Pentair was the first out on the market with their cartridge type D.E. filter about 8 years ago and now there are more choices on the market today. You have of course the Pentair Quad D.E. Filter, the Hayward DEP 500 Series Pleated Element D.E. Filter, the Jacuzzi J-DEQ80 80 sq. ft. D.E. Cartridge and the Sta-Rite SMD Series Filters. Are these cartridge type D.E. filters better than the old Grid Type D.E. Filters?
