The Bible Provocateur
BibleProvocateur is a podcast that refuses to let Scripture be tamed, sentimentalized, or softened for modern comfort. Here, the Bible is allowed to confront, unsettle, and provoke—just as it always has. Drawing deeply from Reformed theology, church history, and careful exegesis, this podcast presses hard questions about grace, law, repentance, faith, judgment, and the sovereignty of God.
Each episode engages Scripture with historical depth and theological honesty, interacting with Reformers, Puritans, and classic commentators while challenging popular assumptions in contemporary Christianity. This is not reactionary outrage or shallow controversy—it’s principled provocation, aimed at exposing error, sharpening doctrine, and calling the church back to a robust, God-centered faith.
If you’re tired of devotional fluff, allergic to theological clichés, and convinced the Bible still has the authority to offend before it comforts, BibleProvocateur is for you. Come ready to think carefully, repent deeply, and worship a God who refuses to be domesticated.

LIVE DISCUSSION: (Job 15:21-23) "WICKED MAN'S DEMISE" Part 4/4
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You can spend a lifetime wandering with an empty soul while a full table sits within reach. We explore that unsettling truth through a clear, urgent journey: why money and status never quiet a restless conscience, how the Bread of Life meets us in the wilderness, and why the simplest step—repent and believe—feels so hard when pride wants something grand. This is not a maze of theology; it’s a straight path to hope.
We walk through the image of feasting that David paints and connect it to the nearness of salvation: the word is in your mouth and heart. Along the way, we challenge the myth that spiritual life is earned or rare. The story of Naaman shows how we resist simple obedience, preferring heroic effort over humble trust. We talk frankly about mortality—the “day of darkness” that makes every other comfort feel thin—and name the unavoidable decision at the edge of eternity: Christ or nothing. Not scare tactics, just clarity about what truly sustains a person when time runs short.
Our goal is pastoral and practical. If your heart has been loud with fear, guilt, or exhaustion, you’ll hear why only Jesus can carry sin and gift righteousness, why the conscience can finally rest, and how assurance comes from receiving rather than achieving. We invite you to stop stalling for a better moment, stop worrying about other people’s opinions, and take the meal that gives life. If the table is set and the Bread of Life is before you, will you sit and eat?
If this moved you, share it with someone who’s searching, hit follow, and leave a review so more listeners can find a clear path to hope.
BE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Bread Within Reach
SPEAKER_01Broad for bread. He's wandering for bread, and it's right there all along. It's always been right there. The wicked man becomes it's been there all along. We've been trying to get you to feast at the table of the Lord. A table that was set in the wilderness, the wilderness of this world. David talked about this table, this table of feasting, which takes place in the middle of this wilderness, this worldly wilderness. We are there. We are feasting on it at this very moment.

Wealth Cannot Satisfy
The Restless Search For Meaning
Near You: The Word That Saves
Naaman And Simple Obedience
Urgency Of Darkness And Death
The Only Choice: Christ Or Nothing
SPEAKER_01Sometimes you hear these things, you think these things, they come to your mind, and you get overwhelmed in your heart about it. If you don't, and you're a Christian, something is wrong with you. You need help. Because these are joyous things. Blessing, blessed things. And a rich man, a powerful man, an oppressing man in the world, even when he gets to a certain age, he gets to a certain point in life, he realizes these things don't satisfy. Like think it was Mariah who brought up uh Steve Jobs. I remember reading about that. All the money in the world. All the money in the world. Okay, it was Meg who said it. But all the money in the world. But it couldn't give him the bread of life. It couldn't give him the bread of life. And so the thing is, the thing is, the wicked men they become restless and unsettled. They start wandering in search for spiritual sustenance. Spiritual sustenance. And so, and they don't know where to go. And the funny thing is, it's been there all the time, right in front of their faces. This hunger that is spoken of here, I'm convinced, this is not physical. Remember, they're trying to get Job to admit to guilt so that he can be right with God. What we're talking about is something spiritual that these guys are referring to. They're telling Job that you are, this is you, Job, the wicked man. You need to deal with your sin, and then you won't. Then this description that I'm giving you doesn't have to be what really happens to you. They say here he wanders for wanders abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? He doesn't know where it is. Your mom witness to you. Your brother and your sister and your father witness to you. Your cousin witnessed to you. They offered you the bread of life, you rejected it. Your pastor, witnessed to you, the evangelist, witnessed to you, the person that you sat next to on the plane, witnessed to you, and offered you the bread of life, and you rejected it. And then you get to a certain point in life where you start asking, where is it? And notice he wandered abroad looking for it, like there's some great mission. The word of God is near thee, even in your mouth, that if you will confess the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, you shall be saved. Don't pretend that you need to go up to heaven to get it. Don't pretend that you need to go below the earth to get it. It is right there in front of you. It has always been there. Always been there. And so they start getting confused because they like Naaman, they don't want to be like, well, wait a minute. You want me to go dip into the river Georgia's filthy river? I have leprosy, and you want me to get into that filthy river and dip three times, and I'm gonna be healed of my leprosy. He was like, What did I come over here for? This is a waste of my time. Seven times. Three times, seven times, seven times. Dip seven times, you'll be healed. I got a meticulous group here. I gotta be careful what I say. But you're right. Go dip seven times in the river Jordan, and you're gonna be cleansed. And he didn't want to do it. Now, when you got leprosy at the stage that he had it, you're probably gonna die. And the prophet, all he said to do was to go dip seven times in the river Jordan. He's like, I had better, don't we have better waters and bodies of water where we from? You know, and then his servant said, Hey, if he'd asked you to do something difficult, would you not have done it? How much more should you do it since he's only asked you something very simple to do? My point is, access to the bread of life has been right before us all along. Even all of us who are saved now, we know how many times roughly that we were presented with feasting on the Lord Jesus Christ, and we rejected it. Thankfully, the Spirit of God compelled us, and here we are, but the greater part of mankind are still meandering around, wandering around the earth, seeking for the bread of life, asking, where is it? And these same folks, they know that the day of darkness, like verse 23 says, the day of darkness is at hand. Death is imminent, death is always imminent, and all your past security blankets that you clung to, that you strive for, they are going to fail, and they will not satisfy you, and they will not sustain you. It is an absolute impossibility. It's an impossibility. You have nothing that you can do. It is Christ or it is nothing, it is heaven or it is eternal flames. Eternal, everlasting flames. That is the option. The bread of life or eternal death, not annihilation, not a purging, eternal torment where the worm dies not, where the conscience is always plaguing you forever. Your conscience will be your worst enemy, it will gnaw and needle at you forever. People don't want to believe this, but it is true. It is true. The day of darkness is said to be ready at hand, it's imminent. The Lord Jesus Christ can come at any moment. And when he does, this light as we know it is over, and your destiny will be sealed based on what you did here when it comes to your understanding about the Lord Jesus Christ. Judgment is personal, judgment is near, and judgment is unavoidable. Unavoidable. Right when you're young, you think that I can live forever. And what was once distant future, and you put out of your mind, but what was once distant future suddenly becomes pressing and darn near immediate. And what does it show you? It shows you how fragile we are. Sinners need to know how fragile they are, and there's nothing more fragile than the confidence of the ungodly.
SPEAKER_00That's all. That's all for tonight.
Time Is Short
Are You Feasting On Christ
SPEAKER_01This is important to understand. Our life is short. Somebody, a few people wrote, time slips away quickly. Life is a vapor. All these things are true. True. And here, you may think, well, Christ hasn't come yet. So people have been saying that it's been the end times, it's been the last days for a long time. And you know, I don't think there's any evidence that he's coming anytime soon. Well, you know what? He may not come soon. He may not come for another three, four, five millennia. We don't know. He may come another four or five days. One thing is for sure. Regardless of when he's coming back, he's coming for you soon. That is for sure, coming for each one of us soon. I know, like some of us brothers here, we know that we have fewer days ahead of us than the days we have already spent here. And I can tell you, I'm ready. Ready, and I can tell you with absolute confidence, I'm going to be with the Lord. How about you? Have you feasted on Jesus Christ? I have. Have you eaten his body? Have you drank his blood? I have. Does that sound morbid to you? Then you don't know Christ. This is a blessed institution to be able to partake in his body and to partake in his blood. Only he can atone for sin. Submit to him while you can. Look to the Son. Be ye saved, all you ends of the earth. Listen to the one from whom grace poured from his lips. Look to him of whom it is said there was no guile in his mouth. Look to him who was perfect and obedient to the law of God in such a way that not only could he take our sin upon him, but he also imputes his righteousness to us. Don't play with this. If you are listening, don't be scrolling past this. The Lord knows you heard it. Anyone of you who's listening who doesn't know Christ, you better listen to this. You are going to die in your sins and be cast into a lake of fire, which is real, which is eternal, which is everlasting, and it is perpetual torment. Don't try to talk about what's fair, what's not fair about God doing it when you are told today how to avoid that. Feast on the Lord Jesus Christ today while it is called. Amen, brother. Submit to the king of creation, to the king of the universe, submit to your king, because you are not your king. You are not your king. There is a throne on your heart, and you think you stand on it, but you don't. You are a fool if you think you are.
SPEAKER_00I gotta tell you the truth.
Repent And Believe Now
SPEAKER_01This is no height talk. This is an urgent talk. This is an urgent call for you to repent from your sin and turn to the one and only living God who sent his one and only Son to die for your sins.
SPEAKER_00That's all.
SPEAKER_01And I don't say that's all in a flippant way. When I say that's all, I am in trying to impress upon you that it is simple. Just believe.
SPEAKER_00Just believe. I'm not being flippant, but that's all.
Don’t Fear People, Seek Righteousness
SPEAKER_01That's all there is to do. Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, believe on him. Know that you are a sinner in a desperate need of the one and only physician that can give you life. And it's only him. Don't worry about being embarrassed because somebody's gonna talk to you differently or treat you differently. Don't worry about what people are gonna think about you. Don't worry about people calling you a Bible thumper or a holy roller and all that kind of stuff. Let them say what they're gonna say. You know the chaos going on in your own darkened heart. Submit to Christ today. Now, there's nothing to think about, there's nothing to contemplate, there's nothing to mull over. It is very simple. You are a sinner in need of righteousness to be acceptable and reconciled to God. That is established fact. Christ is the only way who can you can take away your sin and get that righteousness was reconciled you to the Father. That's it. Believe that and you will be saved. I I I can't say I wish that I could make it more complicated. It it is simple as that. Charles Spurgeon was saved by the verse that I quote a lot. And I do so because of that was the verse that saved him. Look to the Christ, look to the Lord Jesus Christ, all you ends of the earth, and be ye saved. And that's where I will close.
