Jesus time in the wilderness ( Matthew 4: 1-11) was less about being tempted to act in certain ways, and more about being tested in his sense of who he was and how he might live that out. Lent too is about who we are as beloved children of God, how we forget that, and how we might live that out.

I want to suggest that our collective issue might be “climate change”

Invite people to reflect on what their Lenten disciplines might be considering that, and what “our” Lenten discipline might be.

The quote from the Lenten Study comes from "Life in the Garden: A Study for Lent" by Tom and Dorothy Innes

The eight studies survey the place of the garden and gardening in Scripture. The studies come out of many years of experience in the garden and of life on the land. They offer a practical theology of the garden for our times, and they encourage readers to take up this sacred activity and to join with God in the renewal of the earth and its people.
