Speaker 1:

Hey there, if your mind is still busy spinning with thoughts, hopes, questions, you're not alone. Sometimes it's not the worry that keeps us awake. Sometimes it's the hope, the longing, the vision, the thing we wish would happen or feel we're still waiting on. It's that connection to feeling like things would be better if, or will be better when, and it takes us off of living in the moment. Hope is beautiful, but when we hold it too tightly it can become another kind of pressure, another weight that we carry with us into bed. It takes up a lot of mental energy and you don't need to carry it tonight, my friend. You get to rest. So I've created this meditation for you to create space to relax and sleep. Let's start with your breath. Inhale slowly through your nose and gently release it through your mouth, again soft to inhale and even softer exhale. Again soft to inhale and even softer exhale. Feel your head getting heavier against the pillow. Let your shoulders drop your jaw. Soften your belly, release. You are being held, no need to grip or grasp. Trust that you are supported.

Speaker 1:

Now imagine that every thought, every loop, every rumination, every hope is gently taking shape above you like soft paper lanterns. Some are bright, with dreams hovering in the distance. Some are heavy with wondering and responsibility. Some are flickering with what-ifs. You don't need to extinguish them, just notice them. Now imagine yourself placing each lantern in a small boat and setting it on the surface of a quiet lake. By one, they drift, not away from you, but away from now. You can return to them in the morning if you wish, or you can let them go, but for now you are off duty. Watch them drift away. If part of you is still holding, holding hope, holding to expectations, trying to control outcomes, if part of you is still doing this, place your hand gently on your chest, feel your heartbeat, feel your heartbeat, feel the rise and fall of your breath. You don't have to give up on what you want. You don't have to hold it all tonight either.

Speaker 1:

Sleep is what's going to help you, and hope is allowed to rest as well. There's absolutely nothing that thinking about stuff is going to do except keep you from glorious sleep. So I want you to trust me as you picture yourself in a quiet field under a wide night, starry sky. The moon is watching over you. The stars are clear and steady. The stars are clear and steady. You lay the weight of these thoughts that hold you down. Beside you, you let go of hope for a moment. Not discarded, just no longer clutched. You're allowed to sleep.

Speaker 1:

Before it all makes sense, things will unfold as things will unfold, exactly how they're supposed to, and no amount of ruminating thoughts is going to help you. Right now, you are allowed to rest, even while things are becoming. I know and I understand there's so much you want to do, so much you feel burdened to do, so much others want from you and you have dreams to follow and paths to forge. But, my friend, you're allowed to trust that rest is part of the becoming. So I invite you to let yourself drift right now, carried by the calm knowing that you are not behind, knowing that you are not late, knowing that you are not late and believing that you have everything you need right now, that you are already enough.

Speaker 1:

Let your breath stay easy, allow the space between thoughts to grow wider, floating away, floating away as you too, drift into the stars, with the moon watching over you. You are safe and supported. Trust that possibility is all around you and there's nothing you need to do except sleep. You already know how to do it. Trust and let it go. Absolutely nothing to fear, my friends. You are safe. You are safe, you are here, you are loved. Breathe in the gratitude of the. Now you get to rest. Now it's your time, gently drift. Your body is resting, heart is softening. You've already done enough. Sleep will come. Trust, just breathe, namaste.
