Luisa writes,

Continuing in my usual state, blessed Jesus came for just a little and told me: “Daughter, temptations can be conquered easily, because the devil is the most cowardly creature that can exist, and a contrary act, a contempt, a prayer, are enough to make him flee. In fact, these acts render him even more cowardly than he is, and in order not to bear that confusion, as soon as he sees the soul resolute in not wanting to pay attention to his cowardice, he flees terrified.

Now, if the soul cannot easily free herself, it means that it is not only a temptation, but a passion rooted within the soul, which tyrannizes her together with the temptation. Therefore, she is unable to free herself; and where there is passion, the devil has more strength to make fun of the soul.”

Welcome. This is David Russell in Your Faith Anew. Daily Reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, march twenty fifth, nineteen oh eight, volume eight. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, grant us the strength to resist temptation with courage and clarity. Help us to recognize the weakness of the enemy and to stand firm in your divine will, trusting in your power within us. May our acts of prayer, resolve, and love drive away all that opposes you. Amen. Saint James writes in his epistle, James chapter four, verse seven. Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph three hundred ninety five. The power of Satan is, nonetheless, not infinite. He's only a creature, powerful from the fact that he is pure spirit, but still a creature. He cannot prevent the building up of God's reign. As we now turn today's reading, we see how the soul, rooted in the divine will, gains strength to resist temptation and overcome even the deepest interior struggles. Louisa writes. Continuing in my usual state, blessed Jesus came for just a little and told me. Daughter, temptations can be conquered easily, because the devil is the most cowardly creature that can exist. And a contrary act, a contempt, a prayer are enough to make him flee. In fact, these acts render him even more cowardly than he is. And in order not to bear that confusion, as soon as he sees the soul resolute and not wanting to pay attention to his cowardice, he flees terrified. Now, if the soul cannot easily free herself, it means that it is not only a temptation, but a passion rooted within the soul, which tyrannizes her together with the temptation. Therefore, she is unable to free herself. And where there is passion, the devil has more strength to make fun of the soul. This passage reveals a powerful truth. Temptation itself is not the greatest danger. Our attachment to disordered passions is. But this reading also invites us to deeper honesty. Where do I struggle repeatedly? Where does temptation seem stronger? These are often signs of areas where healing is needed, where grace must go deeper. The divine will does not merely help us resist, it transforms us from within. It uproots passions and replaces them with divine order, peace, and freedom. When we live in this way, temptation loses its power, and our soul becomes stable, peaceful, and anchored in God. Let us pray. Jesus, my strength and my refuge, I thank you for revealing the truth about temptation. You show me that I need not fear, for the enemy is weak before a soul united with you. Give me the grace to be resolute, to reject temptation immediately, and to cling to your divine will without hesitation. Reveal to me the passions within my heart that still need healing. Do not allow me to remain in self-deception, but bring your light into every hidden place. Jesus, I surrender my will to you. Replace my weakness with your strength, my confusion with your truth, and my instability with your peace. May every act of my life be united with your divine will, so that nothing may separate me from you. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Remain firm in your resolve and do not be discouraged by temptation. Instead, see it as an opportunity to choose God more deeply. Remember, the enemy flees before a soul firmly rooted in the divine will. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
