Privacy—is it a convenience or a right?

• Facebook wants your date of birth when you register. Why?
• Tayo isn't happy about that, nor about myriad other intrusions on his privacy from a wide variety of organisations.
• Tony is more sanguine, arguing that for the sake of our convenience, we must accept a certain loss of privacy.
