From Streams To The River: Compassion, Power, And The Simplicity Of The Gospel
What if the church has been drinking from streams while forgetting the river? We dig into Ezekiel’s four faces of God—the lion, the ox, the eagle, and the man—and ask how these facets can reshape our posture, our anointing, and our love for humanity. The heart of our talk is simple: unity in God’s nature means our expressions should harmonize, not compete.
We grapple with a hard truth: gifts can impress, but fruit convinces. Kindness, gentleness, and purity aren’t soft options; they are the proof the Holy Spirit is active. We share personal moments of pride, correction, and joy as we learn from voices outside our comfort language. What emerges is a call to carry power that flows from compassion, to speak in ways people can understand, and to honor every true stream as an expression of the same river from the throne of God.
From prophetic insight to practical discipleship, we challenge the idea that “busy in the spirit” excuses the lack of love. Jesus—fully God and fully man—embodies the fruit we need to imitate if transformation is going to last. We also prepare for a move of God that may look messy but holds a deep order: organized chaos that perfects the bride. Join us as we pray for purity, ask for bigger hearts, and seek the fullness of who Jesus is. If this resonates, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review telling us which “stream” has shaped your walk and where you’re hungry to grow next.

Hello, and welcome back to the Glory Culture Podcast Show. Today we're hanging out, we're talking about some things, and I'm sitting here with my can of Coca-Cola with a nostalgic Santa Claus drinking a glass bottle of Coke on it, and that just makes me happy. And just baked some cookies, and we thought, you know what? We were having this awesome conversation about the fore face of God. Let's sit down and talk about this. So hello, sitting here with David Yancy. Hi. Hi. I love being real. I hope you know that yes, we're professional ministers, but we're also real people that have a heart to see transformation in other people. And like for you to get to know God and feel his presence in your daily life. And it doesn't have to be overly complicated all the time. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00:I think there's a simplicity of the gospel that the Lord is really wanting to usher in right now. It's gonna take uh a little bit of pride swallowing for a lot of ministry leaders, um, which would we're no different than any of them, but it's about just my goodness, coming a reintroduction to the compassion of Christ and the purity of the Lord.
SPEAKER_01:Right. I feel like God is just bringing us back to the simplicity of the gospel, like truly, like he's reintroducing himself in a new way so that we could know the fullness of who he is, and we're not just ascending into the heavens and like I love all that stuff, but we have to have compassion and love paired with the mystical no, and and if they're not gonna identify that uh and identify with it, there's gonna be zero transformation because you're speaking a different language.
SPEAKER_00:Shoot, most of the church can't identify with it, and that doesn't negate it, of course. The mystical supernatural stuff is the Lord's will for you. And I love it. Oh, it's wonderful, but there are, as we were talking earlier, there are four faces to the Lord. And for anybody that's like, oh my gosh, what are they talking about? Well, we should read the Bible again, and we could look at Ezekiel, and you've got the lion, the ox, the eagle, the man. And what this is, is this is a constant, completely in full agreement and unison, different aspects of the Lord.
SPEAKER_01:Right.
SPEAKER_00:And we've been guilty of focusing on one and ignoring the others. And, you know, it's like, excuse me, we talk about like my stream is this, your stream is that, that stream over there that we don't really like. They they carry this, right? Well, okay, I don't know who came up with the the euphemism or the the the metaphor of streams, but it's actually really brilliant because all of the streams branch off of one thing, right? What would that be? The Lord, the river of God, the river of God that th flows from the throne and of the Lamb, right? We all come from one source, so uh each stream is just an expression of the main source, which is the thing that comes straight out of the Lord Himself, right? And there is not a disagreement in the Lord about his natures within himself, and so uh I think one of the things that the Lord is doing right now is he's attempting. Now you have the ability to say yes or no, Lord, but he is attempting to express the other faces of himself to you. Um, you know, the body of Christ, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Right. I feel like one, God is bringing us back to the simplicity of the gospel, and that's not to be lukewarm and do whatever you want. It's like, oh, I just read my Bible and go to church. That is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the fullness of who Jesus is, power and demonstration, sharing the gospel, carrying the fruit of the spirit, because Jesus was a man, fully God, yet fully man, who had the fruits of the spirit. He is our perfect example.
SPEAKER_00:So what it means to be fully human, right? The humanity aspect. Jesus was fully in humanity.
SPEAKER_01:Right. And if we're gonna, you know, be made into his likeness and his image, we need to have compassion and love and power, not just power. Like I I love the demonstrations, but there's gonna be no transformation without the compassion because all miracles flow out of compassion and love.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. And at the risk of going down the critical road, which I'm gonna try to avoid doing, what we are have seen for a while is uh a lack of purity in motive, a lack of, you know, the XYZ of basics of this fruit of the spirit, right? People that are flowing in this high-level prophetic or these high-level miracles, but they're not kind. I'm sorry, uh kindness is a fruit of the spirit, and we're seeing that come back.
SPEAKER_01:Right, right. My heart in this season, my cry to God, my God, is God make me pure, God make me holy, God make me righteous, and God expand my heart, expand my capacity to love people with compassion. That is where the transformation takes place. When you can look at somebody and give them a word of knowledge, prophesy to them, and they feel like enveloped by the love of God and they feel seen and loved, that is where the miracle takes place. It's that heart-to-heart connection. God speaks, heart-to-heart connection. And if we're supposed to be ministers, and and you are a minister, you don't need a platform and a microphone. You are a minister of the gospel, right? Yeah, we okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, yes, uh, we're we're getting the Lord is drawing people back to the fruit of the spirit. That includes kindness and gentleness. And you know, I heard, yeah, anyways, I heard someone once say, but I'm a high-level apostle, I don't have time for kindness, I'm dealing with things in the spirit that you don't know of. And that's true, there is some truth to that, but my lord, kindness being a fruit or a manifestation of evidence of the Holy Spirit being in your life. If you don't have time to show evidence of the Holy Spirit being at work in your life, then you're off course.
unknown:Right.
SPEAKER_01:I I just can't imagine Jesus being like, I don't have time to be kind, I don't have time to love. Yeah, I don't have time for compassion. I'm too caught up in the realm of the spirit right now.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, what we see is two people being too caught up in pride, but okay. But yeah, like I said, so all of this came from this morning because you're listening to other streams.
SPEAKER_01:Right. Like, like I said, I'm going after purity and love and compassion in this season, like really, like never before. There's just something on the inside of me that's like gravitating toward this side of God. And I want to be a real well-rounded person, human, and minister, so that I can portray Jesus to the world correctly. And my goodness, listening to this other person speak different stream than I am, different language, doesn't speak the language that I'm used to or that I even speak, but my goodness, it was pure gold and the purity and the love from what they were saying, just by discerning like their spirit, it was like, My goodness, we need all the the facets of God, we need everything.
SPEAKER_00:The streams need to not be in disagreement with one another or in superiority in their own mind of that there's no disagreement in the Lord, right? And if all the streams are coming from the river, then what what it's not there's no competition in God, right? And what we've come uh to expect lately is that my stream versus your stream versus their stream, and you know, I've been cornered by people from the most random places, like in the church or in the street, what's your denomination? Like, stop. There's nothing in the Lord that is upset within himself, right? This all streams from God, right? Everything streams from God. The river comes out, the the evangelistic side, the prophetic side, the apostolic side, the the the revivalist, all this stuff is an expression of himself, and there is no disagreement in himself.
SPEAKER_01:Right. Do you think the four faces of four faces of God is like competing against each other, going, look at me, no, look at me, no, look at me, no, look at me. Absolutely not. No, it's not. We need to know every face of God, not just one part of him. Like, God, Lord, make us more like you. God, open our eyes right now, Jesus' mighty name, to see you in your fullness, like every expression, Lord, show us what we are supposed to carry. In Jesus' mighty name, make us more like you, God. Draw us into your heart so that we can carry your heart, Lord.
SPEAKER_00:Man, yeah, no, it's it's good. Um it's yeah, it's it's gonna be a lot of fun to see what the Lord is doing and to see who's willing to partner with it. Uh, because it is gonna change some things, you know?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's gonna be messy. I know that for sure. This next move of God, like we are in a move of God, but like it's gonna get messier and it's not gonna make sense. And he's gonna use crazy.
SPEAKER_00:But it's a good mess.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's a good mess.
SPEAKER_00:It's an oily smearing fest, it's an orchestrated mess.
SPEAKER_01:You know, like um me, I organized chaos, okay. Like, but I know where everything is, that's what it's gonna look like, right?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, but it's all for the perfecting of the bride, Ephesians 4 11.
SPEAKER_01:Right.
SPEAKER_00:So, anyways.
SPEAKER_01:So, yeah, we love you so much, and today our prayer is that you open up the word, you dive deep into the word of God, and just get to know Jesus. Okay. We love you, and we will talk to you on the next podcast. See you later.
