Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.
Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.
David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.
In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.
In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:
“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”

As I was concerned about the state of my soul, all of a sudden my adorable Jesus came and told me: “My daughter, do not be concerned, for I alone am the beginning, the means and the end of all your desires.” With these words I calmed myself in Jesus. May everything be for the glory of God, and may His Holy Name be blessed.

Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the Servant of God Louisa Picaretta, july fifth, nineteen oh one, volume four. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, quiet every anxious thought within our hearts. Teach us to trust that you alone are the source of every grace, the fulfillment of every holy desire, and the destination toward which our lives are directed. May we surrender ourselves completely to your divine will, allowing Jesus to be our beginning, our strength along the journey, and our everlasting end. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. In his letter to the Philippians, chapter one verse six, Saint Paul writes I am confident of this that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph twenty seven. The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God, and God never ceases to draw man to himself. Only in God will he find the truth and happiness he never stops searching for. As we continue our pilgrimage through the Book of Heaven, let us listen with hearts open to the quiet movements of God's grace. These timeless words invite us to discover where every holy desire finds its fulfillment. With these words I calmed myself in Jesus. May everything be for the glory of God, and may his holy name be blessed. Today's passage is remarkably brief, yet it contains an immense spiritual truth. Louisa approaches Jesus with concern over the condition of her soul. Like all sincere disciples, she desires to know whether she is pleasing to God. Many of us recognize this feeling. We examine ourselves, wonder whether we are growing, and sometimes become discouraged when we cannot clearly perceive God's work within us. Jesus gently redirects her attention. Rather than allowing her to become absorbed in herself, he lifts her gaze toward him. He simply says I alone am the beginning, the means, and the end of all your desires. Those few words contain an entire spirituality. Jesus is the beginning. Every authentic desire for holiness originates with him before it ever arises within us. The longing to pray, to forgive, to love, to serve, or to live in the divine will is already his grace at work. We often think we are searching for God, when in reality God has already begun searching for us. Jesus is also the means. Growth in holiness is not accomplished by our own strength. Living in the divine will is not primarily about perfect performance, but about continual dependence upon the one who lives within us. Every grace, every victory over temptation, every act of charity is sustained by his life operating in ours. When we recognize this, anxiety gives way to confidence. Finally, Jesus is the end. Every desire placed within the soul ultimately points toward union with Him. Even our deepest longings for peace, joy, purpose, and fulfillment find their completion only in God. The divine will gradually purifies our desires until they rest entirely in Him. Notice Louisa's response. She doesn't argue or continue worrying. She simply says that she calmed herself in Jesus. What a beautiful expression. She did not merely calm herself, she found her peace in Him. This is an important lesson for anyone striving to live in the divine will. When concerns arise about our spiritual progress, we need not become discouraged or overly focused on ourselves. Instead we return to Jesus. We entrust everything to him, believing that the one who began his work in us will faithfully complete it according to his perfect plan. Today whenever anxious thoughts arise, quietly repeat the words of Jesus. You alone are the beginning, the means, and the end of all my desires. Let that become an act placed in the divine will. As you surrender every concern to him, you allow his peace to reign where worry once lived. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, you are the source of every grace and every holy desire. Remove from my heart every fear that turns my attention inward instead of upward toward you. Teach me to trust your loving providence, knowing that you have begun your work within me and that you will bring it to completion. May every thought, every word, every action and every desire find its beginning in you, be sustained by you, and return to you in perfect love. Grant me the grace to live each moment in your divine will, confident that your plans are greater than my own understanding. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. May this reflection remind you that our spiritual journey does not depend solely upon our efforts, but upon the faithful love of Christ, who begins, sustains, and fulfills his work within you.
