Lisa Hopkins, Wide Open Stages Season 13 Episode 34

Let us know what you enjoy about the show!

Feeling stuck is a universal human experience—whether creatively blocked, emotionally frozen, or simply overwhelmed by life's complexities. This gentle guided meditation creates a sanctuary where you can explore what "stuckness" actually feels like in your body and mind, without immediately trying to fix or change it.

Through focused breathing and visualization, you'll learn to create space around whatever feels constricted or immobile. Rather than fighting against resistance, this practice invites you to approach it with curiosity and compassion, understanding that sometimes what we resist most simply wants to be acknowledged. As the meditation progresses, you'll be guided to recognize that "stuck is just a story" and that movement begins with awareness.

The heart of this practice lies in its permission to soften into uncertainty. With the affirmation "I don't need all the answers right now," you're invited to trust that clarity will emerge in its own time. Through visualizing a growing light within yourself, you'll reconnect with your inner capacity that hasn't disappeared but has perhaps gone quiet amidst life's demands.

Whether you're facing creative blocks, decision paralysis, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stagnant in your personal growth, this meditation offers a pathway back to possibility. The subtle shifts you experience during these ten minutes may be exactly what you need to see your situation with fresh eyes. Take this newfound spaciousness with you as you return to your day, carrying the reminder that sometimes the smallest shift in perspective can create the momentum needed to move forward again. How might your relationship with "stuckness" change if you approached it as a messenger rather than an obstacle?

Speaker 1:

Hey there, this is a guided meditation for when you're feeling stuck. We all feel stuck sometimes, so I'm hoping this will help create some space so that you can move forward. So that you can move forward. So, when you're ready, find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, and allow your body to settle, invite the space and allow yourself to relax, and then gently close your eyes if that feels safe. Nothing to do, just breathe. Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly out through your mouth, allowing your shoulders to drop Again, inhaling gently, filling your belly, and release, feel the weight of your body, supported by the ground beneath you. There's nowhere you need to be, but here. There's nothing to fix right now. Nowhere to be, but here.

Speaker 1:

Bring your attention inward, without judgment, and I want you simply to notice what comes up for you when I ask you what does stuck feel like for you today? Is it tightness, restlessness, stillness? What does stuck feel like for you today? Just notice no need to change it. Let it speak to you like a messenger, a whisper that says you've paused long enough. Let's look gently, create space Now.

Speaker 1:

Imagine a little more room around whatever feels stuck. Imagine space expanding gently around it. If your thoughts are tangled, imagine them loosening like threads in warm water. Breathe into this toughness, not to push it away, but to cradle it with compassion. Sometimes the thing we're resisting just wants to be acknowledged. Keep imagining space in these places.

Speaker 1:

You might say quietly to yourself, even in this moment, I am allowed to soften. Stuck is just a story. Movement and motion begin with awareness. I trust that clarity will come. I don't need all the answers right now, mmm. Feel the spaciousness you've just created Melting Easy. Feel the spaciousness you've just created melting easy.

Speaker 1:

Visualize a small light inside you, maybe in your heart or your belly or your mind. With each breath, imagine that light growing just slightly. This is your energy, your capacity. It's not gone, it's just been quiet. With every inhale you invite it back, not with force, but with love. Take a few deep breaths here and notice, just notice Space. Just notice space, the places where there are spaces. Spaces allow us to see more clearly because we are not stuck in the mud. Begin to bring your awareness back to your body when you're ready. Wiggle your fingers or toes. Notice how it feels to breathe. Now, if anything's changed, if nothing has changed, that's okay. Sometimes the shift is enough. Take one final deep breath and when you're ready, open your eyes. Open your eyes, bring the softness with you as you return to your day, namaste.
