something. And it's it's really comforting, you know?

SPEAKER_02

Amen, sister. Amen. Brother Pat, last word.

Romans 14 And Charity

SPEAKER_00

Well, the the conversation I had with Meg God having a purpose and all things is a long conversation, and I don't think I could wrap it up into a minute. So so maybe maybe we'll have a topic of that or something at some time in the future. But what I will say, Meg, is that there are no accidents. That um, you know, very often people feel like, man, I wish I wish Satan never, I I wish he was wasn't here. Well, you know what? God has a purpose. You know, got God is not running around doing patchwork, and even the wicked serve a vital purpose to God's plan. God is is tested, right? There are mockers. Whatever God says, here comes the enemy to say it's untrue, right? To to accuse the brethren, to call the liquor, and God is ultimately vindicated and proven true. So those mockers, those enemies, those opposers, they are wicked and evil, but they serve a vital purpose because in eternity we are gonna know because it has been proven to us that every word of God is true, not just because he said so with no proof, because he proved it in real time. There is a purpose for a devil, there is a purpose for the reprobate, and so that's a really um it's an understanding that's important, but um it also requires a certain level, I think, of spiritual maturity to to accept that. That's true. You know, there are some truths that are very difficult for our flesh to accept, and the sovereignty of God is no exception.

SPEAKER_02

Amen, brother. That is the absolute truth. That is the absolute truth. Sister Lisa, go ahead. Last word, sister.

SPEAKER_05

Well, I just want to thank everybody again. Um, I I got so much out of this um this teaching tonight. I always do. Um one of the things that I'm I'm really gonna be um focused on are my responses and you know, really praying about everything I do, every action I take. I mean, I do pray every day to let me see people through the eyes of the Lord, um, even those that appear to be his enemy. I mean, I want to, you know, sometimes I have anger and I believe it's righteous anger, and then I'll have somebody say something, well, that's not godly, and then I start questioning my feelings, and well, yeah, you know, and you know what I mean? And um as if, again, as if Jesus was some hippie Jesus that walked around with a peace symbol, you know, you know, so mellow. I you know, I think they picture him high on marijuana, not on marijuana, but that type of, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. And so I I know he got angry, I know he felt sadness, I know he and I don't mind feeling those things if they're from a place of righteousness, uh, not from a place of pride or ego or anything like that. So that's my you know that's my prayer for myself in growing in Christ is to really see through his eyes, right? To to feel uh what he feels.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_05

So I get it.

When God Feels Silent

SPEAKER_02

I totally get that, sister. And the scripture teaches that he was a man of like passion, it's just like we are. And so, you know, he he no doubts, you know, he felt anger, and but if with him, it was always a holy anger. He felt love, he felt overwhelmed, he had reasons to mourn, you know, and um but and and just like we talked about earlier, we you know we we need to come to him with sincerity of heart always, and and be transparent with him, like somebody typed. Uh, we need to be transparent with our Lord about what's going on in our souls, because it's better, it's better to be to be honest in our expressing our complaints and and you know to him than to be silently dishonest, as I mentioned earlier. And so, you know, and putting on this pretend this pretended era error uh aura of holiness by saying, I can't, I'm I'm I'm I'm covered in sin too much, I can't go to Christ. I can't go to him right now. Well, if you don't if you can't go to him with sin, there's nowhere for you to go. And um, and that's the mentality that we need to have. So, Brother Jeffrey, uh your last word and uh close this out, remembering Kaz and definitely remember um um Meg's sister Carly as well. I've been you know praying for her this morning. So uh you know what to do. I don't have to explain it. Go ahead, brother.

God’s Purpose In Opposition

SPEAKER_01

All right, Jonathan. Well, thank you. Uh we'll get to all prayer concerns in just a moment, my brother. Uh Jonathan, I just want to my final comment tonight is the fact that so many times when we're together in the evening, we get a lot of wisdom when the the panel is full, has all eight slots filled. But tonight we only have six slots filled with the panel. And yet, tonight I have gotten more wisdom, more intellect, more instruction, more blessing, more knowledge than I've gotten in quite a while out of this panel, yourself and this panel. And so I just want to take the opportunity to say thank you to all of you, Jonathan, to you, and for everyone tonight for contributing what you all have contributed. It has been a blessing uh to be a part of that and to hear you all share from your heart. And uh, Lisa, you you were making the comment a little while ago about the teacher is always quiet during the test. I was sitting here typing that, getting ready to put it in the scroll down below, as you were saying, and I thought, wow, great minds think a lot alike, you know. But that's often true. I mean, God is uh when he is silent, everyone, I've also found too, that's when he is also the closest. Now, on the surface, that doesn't make sense, but he is always there, watching, leading, protecting, guiding, and oftentimes, everyone, in ways we don't see and we don't understand. And I think sometimes we don't have to. We don't have to understand, just trust him. God just says, Trust me, you know, I've got this. So this week, let's uh every day, let's just trust him and see what he wants to do. Father, we just thank you tonight for your presence here and what an incredible study this has been tonight. How you continue to bless us out of the book of Job, how we're uh learning how Job dealt with his three treacherous friends, learning what they are going to learn and how they have mistreated, misrepresented, and misunderstood Job as he's tried to explain what's really going on in his life. So, Father, I just pray that we take lessons from both sides of this. From Job's side, we learn things that make us better for you. From his three friends' side, we learn things that make us better servants for you. And Lord, tonight we want to lift up cause's daughter, Julia. Uh, she is uh expecting with child, and we understand, Lord, that tonight she has high fever. So we just pray for the alleviation and uh that fever to be gone, that her temperature returned to normal, that she continue to carry out uh this pregnancy without incident, without problem, and that she delivers a beautiful, beautiful uh child to herself and a grandchild to cause. And Father, you get the glory, you get the honor, you get the praise, and you get the thanks. Lord, we also lift up tonight Meg's sister, Carly. And Lord, I uh we all just ask you right now, Father, for open minds and open hearts in this situation, that Megan would learn more about the details of what's going on here so that she can properly and correctly respond to it and respond to her sister in an even more loving, kind, generous, compassionate way. Father, we know that you are overflowing Megan with that right now. And she is practically bursting to want to give that and show that to her sister as she gets prepared for this operation. So, Lord, we just pray that you would sweep in with your presence and surround everything and everybody with your grace, with your love, with your compassion, mercy. Father God, so that everyone just overflows with it, Father, and you come out of this glorified. But and most of all, Carly comes out of this completely healed and gets on with her life for many, many years. Oh, Lord, we thank you. We praise you tonight. Thank you for Jonathan, thank you for everyone here. It's been a privilege and an honor to be here with you again tonight, Lord Jesus. And we all just say thank you. Thank you now for this group together tonight. Be with us as we go our ways and get a good night's sleep. We ask it all in Jesus' name.

SPEAKER_07

In Jesus' name. Amen. And Lina said, Lina said something really good in the comments. You know, we were talking about how the Lord never leaves us, but we don't leave him either. And we'll never leave him. That is I that makes me so joyful. And we won't, Lord, we're here. We're never gonna leave you, ever.

SPEAKER_02

Amen.

SPEAKER_07

Man, that's so good.

SPEAKER_02

And brother Lucky, you know, people don't know who you are because you got a weird uh uh naming convention for your name. He's that red dot down there. That's Lucky. You know, um, in your prayers tonight, you guys keep in mind he wants to be reunited with his son. So just keep that in mind. Um so Mariah, let's hear for the babies.

SPEAKER_03

They want to hear. Say goodnight.

SPEAKER_06

Good night, bye-bye. Thank you, mommy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Jonathan, I want to tell you why she's my daughter says, Oh no, where his hair go.

Honest Prayer And Dependence

SPEAKER_02

Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something, Mariah. You know, you know, what's I've always been one of these advocates, I'll keep it short, uh, but I've always been one of these advocates, and this came up to me years ago in in the church that I was at for years. I never liked the idea of children's church. I've never, I'm no, I'm no fan of that. And uh I I believe that children ought to be trained by their parents to know when the word of God is being spoken, to respect it, and to honor when the word of God is being preached as coming from the Lord Himself. And so it's so beautiful that how when when we when you you started being on our on the lies and you came in here and and the kids were always, you know, being kids, you know, while you're trying to give answers and whatever, and and I don't mind it at all. I love it. And um, and it's funny because now you see this just progress that has been made to where now they have been, you sort of got them at a place where at the end they know when we're done, and and they come in and they say goodnight, and I love you, and all that kind of stuff like that. And you're the reality is you're teaching them. You're teaching them, and you may not even realize it, what what it can turn into. Um, but I'm sure you're wise enough to understand what I'm saying. And and and they don't even realize it. But you know, one day they're just making noise in the background, another day they're coming in at the end and saying goodnight. Next thing you know, they they're involved in a conversation five years from now, and then after that, one of them is a preacher and the other one's a missionary or whatever. So it's a good work you're doing because we need to get see more kids, you know, being gazed that way. So it's just such a blessing. That never gets old to me. And that that's the one thing that trumps being provoked and being persuaded to see those little kids say goodnight and say I love you at night and whatever. I just love it.

SPEAKER_07

So it's Mariah. That's Jonathan's next hat or shirt. Wear him hair go. That is that is the next thing. We have to get this out of things. We will wear that proudly, knowing where it came from.

SPEAKER_02

Wear him hair go. Where him hair go. I love it.

SPEAKER_00

Hey Jonathan, can I say one can I say one word about what you just said about the kids? Sure. First time my church does the same thing, it doesn't separate the kids. And I was shocked when I first went to a church that didn't do that. I was like, oh my gosh, the kids are gonna be running around, they're gonna be creating havoc, uh, babies are gonna be crying nonstop. And I was shocked that these children, when you don't separate them from the parents, they become completely mature by like age seven.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you do.

SPEAKER_00

It's unbelievable. You do it it they're they're as well behaved. I I had no idea that if you keep kids under low standards, they will act crazy. Right. But if you teach them that about like, hey, there's a time and a place, they actually are can be way more mature than you would have ever thought. My church is the same way, and there's no distractions. Occasionally an infant will cry. The mother just, you know, takes them outside for a minute, no big deal, right?

SPEAKER_02

That's the way that's the way it is. You know, I I remember I remember one time I I went to a I went to a church when my my daughters were young and they came and told me uh the children's church is over here. I said, My children's church is right here where I'm at. Right here. Sir, we've got we have to have we have to have the children go. I said, My children are not going into a children's church. I said, either they sit here with me or we leave. And and we stay. And so that's you know, I don't I don't believe in that. And I don't I believe, you know, you know, there's there's some strong messages to be talked about on it in this regard. But children in the old even in the old covenant, in the old testament, you always see them as part of the congregation. They were always there, they were always there. There's there's no warrant for this children's church thing. So um, so it's just beautiful to me when I when I hear these little kids at night, when Mariah's children, and I just I love it. And Mariah, I hope I get to see them this summer. You're your kids are are is one group of people that I want to see. So, to the extent that we can make that happen.

SPEAKER_06

Me too.

SPEAKER_02

I want to see that sister. I really do.

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_04
