5:1 वह इस भीड़ को देखकर, पहाड़ पर चढ़ गया; और जब बैठ गया तो उसके चेले उसके पास आए।

5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

5:2 और वह अपना मुंह खोलकर उन्हें यह उपदेश देने लगा,

5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

5:3 धन्य हैं वे, जो मन के दीन हैं, क्योंकि स्वर्ग का राज्य उन्हीं का है।

5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

5:4 धन्य हैं वे, जो शोक करते हैं, क्योंकि वे शांति पाएंगे।

5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5:5 धन्य हैं वे, जो नम्र हैं, क्योंकि वे पृथ्वी के अधिकारी होंगे।

5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

5:6 धन्य हैं वे जो धर्म के भूखे और प्यासे हैं, क्योंकि वे तृप्त किये जाएंगे।

5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

5:7 धन्य हैं वे, जो दयावन्त हैं, क्योंकि उन पर दया की जाएगी।

5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

5:8 धन्य हैं वे, जिन के मन शुद्ध हैं, क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर को देखेंगे।

5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

5:9 धन्य हैं वे, जो मेल करवाने वाले हैं, क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर के पुत्र कहलाएंगे।

5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

5:10 धन्य हैं वे, जो धर्म के कारण सताए जाते हैं, क्योंकि स्वर्ग का राज्य उन्हीं का है।

5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

5:11 धन्य हो तुम, जब मनुष्य मेरे कारण तुम्हारी निन्दा करें, और सताएं और झूठ बोल बोलकर तुम्हरो विरोध में सब प्रकार की बुरी बात कहें।

5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

5:12 आनन्दित और मगन होना क्योंकि तुम्हारे लिये स्वर्ग में बड़ा फल है इसलिये कि उन्होंने उन भविष्यद्वक्ताओं को जो तुम से पहिले थे इसी रीति से सताया था॥

5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

5:13 तुम पृथ्वी के नमक हो; परन्तु यदि नमक का स्वाद बिगड़ जाए, तो वह फिर किस वस्तु से नमकीन किया जाएगा? फिर वह किसी काम का नहीं, केवल इस के कि बाहर फेंका जाए और मनुष्यों के पैरों तले रौंदा जाए।

5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

5:14 तुम जगत की ज्योति हो; जो नगर पहाड़ पर बसा हुआ है वह छिप नहीं सकता।

5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

5:15 और लोग दिया जलाकर पैमाने के नीचे नहीं परन्तु दीवट पर रखते हैं, तब उस से घर के सब लोगों को प्रकाश पहुंचता है।

5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

5:16 उसी प्रकार तुम्हारा उजियाला मनुष्यों के साम्हने चमके कि वे तुम्हारे भले कामों को देखकर तुम्हारे पिता की, जो स्वर्ग में हैं, बड़ाई करें॥

5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

5:17 यह न समझो, कि मैं व्यवस्था था भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तकों को लोप करने आया हूं।

5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

5:18 लोप करने नहीं, परन्तु पूरा करने आया हूं, क्योंकि मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि जब तक आकाश और पृथ्वी टल न जाएं, तब तक व्यवस्था से एक मात्रा या बिन्दु भी बिना पूरा हुए नहीं टलेगा।

5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

5:19 इसलिये जो कोई इन छोटी से छोटी आज्ञाओं में से किसी एक को तोड़े, और वैसा ही लोगों को सिखाए, वह स्वर्ग के राज्य में सब से छोटा कहलाएगा; परन्तु जो कोई उन का पालन करेगा और उन्हें सिखाएगा, वही स्वर्ग के राज्य में महान कहलाएगा।

5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

5:20 क्योंकि मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि यदि तुम्हारी धामिर्कता शास्त्रियों और फरीसियों की धामिर्कता से बढ़कर न हो, तो तुम स्वर्ग के राज्य में कभी प्रवेश करने न पाओगे॥

5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

5:21 तुम सुन चुके हो, कि पूर्वकाल के लोगों से कहा गया था कि हत्या न करना, और जो कोई हत्या करेगा वह कचहरी में दण्ड के योग्य होगा।

5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

5:22 परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि जो कोई अपने भाई पर क्रोध करेगा, वह कचहरी में दण्ड के योग्य होगा: और जो कोई अपने भाई को निकम्मा कहेगा वह महासभा में दण्ड के योग्य होगा; और जो कोई कहे “अरे मूर्ख” वह नरक की आग के दण्ड के योग्य होगा।

5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

5:23 इसलिये यदि तू अपनी भेंट वेदी पर लाए, और वहां तू स्मरण करे, कि मेरे भाई के मन में मेरी ओर से कुछ विरोध है, तो अपनी भेंट वहीं वेदी के साम्हने छोड़ दे।

5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

5:24 और जाकर पहिले अपने भाई से मेल मिलाप कर; तब आकर अपनी भेंट चढ़ा।

5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

5:25 जब तक तू अपने मुद्दई के साथ मार्ग ही में हैं, उस से झटपट मेल मिलाप कर ले कहीं ऐसा न हो कि मुद्दई तुझे हाकिम को सौंपे, और हाकिम तुझे सिपाही को सौंप दे और तू बन्दीगृह में डाल दिया जाए।

5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

5:26 मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं कि जब तक तू कौड़ी कौड़ी भर न दे तब तक वहां से छूटने न पाएगा॥

5:26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

5:27 तुम सुन चुके हो कि कहा गया था, कि व्यभिचार न करना।

5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

5:28 परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि जो कोई किसी स्त्री पर कुदृष्टि डाले वह अपने मन में उस से व्यभिचार कर चुका।

5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

5:29 यदि तेरी दाहिनी आंख तुझे ठोकर खिलाए, तो उसे निकालकर अपने पास से फेंक दे; क्योंकि तेरे लिये यही भला है कि तेरे अंगों में से एक नाश हो जाए और तेरा सारा शरीर नरक में न डाला जाए।

5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

5:30 और यदि तेरा दाहिना हाथ तुझे ठोकर खिलाए, तो उस को काटकर अपने पास से फेंक दे, क्योंकि तेरे लिये यही भला है, कि तेरे अंगों में से एक नाश हो जाए और तेरा सारा शरीर नरक में न डाला जाए॥

5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

5:31 यह भी कहा गया था, कि जो कोई अपनी पत्नी को त्याग दे तो उसे त्यागपत्र दे।

5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

5:32 परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं कि जो कोई अपनी पत्नी को व्यभिचार के सिवा किसी और कारण से छोड़ दे, तो वह उस से व्यभिचार करवाता है; और जो कोई उस त्यागी हुई से ब्याह करे, वह व्यभिचार करता है॥

5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

5:33 फिर तुम सुन चुके हो, कि पूर्वकाल के लोगों से कहा गया था कि झूठी शपथ न खाना, परन्तु प्रभु के लिये अपनी शपथ को पूरी करना।

5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

5:34 परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि कभी शपथ न खाना; न तो स्वर्ग की, क्योंकि वह परमेश्वर का सिंहासन है।

5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

5:35 न धरती की, क्योंकि वह उसके पांवों की चौकी है; न यरूशलेम की, क्योंकि वह महाराजा का नगर है।

5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

5:36 अपने सिर की भी शपथ न खाना क्योंकि तू एक बाल को भी न उजला, न काला कर सकता है।

5:36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

5:37 परन्तु तुम्हारी बात हां की हां, या नहीं की नहीं हो; क्योंकि जो कुछ इस से अधिक होता है वह बुराई से होता है॥

5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

5:38 तुम सुन चुके हो, कि कहा गया था, कि आंख के बदले आंख, और दांत के बदले दांत।

5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

5:39 परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि बुरे का सामना न करना; परन्तु जो कोई तेरे दाहिने गाल पर थप्पड़ मारे, उस की ओर दूसरा भी फेर दे।

5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

5:40 और यदि कोई तुझ पर नालिश करके तेरा कुरता लेना चाहे, तो उसे दोहर भी ले लेने दे।

5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

5:41 और जो कोई तुझे कोस भर बेगार में ले जाए तो उसके साथ दो कोस चला जा।

5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

5:42 जो कोई तुझ से मांगे, उसे दे; और जो तुझ से उधार लेना चाहे, उस से मुंह न मोड़॥

5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

5:43 तुम सुन चुके हो, कि कहा गया था; कि अपने पड़ोसी से प्रेम रखना, और अपने बैरी से बैर।

5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

5:44 .परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि अपने बैरियों से प्रेम रखो और अपने सताने वालों के लिये प्रार्थना करो।

5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

5:45 जिस से तुम अपने स्वर्गीय पिता की सन्तान ठहरोगे क्योंकि वह भलों और बुरों दोनो पर अपना सूर्य उदय करता है, और धमिर्यों और अधमिर्यों दोनों पर मेंह बरसाता है।

5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

5:46 क्योंकि यदि तुम अपने प्रेम रखने वालों ही से प्रेम रखो, तो तुम्हारे लिये क्या फल होगा? क्या महसूल लेने वाले भी ऐसा ही नहीं करते?

5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

5:47 और यदि तुम केवल अपने भाइयों ही को नमस्कार करो, तो कौन सा बड़ा काम करते हो? क्या अन्यजाति भी ऐसा नहीं करते?

5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

5:48 इसलिये चाहिये कि तुम सिद्ध बनो, जैसा तुम्हारा स्वर्गीय पिता सिद्ध है॥

5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

6:1 सावधान रहो! तुम मनुष्यों को दिखाने के लिये अपने धर्म के काम न करो, नहीं तो अपने स्वर्गीय पिता से कुछ भी फल न पाओगे।

6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

6:2 इसलिये जब तू दान करे, तो अपने आगे तुरही न बजवा, जैसा कपटी, सभाओं और गलियों में करते हैं, ताकि लोग उन की बड़ाई करें, मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि वे अपना फल पा चुके।

6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6:3 परन्तु जब तू दान करे, तो जो तेरा दाहिना हाथ करता है, उसे तेरा बांया हाथ न जानने पाए।

6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

6:4 ताकि तेरा दान गुप्त रहे; और तब तेरा पिता जो गुप्त में देखता है, तुझे प्रतिफल देगा॥

6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

6:5 और जब तू प्रार्थना करे, तो कपटियों के समान न हो क्योंकि लोगों को दिखाने के लिये सभाओं में और सड़कों के मोड़ों पर खड़े होकर प्रार्थना करना उन को अच्छा लगता है; मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि वे अपना प्रतिफल पा चुके।

6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6:6 परन्तु जब तू प्रार्थना करे, तो अपनी कोठरी में जा; और द्वार बन्द कर के अपने पिता से जो गुप्त में है प्रार्थना कर; और तब तेरा पिता जो गुप्त में देखता है, तुझे प्रतिफल देगा।

6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

6:7 प्रार्थना करते समय अन्यजातियों की नाईं बक बक न करो; क्योंकि वे समझते हैं कि उनके बहुत बोलने से उन की सुनी जाएगी।

6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

6:8 सो तुम उन की नाईं न बनो, क्योंकि तुम्हारा पिता तुम्हारे मांगने से पहिले ही जानता है, कि तुम्हारी क्या क्या आवश्यक्ता है।

6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

6:9 सो तुम इस रीति से प्रार्थना किया करो; “हे हमारे पिता, तू जो स्वर्ग में है; तेरा नाम पवित्र माना जाए।

6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

6:10 तेरा राज्य आए; तेरी इच्छा जैसी स्वर्ग में पूरी होती है, वैसे पृथ्वी पर भी हो।

6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

6:11 हमारी दिन भर की रोटी आज हमें दे।

6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

6:12 और जिस प्रकार हम ने अपने अपराधियों को क्षमा किया है, वैसे ही तू भी हमारे अपराधों को क्षमा कर।

6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

6:13 और हमें परीक्षा में न ला, परन्तु बुराई से बचा; क्योंकि राज्य और पराक्रम और महिमा सदा तेरे ही हैं।” आमीन।

6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

6:14 इसलिये यदि तुम मनुष्य के अपराध क्षमा करोगे, तो तुम्हारा स्वर्गीय पिता भी तुम्हें क्षमा करेगा।

6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

6:15 और यदि तुम मनुष्यों के अपराध क्षमा न करोगे, तो तुम्हारा पिता भी तुम्हारे अपराध क्षमा न करेगा॥

6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

6:16 जब तुम उपवास करो, तो कपटियों की नाईं तुम्हारे मुंह पर उदासी न छाई रहे, क्योंकि वे अपना मुंह बनाए रहते हैं, ताकि लोग उन्हें उपवासी जानें; मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि वे अपना प्रतिफल पा चुके।

6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6:17 परन्तु जब तू उपवास करे तो अपने सिर पर तेल मल और मुंह धो।

6:17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

6:18 ताकि लोग नहीं परन्तु तेरा पिता जो गुप्त में है, तुझे उपवासी जाने; इस दशा में तेरा पिता जो गुप्त में देखता है, तुझे प्रतिफल देगा॥

6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

6:19 अपने लिये पृथ्वी पर धन इकट्ठा न करो; जहां कीड़ा और काई बिगाड़ते हैं, और जहां चोर सेंध लगाते और चुराते हैं।

6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

6:20 परन्तु अपने लिये स्वर्ग में धन इकट्ठा करो, जहां न तो कीड़ा, और न काई बिगाड़ते हैं, और जहां चोर न सेंध लगाते और न चुराते हैं।

6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

6:21 क्योंकि जहां तेरा धन है वहां तेरा मन भी लगा रहेगा।

6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

6:22 शरीर का दिया आंख है: इसलिये यदि तेरी आंख निर्मल हो, तो तेरा सारा शरीर भी उजियाला होगा।

6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

6:23 परन्तु यदि तेरी आंख बुरी हो, तो तेरा सारा शरीर भी अन्धियारा होगा; इस कारण वह उजियाला जो तुझ में है यदि अन्धकार हो तो वह अन्धकार कैसा बड़ा होगा।

6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

6:24 कोई मनुष्य दो स्वामियों की सेवा नहीं कर सकता, क्योंकि वह एक से बैर ओर दूसरे से प्रेम रखेगा, वा एक से मिला रहेगा और दूसरे को तुच्छ जानेगा; “तुम परमेश्वर और धन दोनो की सेवा नहीं कर सकते”।

6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

6:25 इसलिये मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि अपने प्राण के लिये यह चिन्ता न करना कि हम क्या खाएंगे? और क्या पीएंगे? और न अपने शरीर के लिये कि क्या पहिनेंगे? क्या प्राण भोजन से, और शरीर वस्त्र से बढ़कर नहीं?

6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

6:26 आकाश के पक्षियों को देखो! वे न बोते हैं, न काटते हैं, और न खत्तों में बटोरते हैं; तौभी तुम्हारा स्वर्गीय पिता उन को खिलाता है; क्या तुम उन से अधिक मूल्य नहीं रखते।

6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

6:27 तुम में कौन है, जो चिन्ता करके अपनी अवस्था में एक घड़ी भी बढ़ा सकता है

6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

6:28 और वस्त्र के लिये क्यों चिन्ता करते हो? जंगली सोसनों पर ध्यान करो, कि वै कैसे बढ़ते हैं, वे न तो परिश्रम करते हैं, न कातते हैं।

6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

6:29 तौभी मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि सुलैमान भी, अपने सारे विभव में उन में से किसी के समान वस्त्र पहिने हुए न था।

6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

6:30 इसलिये जब परमेश्वर मैदान की घास को, जो आज है, और कल भाड़ में झोंकी जाएगी, ऐसा वस्त्र पहिनाता है, तो हे अल्पविश्वासियों, तुम को वह क्योंकर न पहिनाएगा?

6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

6:32 क्योंकि अन्यजाति इन सब वस्तुओं की खोज में रहते हैं, और तुम्हारा स्वर्गीय पिता जानता है, कि तुम्हें ये सब वस्तुएं चाहिए।

6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

6:33 इसलिये पहिले तुम उसे राज्य और धर्म की खोज करो तो ये सब वस्तुएं भी तुम्हें मिल जाएंगी।

6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

6:34 सो कल के लिये चिन्ता न करो, क्योंकि कल का दिन अपनी चिन्ता आप कर लेगा; आज के लिये आज ही का दुख बहुत है॥

6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

7:1 दोष मत लगाओ, कि तुम पर भी दोष न लगाया जाए।

7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

7:2 क्योंकि जिस प्रकार तुम दोष लगाते हो, उसी प्रकार तुम पर भी दोष लगाया जाएगा; और जिस नाप से तुम नापते हो, उसी से तुम्हारे लिये भी नापा जाएगा।

7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

7:3 तू क्यों अपने भाई की आंख के तिनके को देखता है, और अपनी आंख का लट्ठा तुझे नहीं सूझता?।

7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

7:4 और जब तेरी ही आंख मे लट्ठा है, तो तू अपने भाई से क्योंकर कह सकता है, कि ला मैं तेरी आंख से तिनका निकाल दूं।

7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

7:5 हे कपटी, पहले अपनी आंख में से लट्ठा निकाल ले, तब तू अपने भाई की आंख का तिनका भली भांति देखकर निकाल सकेगा॥

7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

7:6 पवित्र वस्तु कुत्तों को न दो, और अपने मोती सूअरों के आगे मत डालो; ऐसा न हो कि वे उन्हें पांवों तले रौंदें और पलट कर तुम को फाड़ डालें॥

7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

7:7 मांगो, तो तुम्हें दिया जाएगा; ढूंढ़ो, तो तुम पाओगे; खटखटाओ, तो तुम्हारे लिये खोला जाएगा।

7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

7:8 क्योंकि जो कोई मांगता है, उसे मिलता है; और जो ढूंढ़ता है, वह पाता है और जो खटखटाता है, उसके लिये खोला जाएगा।

7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

7:9 तुम में से ऐसा कौन मनुष्य है, कि यदि उसका पुत्र उस से रोटी मांगे, तो वह उसे पत्थर दे?

7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

7:10 वा मछली मांगे, तो उसे सांप दे?

7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

7:11 सो जब तुम बुरे होकर, अपने बच्चों को अच्छी वस्तुएं देना जानते हो, तो तुम्हारा स्वर्गीय पिता अपने मांगने वालों को अच्छी वस्तुएं क्यों न देगा?

7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

7:12 इस कारण जो कुछ तुम चाहते हो, कि मनुष्य तुम्हारे साथ करें, तुम भी उन के साथ वैसा ही करो; क्योंकि व्यवस्था और भविष्यद्वक्तओं की शिक्षा यही है॥

7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

7:13 सकेत फाटक से प्रवेश करो, क्योंकि चौड़ा है वह फाटक और चाकल है वह मार्ग जो विनाश को पहुंचाता है; और बहुतेरे हैं जो उस से प्रवेश करते हैं।

7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

7:14 क्योंकि सकेत है वह फाटक और सकरा है वह मार्ग जो जीवन को पहुंचाता है, और थोड़े हैं जो उसे पाते हैं॥

7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

7:15 झूठे भविष्यद्वक्ताओं से सावधान रहो, जो भेड़ों के भेष में तुम्हारे पास आते हैं, परन्तु अन्तर में फाड़ने वाले भेडिए हैं।

7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

7:16 उन के फलों से तुम उन्हें पहचान लोग क्या झाडिय़ों से अंगूर, वा ऊंटकटारों से अंजीर तोड़ते हैं?

7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

7:17 इसी प्रकार हर एक अच्छा पेड़ अच्छा फल लाता है और निकम्मा पेड़ बुरा फल लाता है।

7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

7:18 अच्छा पेड़ बुरा फल नहीं ला सकता, और न निकम्मा पेड़ अच्छा फल ला सकता है।

7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

7:19 जो जो पेड़ अच्छा फल नहीं लाता, वह काटा और आग में डाला जाता है।

7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

7:20 सो उन के फलों से तुम उन्हें पहचान लोगे।

7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

7:21 जो मुझ से, हे प्रभु, हे प्रभु कहता है, उन में से हर एक स्वर्ग के राज्य में प्रवेश न करेगा, परन्तु वही जो मेरे स्वर्गीय पिता की इच्छा पर चलता है।

7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

7:22 उस दिन बहुतेरे मुझ से कहेंगे; हे प्रभु, हे प्रभु, क्या हम ने तेरे नाम से भविष्यद्वाणी नहीं की, और तेरे नाम से दुष्टात्माओं को नहीं निकाला, और तेरे नाम से बहुत अचम्भे के काम नहीं किए?

7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

7:23 तब मैं उन से खुलकर कह दूंगा कि मैं ने तुम को कभी नहीं जाना, हे कुकर्म करने वालों, मेरे पास से चले जाओ।

7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

7:24 इसलिये जो कोई मेरी ये बातें सुनकर उन्हें मानता है वह उस बुद्धिमान मनुष्य की नाईं ठहरेगा जिस ने अपना घर चट्टान पर बनाया।

7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

7:25 और मेंह बरसा और बाढ़ें आईं, और आन्धियां चलीं, और उस घर पर टक्करें लगीं, परन्तु वह नहीं गिरा, क्योंकि उस की नेव चट्टान पर डाली गई थी।

7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

7:26 परन्तु जो कोई मेरी ये बातें सुनता है और उन पर नहीं चलता वह उस निर्बुद्धि मनुष्य की नाईं ठहरेगा जिस ने अपना घर बालू पर बनाया।

7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

7:27 और मेंह बरसा, और बाढ़ें आईं, और आन्धियां चलीं, और उस घर पर टक्करें लगीं और वह गिरकर सत्यानाश हो गया॥

7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

7:28 जब यीशु ये बातें कह चुका, तो ऐसा हुआ कि भीड़ उसके उपदेश से चकित हुई।

7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

7:29 क्योंकि वह उन के शास्त्रियों के समान नहीं परन्तु अधिकारी की नाईं उन्हें उपदेश देता था॥

7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
