Continuing down the trail of some fantastic and powerful lessons from Coach Pat Summitt, shared through Coach AJ - part 3 of 4 is: Run Through The Worst Case Scenarios - Run through what would happen if you do "fail". This allows you to face your fears head-on. List and those fears and the potential obstacles that may be hold you back. Think through the worst-case scenario and plan the steps to mitigate it. This process allows you to put your fears under a microscope and consider the potential benefits of taking action. I was always more of this type of coach for basketball - always trying to plan ahead a bit as to what we needed to avoid in playing another team. But, I didn’t spend a ton of time on it as I was more of an encouraging, positive, fired up type of coach for my players. If we do take a peek at this in our lives - we can prepare a bit for those moments. We can also know what not to do to have these worse case scenarios happen to us from our own choices.
