For those who hear "Black lives matter as a threat" it just might be that we should hear it as a cry for freedom that we who are white should grieve that this cry is still so necessary 400 years after the slave trade began and 200 years after the efforts of white evangelicals like William Wilberforce and Jonathan Blanchard.
