Returning to Focus: A 9-Minute Reset

Let us know what you enjoy about the show!
Your mind doesn’t need more pressure—it needs a clean reset.
When you’re scattered, unfocused, or pulled in five directions at once, forcing productivity often backfires. This 9-minute guided meditation helps you slow down, reset your attention, and return to focus—without trying to clear your mind or control your thoughts.
We begin by settling the body with simple breathwork: a slow inhale through the nose, a gentle exhale through the mouth, and a soft release in the shoulders, jaw, and eyes. From there, we normalize the busy mind and introduce two powerful focus tools you can use anytime—letting thoughts settle like snow in a snow globe, and placing distractions aside like putting a book back on the shelf.
Nothing is denied. Everything can wait.
At the center of this practice is one question:
What deserves my attention right now?
You’ll be guided to let the answer arise naturally, then gently gather your attention—like sunlight through a magnifying glass—into one clear point of focus.
This is a simple, repeatable reset for clarity, concentration, and calm—whether you’re at your desk, between meetings, or about to begin meaningful work.
If this helped, follow or subscribe for more guided meditations and focus resets.

Gentle Reset For Scattered Minds
Lisa HopkinsHey there. Have you been feeling scattered or unfocused lately? If so, this is a short moment to return to yourself, not to force concentration, and not to clear your mind so much as to simply reconnect with where your attention wants to go. So when you're ready, find a comfortable position wherever you can, wherever feels right, just to take these moments to recalibrate consciously. Seated is ideal, but standing works too, lying down, whatever feels right for you. And before you close your eyes, I invite you just to take a breath in in this space. And as you exhale it, gently close your eyes. Or simply soften your gaze toward the floor and the space in front of you, whatever feels right. And now with intention, I want you to take a slow breath in through your nose and exhale gently through your mouth. Again, inhaling, maybe holding up the top, and then exhaling a little bit longer than the inhale. Let your shoulders drop just a little. Unclench your jaw and soften the small muscles around your eyes. There's nothing to fix. You don't need to fix anything. Nothing needs to change. You don't need to change anything. Simply notice that you are here. Take another deep breath in. And as you breathe out, imagine your attention settling. Settling like snow falling slowly in a snow globe, or like leaves gently drifting down to the ground. Everything that felt stirred up. Thoughts, distractions, unfinished tasks. Feel them beginning to settle naturally. There's nothing wrong with a busy mind. Minds generate thoughts. That's what they do. But right now, in this moment, we're simply choosing where to place our attention. Draw your awareness to your breathing. Notice the rise of your chest as you inhale, and the gentle fall as you exhale. You might notice thoughts trying to pull you away. A to-do list, a conversation, something unfinished, and that's completely normal. And so when that happens, simply acknowledge it, and imagine placing that thought gently to the side, like setting a book back on the shelf. You can return to it later if you feel like it. But right now we're choosing one place for our attention. One breath, one moment, one small intentional point of focus. Continue breathing naturally. And with each inhale, feel clarity coming in, invite it. Each inhale bringing a little clarity, and each exhale releasing the scattered energy of the day. Let it go. Now gently ask yourself this simple question. What deserves my attention right now? Not what is loudest, not what is most urgent, but what truly deserves your energy in this moment. Allow the answer to arrive without forcing it. Maybe it's a single task. Maybe it's a conversation you're about to have. A piece of creative work, or simply the next step in front of you. Imagine gathering your attention like sunlight through a magnifying glass, bringing scattered rays together into one clear point. Focus doesn't require tension. It comes from alignment, from intention, from choice. Take one more slow breath in, and as you exhale, allow that sense of clarity to settle into your body. Your mind does not have to do everything right now. It's only one thing at a time. Focus on one thing and do the next thing. When you're ready, gently open your eyes. There are no right or wrong answers. There's just one tiny step. Bring your focus in. Pinpoint it like that sunlight through a magnifying glass. And carry the sense of focus with you. One moment, one breath, one step at a time. You've got this. Namaste, my friends.
