Luisa writes,

After I struggled very much, my most sweet Jesus came and told me: “My daughter, the support of true sanctity is the knowledge of self.” And I: ‘Really?’ And He: “Certainly, because with the knowledge of self one undoes himself and leans completely on the knowledge he acquires of God, in such a way that his operating is the very divine operating, since nothing is left of his own being.” Then He added: “When one’s interior imbues and occupies itself with God alone and with all that belongs to Him, God communicates all of Himself to the soul. When her interior, then, occupies itself now with God, now with other things, God communicates Himself to the soul in part.”

Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew. Daily Reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Luisa Picaretta, march twenty third, nineteen oh two, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, in your infinite wisdom, you reveal to us the truth of who we are and who you are. Grant us the grace of true self knowledge, that we may empty ourselves of all that is not of you and be filled completely with your divine life. Through Jesus, teach us to lean not on our own strength, but to abandon ourselves entirely in your will. Amen. Saint Paul writes in his second letter to the Corinthians, chapter twelve, verse nine. My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph twenty five fifty nine. Prayer is the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God. But when we pray, do we speak from the height of our pride and will or out of the depths of a humble and contrite heart? He who humbles himself will be exalted. Humility is the foundation of prayer. This humility begins in the truth, seeing ourselves as we are before God. It is in this place of self-knowledge that the soul becomes disposed to receive the fullness of God. Louisa writes After I struggled very much, my most sweet Jesus came and told me, My daughter, the support of true sanctity is the knowledge of self. And I really? And he? Certainly. Because with the knowledge of self one undoes himself and leans completely on the knowledge he acquires of God, in such a way that his operating is the very divine operating, since nothing is left of his own being. Then he added, When one's interior imbues and occupies itself with God alone and with all that belongs to him, God communicates all of himself to the soul. When her interior then occupies itself now with God, now with other things, God communicates himself to the soul in part. True sanctity, as Jesus reveals, begins not with great works, but with truth. The truth of who we are before God. Self-knowledge is not meant to discourage us, but to free us. When we see our weaknesses, our limitations, and even our nothingness apart from God, we are no longer tempted to rely on ourselves. In that humility, something extraordinary happens. We begin to lean entirely on God. And when the soul stops acting from its own strength and begins to act from God's strength, its actions are no longer merely human. They become divine. Jesus makes a profound distinction. When the soul is fully occupied with God, God gives himself completely. But when the soul is divided, partly for God and partly for other things, then God can only give himself partially. This is not because God withholds, but because the soul is not fully open to receive. Living in the divine will, then, is a total occupation of the interior with God. It is a constant returning, a continual emptying of self and a steady focus on Him alone. The more we detach from self and created things, the more space we make for God to live and operate within us. Today, we are invited to embrace this path, not to fear our weakness, but to recognize it as the doorway through which God enters fully into our lives.

Let us pray.

SPEAKER_02

O Lord, in the light of your truth, I see my nothingness and your infinite greatness. Strip away from me all that belongs to you, every attachment, every illusion, every false strength. Teach me to rest not in myself, but entirely in you. Jesus, I surrender my thoughts, my desires, and my will. Occupy my interior, so that there may be no room for anything but you. Let every act I do be done in your divine will, so that it may carry your life, your love, and your power. Grant me the grace of true self-knowledge, not to be discouraged, but to be freed, to be emptied so that you may fill me. May my life become your life, and my actions become your actions. I abandon myself into your divine will. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Remain in the truth of who you are before God, small, dependent, and deeply loved. In that truth, you will discover the doorway to his fullness, where he longs to give himself entirely to you. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
