Blatant Misreading
Blatant Misreading is a podcast where we take academic and political theory somewhere it was never meant to go: popular culture. In each episode, hosts Margie Tang-Oxley and Aaron Posner analyse a movie or TV show with a piece of theory that is, at best, kind of misapplied. Of course we all want an analysis of class dynamics in "Parasite," but we'll leave something that makes that much sense to the pros! We'll be over here applying Noam Chomsky to "Paddington 2."

Episode 12
This is the third episode of our Marx miniseries, where we spend multiple episodes diving into Marx's most famous work: The Communist Manifesto. This episode we're talking about Honky Chateau, Elton John's best selling album which features hits like "Rocket Man" and "Honky Cat".
We’ll be diving deep into the elements of the life of a bloke: the plight of working man, the eternal conflict of country versus city life, and of course the ~proletariat~. But really the key question here is: Are astronauts just regular working people?
