"Your Faith Anew!"
Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.
Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.
David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.
In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.
In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:
“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”
Join us daily as we seek not only to understand our Faith—but to live it fully, joyfully, and in union with the Divine Will.

Luisa writes,
While I was doing my meditation during the day, Jesus kept making Himself seen near me, and told me: “My Person is surrounded by all the works that souls do, as by a garment; and the more purity of intention and intensity of love they have, the more splendor they give Me, and I will give them more glory; so much so, that on the Day of Judgment I will show them to the whole world, to let the whole world know how my children have honored Me, and how I honor them.”
Assuming a more afflicted air, He added: “My daughter, what will happen to so many works, even good, done without purity of intention, out of habit and selfinterest? What shame will not fall upon them on the Day of Judgment, in seeing so many works, good in themselves, but made rotten by their intention, such that, their very actions, instead of rendering honor to them, as they would to many others, will give them shame? In fact, I do not look at the greatness of the works, but at the intention with which they are done. Here is all my attention.”
Jesus kept silent for a little while, and I kept thinking about the words He had spoken to me while I was meditating within my mind, especially on the purity of intention, and on the fact that, when creatures do good, they must disappear, making the creature one with the Lord Himself, as if creatures did not exist.
Then Jesus continued, saying to me: “Yet, it is so. See, my Heart is so very large, but the door is very narrow. No one can fill the void of this Heart but souls who are detached, naked and simple. In fact, as you see, since the door is small, any hindrance, even the slightest – that is, a shadow of attachment, an intention which is not upright, a work done without the purpose of pleasing Me – prevents them from entering to delight in my Heart. Much love of neighbor enters my Heart, but it must be so united to mine as to form one single love, in such a way that one cannot be distinguished from the other. But as for the other love of neighbor which is not transformed into my love – I do not look at it as something that belongs to Me.”

SPEAKER_00Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew. Daily Reflections guiding you to live in the divine will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, May 7th, 1899, volume two. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O Jesus, purify our intentions and draw us into the simplicity of your divine heart. Teach us to act only for love of you, stripping away every self interest, so that all we do may give you glory. Amen. Saint Matthew records in his gospel, chapter six, verse one. Beware of practicing your piety before men in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph seventeen fifty two. In contrast to the object, the intention resides in the acting subject, because it lies at the voluntary source of an action and determines it by its end. Intention is an essential element in the moral evaluation of action. The intention behind an action determines its true value before God, revealing whether it is done for his glory or for self. Louisa writes While I was doing my meditation during the day, Jesus kept making himself seen near me and told me My person is surrounded by all the works that souls do, as by a garment, and the more purity of intention and intensity of love they have, the more splendor they give me, and I will give them more glory, so much so that on the day of judgment I will show them to the whole world, to let the whole world know how my children have honored me and how I honor them. Assuming a more afflicted air, he added, My daughter, what will happen to so many works, even good done without purity of intention, out of habit and self interest? What shame will not fall upon them on the day of judgment in seeing so many works good in themselves, but made rotten by their intention, such that their very actions, instead of rendering honor to them as they would to many others, will give them shame. In fact, I do not look at the greatness of the works, but at the intention with which they are done. Here is all my attention. Jesus kept silent for a little while, and I kept thinking about the words he had spoken to me while I was meditating within my mind, especially on the purity of intention and on the fact that when creatures do good they must disappear, making the creature one with the Lord Himself, as if creatures did not exist. Then Jesus continued, saying to me, Yet it is so. See, my heart is so very large, but the door is very narrow. No one can fill the void of this heart but souls who are detached, naked and simple. In fact, as you see, since the door is small, any hindrance, even the slightest, that is a shadow of attachment, an intention which is not upright, a work done without the purpose of pleasing me, prevents them from entering to delight in my heart. Much love of neighbor enters my heart, but it must be so united to mine as to form one single love, in such a way that one cannot be distinguished from the other. But as for the other love of neighbor which is not transformed into my love, I do not look at it as something that belongs to me. Jesus reveals a great truth. It is not the size of our works, but the purity of our intention that gives them value. Every act we perform surrounds him like a garment, but only those done with pure love shine with splendor. How often we do good things, yet with mixed motives, seeking recognition, comfort, or personal satisfaction. These subtle attachments, though small, can rob our actions of their divine fragrance. The image of the narrow door is familiar. Jesus' heart is immense, yet only those who are simple, detached, and pure can enter. The divine will calls us to interior simplicity, to act not for ourselves, but for God alone. To live in the divine will is to disappear into Him, allowing our acts to become His acts. In this way, even the smallest action becomes eternal, filled with divine value. Let us examine not just what we do, but why we do it, offering everything with one intention to please God alone. Let us pray. O Jesus, purify my heart and intentions. Strip away every hidden motive that is not for you. Teach me to act in simplicity and truth, desiring nothing but your glory. Make my soul small, detached, and free, so that I may pass through the narrow door into your sacred heart. Transform my love of neighbor into your love, so that it is no longer mine, but yours living within me. May every act I perform be united to your divine will, shining with the splendor of pure love. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. Examine your intentions in all things, and offer every act to God with pure love. In doing so, even the smallest action will carry eternal value. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
