Welcome to Enabled in Academia, my name is Lienkie Diedericks, your host creator and hopefully not the only listener of this podcast about how to survive and thrive in academia as a disabled chronically ill, and all neurodiverse individual. I'm a PhD candidate at King's College London and our Center for doctoral studies is helping to fund this project. Over the next few episodes, I'll be speaking to a range of guest speakers, disability advisors, mentors, disabled academics at various stages of their careers and disabled students about access problems, ways of seeking and creating support, and important issues that are often neglected in academic institutions. The first few episodes will include guest speakers, specifically from Kings, and I hope in later episodes to broaden our range of guests from institutions across the globe enabled access academia launches on the eighth of September and will be available on all major platforms like Spotify, Apple podcasts and Amazon audible.
