"Your Faith Anew!"
Your Faith Anew! exists to help souls grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, strive to remain in a state of grace, and encounter the transforming joy of the Gospel. Its mission is simple yet eternal: to save souls, glorify God, and become saints.
Hosted by David Russell, this daily reflection podcast draws deeply from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta—especially The Book of Heaven—guiding listeners into a deeper understanding of living in the Divine Will.
David is the author of four spiritually rich works: Magi Theology: The Essence of Illusion, The Little Magician – Discovers Bigger and Better, Our Pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin, and his newest release, Our Mother in the Divine Will. With a lifelong fascination for the mystical, David discovered a profound connection between the art of illusion and deeper spiritual realities—an insight that inspired both his theological and children’s writings. His work Magi Theology received both the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Diocese of Knoxville.
In 2010, David was introduced to the writings of Luisa Piccarreta, which deeply resonated with his own spiritual insights. This encounter helped shape the foundation of his ministry.
In 2017, he founded the Your Faith Anew! prayer and study group to help Catholics rediscover and fall in love with their Faith. At the heart of his message is this conviction:
“The Catholic Faith prepares us to receive the Gift of Living in the Divine Will—and this Gift enables us to live our Faith in a divine manner most pleasing to God.”
Join us daily as we seek not only to understand our Faith—but to live it fully, joyfully, and in union with the Divine Will.

Luisa writes,
These days, my adorable Jesus continues to make Himself seen very few times; His visit is like a flash – when one would want to keep on looking, it is already gone; and if sometimes He stays for a little while, it is almost always in silence. Other times, He says something, but the moment He goes away, He seems to withdraw that word, together with the light that comes to me from His word; so much so, that afterwards, I no longer remember anything of what He said, and my mind remains in the same confusion as before. What a miserable state! My dear Jesus, have pity on this misery – continue to make use of your mercy!
So, in order not to be too long, saying what happened to me day by day, I will say now, all at once, a few words He told me in these past days.
I remember that after I had shed most bitter tears, Jesus made Himself seen, and since I lamented to Him that He had left me, Jesus called many Angels and Saints to Himself, and turning to them, He said: “Listen to what she says – that I have left her. Tell her a little – can I leave those who love Me? She has loved Me – how can I leave her?” The Saints were in agreement with the Lord, and I remained more humiliated and confused than before.
Another time, after I said to Him, ‘In the end, You will end up leaving me completely’, Jesus said to me: “Daughter, I cannot leave you, and as a pledge of this I have placed my sufferings in you.” Then, while I was occupied with this thought, ‘How is it, Lord, that You have permitted the coming of the confessor? Everything could have passed between me and You’, in one instant, I found myself outside of myself, lying on a cross, but there was no one who could nail me to it. I began to pray the Lord to come to crucify me Himself, and Jesus came and told me: “See how necessary it is for the priest to be in the middle of my works - and this is just help to complete the crucifixion. Indeed, without anybody else, you cannot crucify yourself by yourself; it always takes the help of others.”

SPEAKER_01Welcome. This is David Russell and Your Faith Anew, Daily Reflections Guiding You to Live in the Divine Will. Today's reflection is from the Book of Heaven by the servant of God Louisa Picaretta, july fourteenth, eighteen ninety nine, volume two. Let us begin in the will and name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, when your presence seems hidden and our hearts feel empty, strengthen our faith to trust that you are closer than ever. Teach us to embrace every cross you permit, to receive the guidance you provide through your church, and to surrender ourselves completely to your divine will. May your grace sustain us until faith gives way to perfect union with you. Amen. A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Hebrews, chapter thirteen, verses five and six. Let your life be free from love of money, but be content with what you have, for he has said I will never forsake you or abandon you. Thus we may say with confidence The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me? The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph fifteen fifty one. This priesthood is ministerial. That office, which the Lord committed to the pastors of his people, is in the strict sense of the term a service. It is entirely related to Christ and to men. It depends entirely on Christ and on his unique priesthood. It has been instituted for the good of men and the communion of the church. Let us now enter into a lesson of trust that shines even through spiritual darkness. With humble hearts, let us listen to today's passage from the Book of Heaven. Louisa writes These days my adorable Jesus continues to make himself seen very few times. His visit is like a flash. When one would want to keep on looking, it is already gone, and if sometimes he stays for a little while, it is almost always in silence. I remember that after I had shed most bitter tears, Jesus made himself seen, and since I lamented to him that he had left me, Jesus called many angels and saints to himself, and turning to them he said Listen to what she says, that I have left her. Tell her a little can I leave those who love me? She has loved me. How can I leave her? The saints were in agreement with the Lord, and I remained more humiliated and confused than before. Another time, after I had said to him, In the end, you will end up leaving me completely, Jesus said to me. Daughter, I cannot leave you, and as a pledge of this I have placed my sufferings in you. Then, while I was occupied with this thought, how is it, Lord, that you have permitted the coming of the confessor? Everything could have passed between me and you. In one instant I found myself outside of myself lying on a cross, but there was no one who could nail me to it. I began to pray the Lord to come to crucify me himself. And Jesus came and told me, See how necessary it is for the priest to be in the middle of my works? And this is just help to complete the crucifixion. Indeed, without anybody else, you cannot crucify yourself by yourself. It always takes the help of others. Many sincere believers experience moments when God seems distant. Prayer feels dry. Consolations disappear, and we wonder whether the Lord has withdrawn from us. Today's reading reminds us that these feelings are not reliable indicators of God's presence. Jesus responds to Louisa's fears in a remarkable way. Rather than simply reassuring her himself, he calls upon the angels and saints to testify that he cannot abandon a soul that truly loves him. Love establishes a bond that God himself remains faithful to. While our emotions may fluctuate, his love never does. This is an important lesson for anyone striving to live in the divine will. Our relationship with God cannot be built upon feelings alone. Instead, it is founded upon faith, trust, and the certainty of his promises. Often, when we feel his presence the least, he is inviting us to love him with greater purity, not because of what we experience, but because of who he is. Jesus also reveals another profound truth. He tells Louisa that he has placed his sufferings within her as a pledge that he will never leave her. The crosses we carry with Christ are not signs of abandonment, but signs of intimate union. When accepted in the divine will, suffering becomes participation in the redeeming work of Jesus. What appears to be loss becomes communion. Finally, Jesus explains why the priest is necessary in completing her crucifixion. This reminds us that God ordinarily dispenses his grace through the church he established. The sacraments, spiritual direction, the ministry of priests are not obstacles between us and Jesus, they are gifts through which He continues his saving work. Humility accepts the means God has chosen rather than insisting upon our own. As we strive to live in the divine will, today's reading invites us to trust beyond feelings, embrace the crosses that unite us more closely to Christ, and gratefully receive the guidance and sacramental life of the Church. In doing so, we discover that the Lord has been faithfully accompanying us all along, even when his presence seemed hidden. Let us pray. Lord Jesus, when I cannot feel your presence, strengthen my faith to believe that you remain with me. Help me to welcome every cross you permit as an opportunity to share more deeply in your life. Give me humility to receive the gifts you offer through your church and confidence to follow wherever your divine will leads. May I never measure your love by my feelings, but always by your unfailing promises. Keep me faithful until the day I behold you face to face. Amen. Thank you for joining your faith anew today. May you walk through every moment of this day with the quiet confidence that the Lord never abandons the soul that continues to love him. Until tomorrow, stay in his will, and your faith will be made anew.
