Hello and welcome to another episode of 20 Minutes Post. My name's Max. Nate and Josh joining me as always, ready to dip into some of this weekend's racing and recap, the weekend that was, and what a weekend we had, boys, golden slipper day. But we're not going to start there. All the chats about J Mac breaking Ollie's record, getting 130 group ones to his name. Smashes the record at age 35, and geez, he doesn't look like he's stopping anytime soon. I mean, absolutely incredible. He did it in race number six aboard Autumn Boy, and then comes out in the very next race aboard Autumn Glow to notch up 131. I mean, geez, J Mac is absolutely airborne at the moment, Nathan. I mean, he's broken the record. Him and Chris Waller, great association as always. But yeah, words can't describe how good he is riding at the moment post-suspension. I mean, he's averaging about 12 group 1s a year. And it doesn't look like it's going to be easing up anytime soon. I mean, yeah, he's an absolute freak. And by the time that he's, you know, close to 40, maybe heads over to Hong Kong, a bit of time over there. He could be staring down 200 group ones in Australia, uh, New Zealand, and also all over the world. And that could be a very, very hard record for anyone to beat, brother. How are you doing today?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, doing well, Maxi. You're not wrong. Uh, you just have to stand and applaud uh the the young man that he is. Uh obviously Damien Oliver on track, watching him break the record. I thought it was a nice touch. You know, I think Channel 7 had the coverage there with him, and just sort of acknowledging the moment was just so special, and to do it so quickly, as you alluded to, still so young in terms of racing circles, um, and to do it on a couple of very special horses, and Matt Damon, if you don't mind, uh, which is very impressive in its own right. Good shout out to this movie megastar, big listener to the potty, uh, I've heard. But uh look, it was a great day of racing as well. Uh, you know, you talk about a day and an occasion to break that record, fitting that it's something like Golden Slippery. Wasn't the the big uh two-year-old feature, but Autumn Boy, sensational uh in the Rose Hill Guineas, uh getting it done really, really nicely. And Autumn Glow, I mean, what do we keep saying about the superlis for this mayor? I mean, she they keep talking about her like Baby Winx, and she keeps putting up Baby Winx numbers, and um, so look, it's impressive stuff. Um, sometimes the jocks, you know, they get their crop, they get their good uh horses, Josh. And and Joy Mack's no exception there. Talk about Hugh Bowman and his association with Winx, and you know, you can see the the sort of Group One level drop off a little bit uh if you took away that horse. But also the ones that he's been able to throw over the line, you think back in the past, that he's been able to to snag Group One glory on. He's he's had a couple of those as well. So uh congrat congratulations to James McDonald. And yeah, he was the headline stealer for the day, Josh, when you really uh look encompassed the entire day.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and a lot of people went out to Rose who were to watch him break that record too. Outstanding, uh, beat obviously Damian Oliver, like you mentioned, it was on track. A lot of the good good jockeys were there too. Darren Biedman, Shane Dye, Tommy Berry obviously congratulating him post-race as well. It was just a great day of racing there, boys. And um, yeah, I mean, you talk about um the amount the types of horses he's uh been able to ridden. A lot of jockeys only get one in a lifetime, but five that just come to mind for me are Done Deal, Thea Sistina, Fairy Elegant, Autumn Glow, and then Romantic Warrior. There's five. Nature Strip as well. So I mean, he's had a lot of great horses he's got on the ride, not just for Chris Waller, but like I said, Danny Sean, Murray Baker, when he first came over from New Zealand as a youngster. He won his first group one, I believe, over there at 16 years old. So it was a day to remember for J Mac. And he brought a lot of people to Rose Hill, which was good. And to see him win on a pack that race card like that was very great. So I was I was honoured to watch him uh break the record. And uh he's got the favorite and the two group ones at Rose Hill this weekend as well too, Maxi.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, oh not not sure if you mentioned, did you mention Animo alongside it as well? Um, exactly. No, you know, he didn't win every group one on all these horses, like he didn't win every group one aboard very elegant, but I mean he he was the main jockey, he was the main hoop. Um, you know, he also might not be to that same level, but what kind of really sort of jump started him since he came back from his suspension was Zaki, alongside Annabelle Nisham and Hercamp. I mean, he had a great association with that horse, and yes, he ended up winning, I think, about three or four or five group ones, and that then led on into Nature Strip and then yeah, into Via Sistina and Animo and all these other exceptional, exceptional thoroughbreds. And he's got a new one every year. He's got a new Ferrari in the shop every year, it seems like Nathan. I mean, the horses that he's riding at the moment are world class, and yes, he he does get the pick of them, but uh as a jockey he's earned like you see the way that he's able to lift his horses over the line and uh achieve the best out of every horse and position them so well and getting them to settle and just the consistency across the board, like you know, luck doesn't come into being a bit of a factor with too many of these rides just because he is so good. Um and one thing that came to mind like when he equaled the record for beating Linderman in the Ram at stakes was if you remember about two, three years ago, on the exact same day, uh J Mac wasn't able to get past Linderman when he was aboard Pericles in the Rose Hill Guineas, very similar race where it was a small field, six-horse field, Linderman up on speed and just kicked at the top of the straight. He wasn't able to lift Pericles over the line, and then this time he gets uh redemption over Linderman at Rose Hill Guineas at the same track and distance, equaling all these records. So that for me was a very, very special moment. And let's touch on that now with the horses in particular, starting with um Aliana. What an exceptional effort from this from this fantastic mayor. I mean, gets the win, the group one for this campaign, and on the short week back up as well. So yeah, onwards and upwards for this mayor. I mean, she's gonna be starting a very short price favourite come this weekend. We'll touch on that race in a sec. But last weekend, I mean, she went to I thought a I want to say another level because it was not easy getting past Linderman. Looked like he pinched it, but yeah, Aliana, she is special, Nathan.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the Linderman and uh Nash Rawilla combination, they get on so well, they know exactly what they need to do, jump, roll along, and play a game of catch me if you can. He just nails it every time, Nash, on this horse. We said coming back from Kayak Army, you're well spotted by you, Maxi. You gave it a good each way push, and even though it was only a two-div race uh to run into second was still a nice return if you went that way. So well found by you, but Aliana, she's just a very tough mare. Feel for Zach Lloyd a little bit. Uh the first two rides, obviously, he was on board against Autumn Glow, who's just an absolute Ferrari, as you alluded to, was exceptional in those two runs. And then J Mac, he reaps the spoils, and you know, you like you alluded to, you deserve it when you put in those hard that that hard work. And yeah, sometimes, you know, you you don't do necessarily do the early work on a horse, but he gets it on the big day and and gets the job done. I thought it was an impressive win. Can't wait to talk about this weekend as well, Josh. Uh, sort of Ariana v Dubai on a ver v volbarn. That'll be a very interesting contest. No Cerdilius, uh, which uh sort of piqued the interest uh early in the week with the nomination. But uh interesting race this weekend, but Aliana I thought was exceptional and did her thing really well last week.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I just think uh being third up heading towards the Ranfort, I think was a key there for Aliana. They had uh peak fitness going into the race, and that's what I think uh got her, not only that, but J Mac being on to got her over the line of Lindemann, which was given an outstanding ride by Nash. J-Mack just always seems to be in the best position uh coming to the straight to run down horses. I don't know how he always gets those positions, but where at Aliana, I was sure that that's where Sir Delius was going to map in that race last weekend. But instead, Sir Delius was last, and uh Aeliana just had to sit right behind the speed there by and Linderman. And yeah, he just rode him out, was too good, interesting on the week backup. Would have been very interesting with Sir Delius as well. Interesting with Sir Delius. I didn't think the run was bad, but I just don't think the way the race was run uh could win it from that far back in that type of race. But um they could have gone that way, but obviously they're gonna try and take on Autumn Glow now in the QE2. And uh I would assume that this race coming up the Ramford probably be the grand final for Aeliana. I doubt they back her up into the Queen Elizabeth afterwards, but we shall see. But no, all honors J Mac, but uh good ride by Nash to make it a competitive race, there Maxie.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and uh I think the map certainly played fair. I I don't think many people had Cerdilius sitting last in that race. Um so look, J Mac just tactically, he's a master. And that was the one where he was able to equal Ollie's record, and the one that he beat Olly's record was equally as well tactically that he just sort of had Willow's number on uh the weekend just gone. Uh puts Autumn Boy in a great position there. Um Observer has to be the one that has to do a ton of the bullocking work to you know bring up the or try and get past an autumn boy, and geez, he showed an exceptional turn of foot there. Like I I reckon that's Autumn Boy like really stamping himself as like yes, he is a group on star. For me, that that's convinced me. Uh and the money told late as well, like there was a big push for him uh too. A little bit of a drift. There was a lot of money, of course, for Observer. Um, but yeah, Autumn Boy, exceptional, exceptional win and beats Ollie's record and becomes on his lonesome, the number one uh winningest jockey uh based here in Australia, Nathan.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was uh look another one of those ones where J Mac finds the bet the the back of the other fave. Um it was just an incredible ride, and I think it was all on the race. Um they went very slow up on speed and turned into a bit of a sit and sprint, uh, which just didn't suit uh Observer and Craig Williams. I think a few rides he'd want back on the weekend, Sir Delius, I think, is one of them. And I think this one on Observer as well. Look, I'm not saying he would have won the race. Uh, I think Autumn Boy, all honours uh to that horse and to obviously JMAC, but I just think the way the race was run, you could have taken off a little bit sooner, sort of get Observer into the race. He was rock hard fit, 2,000 metres. He's a genuine stayer. While Autumn Boy was probably going into the race a little bit suspect at the 2,000. I think that's why uh Josh Nye were team uh observer last week. Didn't turn out that way, and he was pretty disappointing uh overall observer in terms of the way he ran, but uh he was not at all. Autumn boy was sensational, Josh. I thought it was an excellent performance. Uh few good runs in behind as well, uh looking towards a derby. Obviously, Autumn Boy, you'd think now drops back in trip for a Doncaster. That looks like the logical uh step there. We get no weight and looks perfectly set up there. But some nice trials uh in behind. I thought Bjorn Baker had one that was going really, really well uh heading into the next start. Josh, I think you're gonna identify that one for us.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, green spaces.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was excellent. So yeah, watch for that horse going to the derby uh in uh uh next week. So that'll be uh an interesting one as well. But yeah, all on his autumn boy. Too good on the day, Josh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, just too good. Got the back of Craig Williams here. I just I just don't think Observer suits a slowly run race, especially third up 2000. You could argue Observer's best ever win in its career wasn't that Mooney Fally Farz, where he just clicked up the speed at the 800 metres and said, catch me if you can. I think he has the lead in the staying race. And I just thought he was written a bit too concerned. But take nothing away from Autumn Boy, it showed a supreme turn of foot and shows how good that Shiza alibi form is from the Ramwick Guinea. So uh all honors, J Mac, Autumn Boy, Chris Waller again. But uh boys, guess who picks up the ride on Observer and the Derby next week? That would be J-Mack. So he picks up another ride on a good horse jumping on Observer and the Derby. So um, yeah, just uh two good. And yeah, like you said though, green spaces and I thought Federalist was fair, but I thought he could have finished off a little bit better, but probably on the inferior part of the ground. But yeah, it looks like um looks like it's a pretty good race for to follow for both Observer and Green Spaces for Godolphin heading towards the derby next week, Max.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, we'll be looking forward to that for sure. It's gonna be one of the key form lines. Green spaces finds itself at the top of the market there of a very nice second in that race. And of course, I guess probably the most dominant uh victory from the weekend just gone. Look, we expected it$1.25, no spoils for big in this one. It was a very, very good field in behind the likes of Pericles, uh, Green Gods, Lady Shamid Doa Um as well, like Bayarked, Evaporate, like all top tier group one quality. Uh, but it was all about Autumn Glow. She's an absolute star winning the George Ryder, Baby Winks, as they're referring to her after this weekend as she keeps the streak going. 11 victories, uh, Nathan, and another group one to add to the CV2. I mean, now she heads towards Queen Elizabeth, and geez, she's gonna be a short price favourite in that race. It's gonna be ultra, ultra competitive. And I can't wait for it for her to step up to 2,000 metres because it's gonna be the real test for her. Um and it's great to see that they're chucking her in the deep end and like they're gonna have an honest crack with her because I think this is a much better chance to see if she is a 2,000 metre horse and then head towards a cox plate at the end of the year. Whereas if they kept her at the mile in a Queen of the Turf, yes, that'd be an easy kill, another group one to the CV. But that would I think almost turn punters a little bit off her as well, that she's kind of ducking some of the competition, whereas now she's not ducking anyone. It's the feature race of the Autumn Carnival up here in Sydney, and I can't wait to see her in it. And off a dominant performance like that. Geez, she's gonna be hard to beat, Nate.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, she's gonna be very tough to beat. She's a superstar. That was an excellent win. Win of the weekend. Visually, it was just stunning. The way she put away that classy field, like you said. I mean, only good horses can do that, and she is exactly that. She's very, very talented. Give me a spell with some of the people some of the people this week. They announced pretty early in the week uh they're going to the Queen Elizabeth, and some of the comments are just absolutely abhorrent. Oh, they're avoiding she's an alibi, they don't want to go to the Doncaster. They want three extra million dollars in prize money. I mean, fair income. The Queen Elizabeth's worth five mil, the Donny's worth two. I mean, what are we talking about? Yeah, they've got a wait for age star on the price.
SPEAKER_03And here you're on Wait for Age, and you're gonna be giving up six and a half kilo towards she's an alibi, me get out the weights. Oh, sorry, but yeah, the Queen Elizabeth is a bigger carrot to be chasing.
SPEAKER_02A hundred percent. And then like you said, Maxie, as well, we get to see now her at 2,000 metres, we get that lovely test to see what she can produce in the spring, what the profile is gonna look like in terms of going to a cox plate, because you'd imagine that's where she ends up. Well, she's an alibi. Obviously, we've talked about her, she's probably ending up in a in a uh golden eagle uh sort of preparation. So that's not to say that they won't meet though. A race like the Maccabi Diva comes to mind. Uh wait for age over a mile. So we'll see them next prep. Everyone relax, all right. We're gonna be able to see them. Uh but Autumn Glow, look, she gets to do her thing, she gets to go to the QE, and look, she gets every right to go out and win that. She should go out and win that. And once she does, I think we can start to really solidify her and start to identify her more as sort of that champion mayor that she could potentially be, Josh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, she comes out and wins the Queen Elizabeth at the prize she's in now, she's got to be going towards a Cox plate next campaign for sure.
SPEAKER_03It'll be a Winx prep, like the exact same print prep that Winx goes on if she comes out and wins his QE. That'll be her preparation for the next two years.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, a bit like the Thea Sistina campaign, but uh a little bit different, but yeah, so but I do think she'll come out and win it. But I think the only thing people are upset about, and I don't I don't agree with people being upset. I mean, uh the Queen Elizabeth is the best wait-for age group one in the autumn. So I mean, there's I'm not knocking them for going that route. I guess the thing is um we won't see Autumn Glow versus She's an Alibi for probably a year because of that. There's no way they can match up in any race next prep. Because if Autumn Glow wins the QE2, they'll be on a um a Coxplate program, and uh She's an Alibi will be on a Golden Eagle campaign for sure, especially if it comes out and wins the Doncaster next weekend. So I just don't see um any way they can face each other until the autumn next year. So that might be the white people a little bit upset as well. But uh Autumn Glow, just too good, and has the uh Queen Elizabeth at its begging. I want to make uh mention of one heading towards the Doncaster. I know weight-wise and any of everything, it shouldn't be able to be cheese and our buy, but keep your eye on Attica. Attica is going outstanding heading towards this Doncaster. This Ramwick Guinness form is very good form, and I thought it was a great run there in the George Rider on the wrong part of the track. So just a little follow with that horse, but I do agree that Green got Headley Grange was a mate outstanding again there in the George Rider. Just keeps running well. But yeah, Green got Pericles, Lady Shenandoah got a bit worked up, she'll be going to the Queen of the Turf. But um, no, that was a dominant win by the favourite there, Maxi. And yeah, Queen Elizabeth at its beckoning.
SPEAKER_03Certainly cannot wait for that mouth ordering affair in a couple weeks' time, boys. Um, but of course, talked earlier about Zach Lloyd missing out on uh Aliana, two exceptional rides. He gets one back in the golden slipper, no doubt. And guesthouse, geez, what a great ride up on the inside as well, inferior part of the ground, but just had the right horse. It was all that blue diamond form, boys. Um, with Streisand coming in there for second. Music time ran enormous. Uh, the country horse, so the Canberra horse for Gratzvella there and Pierre Boudvillein. Uh, that was an exceptional run in there for third, kind of threw it away at the last hundred when it shy at the winning post and rolled off the track a little bit. And then Campion d'Italia was a massive run there. It'll start short and in towards the size, no doubt, but it's all about guest house and geez, the McPrice and Michael Kent team. They were confident going into this weekend. It was right there at the top of the market as well. It was sort of one of those forgotten runners, um, you know, to be sitting fourth, fifth favourite in the field. Um, didn't really have too much buzz going into it, but just quietly chipping away, having really nice runs there, and the blue diamond form, it rained supreme there, Nathan, on the weekend just gone, and an excellent ride from Zach Lloyd and the maturity from him as well because he was patient in the moment there coming into the home he didn't panic coming into the home turn. Um, you know, he knew there were horses in front of him that were going to be fading late, and he just picked his path, and then once he was clear with that last 200 go, exploded to the line and won clearly, and now Reigns Supreme is the best two-year-old uh for the season.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, best uh best ride and best horse won the race. Simple as that. Uh it was a 10 out of 10. It doesn't get better than that. Found the perfect quasi midfield, bit of cover. And then, like you said, Maxie, when uh the a lot of jockeys zig when they should zag, he zigged uh perfectly and uh got through the the field really, really well, had the right horse underneath him, though. That's why I sort of leaned into his camp last week, purely because of the spruk. You don't see the price in Kent Junior Yard come out and say the things they were saying about this horse going into a blue diamond. They were talking about this horse like it was just gonna win it. Um, I know it probably had its chance in the blue diamond, or all things even, but they were very confident that horse was going to go in and do a job. And the fact that they showed up the next start in Sydney in the Group 1 golden sliver just gave me a big, big confidence that this horse had ability, and sure enough, it was an excellent win. Um, some yeah, and look, I think just the best sprinting two-year-old ended up winning the race. I think it's simple as that. Sometimes um, you know, the different form lines pop up. Cheyenne uh was an excellent run as well, obviously well backed in the market. And Rand Wells dries in, like you said, Maxi, that that that uh blue diamond ended up being uh top-notch in the end. But it was all about guest house, the ride, uh probably the ride of the day in terms of visually uh to get through that pack of two-year-olds, which is always a bit messy, uh, but was able to get the win and do it nicely. And like you said, Campione d'Italia, well, what price in a size? Dollar 80,$2. I mean, seriously, I mean Central Europe as well, you'd think probably ends up there too. But goodness me, there were some nice trials for that race in there as well. Music time, a great story uh on the weekend there. Uh, you know, massive price, country horse, like you said, and just had it not rolled out, probably could have rendered a second. It was just a little bit of an awkward one uh there for Bood Villain. But yeah, an excellent um excellent race, and I'm glad I got a result there because it was outside of that, it was a bit a few shorts falling around. So the double figures there we'll take.
SPEAKER_01Uh machine gun Gracie was a pretty good win, too. Nathan, we take those. Yeah, we take those ones as well. But no, um, well, the the the team were arguing saying that it was an unlucky runner in the blue diamond, saying it probably should have won that. But um, they jumped get Zach Lloyd on. And for the Quinella, both I guess how send Streisand a month between running. Runs without a trial. They ticked them over themselves, getting the horses ready for the race. And yeah, I loved that. Uh it was Sack Lloyd bumping J Mac out of the way back on the inside to get that run, knocking fireball out to get that gap. And now it was just too good. Great ride, Sack Lloyd. And the I guess the only crazy thing about last Saturday, boys, was that um because of that, J Mac didn't win the jockey challenge. Sack Lloyd won the jockey challenge because of that win in the end. So uh, all honors, and yeah, the the Melbourne form was definitely superior this year, that is for sure. And yeah, congrats with the uh the black opal form being the superior Sydney form this campaign for the two-year-olds. Who would have believed that? But no, great story there for music time running into third thereafter, paying the late fee to get into the race.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and I mean they tripled their money. I think they ended up uh winning, they had to pay a late entry, of course, of uh 150,000. And I think they won just short of uh half a mil as well. So and the ride that the owners as well have had on that, including Gratz, uh too as the trainer, and yeah, I mean Pierre Boudvillin, I mean, wrote it absolutely perfectly as well. Um it was just a bit of a shame there. I I think we all thought that geez, music time's gonna win the golden slipper there with about 150 to go. I mean, that what a story that would have been uh going into it. But yeah, all honors guest house, onwards and upwards, as um that and Streisand look to probably spell uh as well, come back as three-year-olds, and hopefully it can knock the curse and a horse that looks to have some serious, serious talent, and if it can go on with things uh as a three-year-old, it could be a very nice sprinter on the up and up. Um speaking of sprinters, geez, blanket over this next field here in the galaxy. Course, big news before the race, um lost reserve bank and uh grafter burners behind the barriers. Uh they weren't able to compete in the race, uh, so the field changed completely pre-race with the favourite and the third favourite in the race uh taken out. But it was all about Mahoona, just loves his day here, Nathan. Course won the slipper last year, comes out, wins over the 1100 in the galaxy. It's the one that got the beak down. Huge run from Jedabil and Marzu, and then Briasa as well running in there for fourth. Uh blanket finish, not too sure what to do with the form line here, how it stacks up in a TJ uh in just over a week's time, not too sure, but all honest Mahoona bags, another group one uh to her name.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she's tough. She's grindy, she gets the job done and did it really well. Um look, yes, it got the blanket finish photo, but um it was one of those races. It was just a again, another muddling tempo, horses coming from everywhere. Briasa, I thought, was excellent with the weight, just peaked on the run. First up, I think, second up looks uh the improver heading to a TJ. Any of the others I want to take going to a TJ, I'm not sure if many of them have much of a chance personally, in my humble opinion. But I think they're really nice horses, but I think they are just genuine handicapped types. Um Mahuna, she's probably another one as well that's right on the on the cusp of being sort of a genuine weight for age sprinter, but you look at likes of generosity and a few of those other ones uh in behind. I don't think they're quite there in terms of the genuine uh weight for age group one types. So uh look, interesting one moving forward. Mahuna, though, would definitely earn a spot in a race like uh the the TJ Smith in a couple of weeks, and also um uh Briasa, I think they're the main two for mine. I thought they were both excellent. I thought it was some good runs in general, but yeah, like you said, Maxi, when they finish like that, it's tough to make a case that's going to be a cracking form line moving forward. You never know. Uh maybe a few of them will come out and prove me wrong. But Josh, well tipped up by you. I know Mahuna was one you identified last week, so well done.
SPEAKER_01Uh, just loves Rose Hill. This girl, she is a track and trip specialist. And talk about the going slipper curse, she has broken it now, boys, winning winning the Group 1 Galaxy. I'm not sure about her inner TJ at Randwick over the 1200. I do think she prefers Rose Hill, but I've got to give it up to the handicapper. He handicapped this race to perfection based on the margins. Now, Briasa's the talking point for me coming out of the race, boys. Last year, in the same race, the barrier got Briasa beat. And I would argue that the Barrier got Briasa beat again. But last year, after the run we all saw it put in by in private Harry, we were like, that horse is going to win the TJ Smith. I didn't think that after that race last weekend. I I want to be against that form line heading towards a TJ. I just think there are other sprinters that are going better. Not to knock the horse, but I just want to be against it in these big weight frage group ones. So Mahuna, uh two good on the day, carrying the low weight. Look gone at the furlong, but Kieran McAfee got that horse over the line and went by a head. But Briasa heading towards the TJ, just want to be against to the touch there, Maxi.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I I totally understand that. Like, yeah, differ different horse, different setup um this time around. Um had to carry big weight, like a huge weight going in towards um, you know, this field in the galaxy and was first up and definitely has improvement to come. But yeah, I'll uh I'll definitely be looking elsewhere because I think the likes of Ten and even a Jimmy Star um or Tentairus as well, like I I want to be watching those horses in particular and what the market does with them and what barriers they draw as well to get a better feel of how the whole race is going to plan out, how much speed there's gonna be. But Briasa might be one, unless it draws perfectly and the others drawing out in the car park, um, yeah, might be one that I might be giving a miss to go back to back in TJ's this time around. Although the Hawks boys, they can do it. I mean, they we've seen them do it plenty of times before. Um speaking of the sprinting ranks boys, let's head down south really quick. Uh the William Reed, um, big group one down there as well over the 1200 this year held at Caulfield as opposed to Mooney Valley, where they underdo track renovations and it was Jigsaw winning there for Cindy Anderson, Logan Bates, he's got the keys to this horse here. I mean, this horse is going outstanding with him on board. Um, I think it's seven starts, six wins uh to its name. So yeah, the big um you know, the big offense just keeps going, and they bag group one on Australian soil this time around Nathan, of course. They won a group one over in New Zealand a couple starts earlier, come to Australia, and on the one-week backup, um, yeah, goes from I think a high prize money vo Vobus race to winning a group one and was stuck out four deep the entire trip. Yes, the inside the first four or five lanes there at Corfield on the day was complete reverse travelator. You did not want to be there, you wanted to be off the rail, and I think the best ride won the race, um, and they weren't able to get past Logan Bates for Jigsawnate.
SPEAKER_02Oh, toughest horse won. That was an outstanding win. I mean, look, I agree. You clearly wanted to get off the rail, on speed was okay, but you wanted to be sort of four or five deep, and Logan read the play perfectly. But this horse, I 200 metres to go, I thought was dead set Gonsky. Uh I've thought, okay, there's gonna there's a wall chasing which one of these is gonna close best. Is Jimmy gonna lift? No. Angel Capital, such a tease. Seriously, just I mean, I don't know anymore. I don't know what to do with Angel Capital anymore, boys. I mean, he's he's on the list forever, I think.
SPEAKER_03On that same path.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's just a tough. It's really tough to sort of know where where he is in terms of where he fits in with the sprinting ranks right now because he's one bad run and then the flashing lights. So I don't know. Uh make leave it, deal me out when it comes to Angel Capital. I might be leaning into your camp, Maxie. Might love milk. But uh look, jigsaw, uh just yeah, too strong, too classy, too, to just all of those superlatives. And again, we come back to the old adage let fast horses be fast. And that's exactly what they do. Jigsaw jump, lead, kick, win. And it more often than not, they can get the job done, especially when they put that picket fence together, Maxi. Like you said, this horse's confidence has gone through the roof. This preparation. I know it was on the one we back up from a Vobus race, but it was a Vobus race he won by six lengths, and DeadSet carved them up. So, in hindsight, maybe he was uh a little bit big of a big of a price uh early stages. And the punters knew, Josh, they came for this horse, jumping around four bucks, five bucks. So it was a big, big push, and uh Jigsaw too classy. Jimmy Starr, what did we do with him?
SPEAKER_03Drew Barrier won, worst part of the ground. Like I think there's excuses there for him, Nate. Um, like they like you said, the money knew um leading up towards the race. Jimmy Starr was a firm favourite in that two dollar nearly odds-on sort of range. Drew Barrier won. But once punters started to realize that those inside lanes were no go, uh, they just didn't want a bar of him and drifted out, and then Jigsaw drawn all the way out there in barrier 11, uh, all of a sudden didn't look like a negative anymore.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I agree. I just think uh Jimmy Starr ran a bit fresh, a bit keen, wanted to wanted to push up and just wasn't just wasn't racing well there, racing ungenerously back on the inside there from gate one. Got really no cover on the inside because everything wanted to fan out, so it just got stuck on the worst part of the track. I can forgive Jimmy Starr. Whether I can tip it on top in a TJ is another thing entirely, but I'm willing to forgive that run. I just think Jigsaw got the perfect run on the day, and we've got to give credit to the team there, the Cindy Orderson team. I mean, to bring this horse back over from New Zealand after winning the Group 1 over there. Now a two-time Group 1 win a jigsaw before Angel Capital's 1-1, Nathan. I mean, that that just sounds crazy, doesn't it? Angel Capital, I thought, was a great run, though, flying late in for second, but where do you go? I don't think Angel Capital is good enough to win a TJ. The race looks like an all-aged. Or you're freshen and take Angel Capital up to Queensland for like a Stradbroke type of race, a handicap race. So I'm not sure what they're gonna do with that horse. But I mean, it is a bit question marky that Devil Knight, Blue Dime winner, runs third at around 11 bucks a place. So didn't see that one coming. But um, yeah, all honours to the horse that got the right run in transit, although was wide and had to do it tough. But um, all honours to Jigsaw there, ran a botler.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Angel Capital. I've said it once, I'll say it again, loves milk, sleeps with the light on. Uh, he's not one for me. Uh, I'll I'll leave you if you want him towards a TJ. He might start at some decent odds, but uh yeah, he loves the big flashing red light coming into the home straight. Uh, I just need to see him do it once or twice before we can tip him with any sort of confidence. Um, but that's down there down south at Corfield. And let's stay down there, boys, because we're gonna try and find some winners. So of course, Group 1 Day down at Flemington, Australia Cup Day. Look, a bit of an awkward placement. Australia Cup, Tankered, um, you know, and the Vinery, these sort of races all over those staying distances. A lot of these runners could be running all in the same race, but geez, we've got cracking fields across all of them. So we'll start with the Australian Cup Boys, 2,000 metres. Um, wait for rage. Birdman has lobbed up your favourite here off a very, very nice win last start over the 1800 metres. Prior to Jenny, second favourite, who was bold staying on there for third. Um, and Tommy Kitten in the mix as well after a little picket fences starting to build at the moment there at$5. Like a Lucy also in the mix at single figures. But Nathan, got to find your winner here. Who wins the Australia Cup for 2026?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, interesting race, Maxie. I really like it. I think there's some depth to this field. I think there's some interesting runners. Obviously, Tom Kitten's your logical starting point, he's just airborne coming out of that all-star mile. However, he did get the right run, he did get the right part of the track, and I thought there were other runs in behind that were excellent in that race. So I'm gonna trust that form line though. I'm gonna trust the all-star mile. I think that's the right form for a race like this. There's two runners that are like coming out of that form line, but the one that I've got on top is a nice price here at around$12 and$3 on the placeline. That's number six, Sabaj. This was going great guns at the moment. I love this form line. Third up, 2,000 metres. Looks set to peak. Uh, he hasn't gotten out to 2,000 metres in the past, the son of Manhattan Rain. But the end of last prep suggests he will have no issue there. Was good at this uh over the mile, pardon me, and a benchmark 84. That was all the way back, I believe that was Melbourne Cup Day. Uh it was just uh no, it was the second Saturday, pardon me.
SPEAKER_01It was Champions Day. It was Champions Day, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And it was an excellent win that day. And if we can replicate something similar on soft ground, I think it's going to prove very, very hard to beat. Went on to win the Crambin Cup and then was good in an Ingham there behind Yorkshire, just got the wrong run in transit and drew the car park on that occasion. The two runs this prep, though, both at Flemington, have been phenomenal. 2,000 metres tick, soft ground tick, and drawn barriers six with Bo Mertons in the saddle. I'll go 50 the win and 50 the place on Sabaj as my betting strategy in this race. I'm happy to lean that way. In for second, the horse that scares me, I might have something on privately sort of my$100, and that's number 10, like a Lucy. This horse is absolutely airborne, hasn't won in a long time. You have to go back to March of last year to see her last win, but she's flying this campaign. Her first two runs have been excellent. Uh again, was good in the all-star mile. I just thought Zabaj was slightly better, but the market's identified like a Lucy here, third up into the prep, and I can understand why the two runs have been very, very good. Rand the pride of Jenny uh over the mile last preparation as well in the Empire Rose. That was a good run. Replicates something similar. That's probably her peak here, 2,000 metres, and can definitely win this race. I'll be a little bit sick if she wins and I don't have anything on in for third. I've gone with Tom Kitten. Uh he's done nothing wrong. Drawn awkwardly there in barrier 12, but again, third up, 2,000 metres. Go back to last prep. Uh last time we got to 2,000 metres, ran third behind via Sistina in that championship stakes. Was excellent that day. A similar run on soft conditions. You've got to think he'll be hard to hold out. And then in for fourth, I've chucked in the favourite here. Number five, Birdman. I'm not hard against him. I just think the market's got him well found at the moment at that$3.50, and you're getting some nice prices to take him on. He's just bet he's been one that I found second up, but I've been against him since. So he's a tough one for me to sort of launch in at the price. So I'm gonna let him go around without me. So keep it simple with you, Maxi. I'm gonna go 50 each way on Sabaj. I think it's a really good each way bet, and one of the best each-way players of the entire day.
SPEAKER_03And geez, he's a hard one to catch. Uh, and now he's put two back to back. Um, so well done to you finding him second up, and then geez went really well there third up as well. Um, Josh, how are you finding this race? Australian Cup. It's a bit of a doozy uh for the stayers, but boy, it is a mouth-watering affair.
SPEAKER_01This is a great field this year. I love that there are two converging form lines, so they're both very good in their own right, the All-Star Mile form and the Peter Young form. I like both form lines, so I'm gonna have a couple of bets. Um, I'm gonna have three actually on some horses that I think come into this race ready to peak. But my own top runner in 50 to win, I'm with the one that you're scared of, Nathan, that's gonna win this race, number 10, like a Lucy. I just think it's finally time for this horse to step up to 2,000 metres. It hasn't run 2,000 metres plus in over a year. I thought it was going to go to the Matriarch last prep on Champions Day. They ended up scratching after it ran a botle of on Pride of Jenny and the Empire Rose. And it's had two great runs this prep, third up, now up to the 2,000 metres on a wet deck where Lica Lucy is undefeated on a soft deck, which is the conditions we should get down there this weekend. The market's seen it, brought her into$6 already. I'm gonna have 50 on her. I think she's primed here, ready to go. And I love the booking of Damian Lane jumping on this mere third up. So main bet Laika Lucy. And I'm gonna have two 25 to win saver bits. The first one is one you've got on top, Nathan Sabaj. I just love how this horse hit the line there in the all-star mole, third up, 2,000 metres. And now we see that this horse doesn't mind a wet deck, so this horse will be flying home late. Soft gate there, gate six. And I love that the price in uh Mick Price camp is going really well after winning the slip, and they've kept Bo Murdens on. I think he deserves to keep the ride going into this group one, and good luck to Bowie Murns here. And then my other 25 to win. I have to have summoned Max on our boy Apolly. He bounced back to near his best foreman, the Peter Young behind Birdman. I thought that was a great run to step up third up back to the 2000. And they've decided to keep Willie Pike on now, boys. I think that is a good jockey change there after Pike went undefeated on the horse over there in WA. He knows how to ride this horse. I think he'll handle the wet conditions. And um, from gate two, he can lob wherever he wants, and I'm pretty sure he'll be flying home late. So those three horses, I think, are the horses ready to peak here. And then I'll put Tommy Kitten in for fourth. I thought the All-Star Mile win was really good. And he's placed his last two 2,000 meter runs, like you mentioned, Nathan, behind Fiat Cecena. But gate 12, he's probably, unless he boots up and brings the rest of the field up to um to uh sorry, to Pride of Jenny, like he did in the All-Star Mile. I don't think he'd want to do that over 2,000 metres. It might just be telling for him later. So I think he probably goes back from 12. And it'll be interesting to see if he's got the stamina still uh as an older horse now as the as a oh, he's only five years old. Sorry, don't mind me, boys. I'm thinking like he's a seven, eight-year-old. He feels like he's been around forever, Tommy Kinn. But uh from I just think from gate 12 he might have to do a bit too much work from the back to get over the top of some of these runners uh that look to peak here. Left Birdman now in my top four. Uh no knock, just think it's too short and what looks a wide open affair, this Australia Cup Maxi.
SPEAKER_03Uh, it certainly is, and I got one of my numbers at 71 bucks that I'll have to have a little saver on. But um yeah, I'm with Apulia. Uh geez, you know me boys too well. I like to go for a little bit of value. Um, and I love Willie Pike for everything you outlined there, Josh. Um jumping back on board. So goes on top for me. Um originally I was gonna have 50 each way, but I think we're gonna chuck it down to 45 each way, and I'll have another five each way on horse number five uh four here, just fine. Geordie Childs jumps on board this one for Waterhouse and Bot. Last start, it was up in Sydney uh behind Vauban in the sky high. Um, and also Seoul of Spain. I reckon that's a pretty good form line going in towards this weekend and the Tankerid. Um I thought it was a great run there, second up too. So now third up, peak fitness, just really been forgotten about in this race. Um has a big um syndicate of owners. So I'm surprised that it's all the way out at this sort of price, and they haven't sort of started to back it in. So maybe I need to back it in now while it's at the 71 bucks uh at the moment, unless they're really tipping the cold water on it and saying it's not going to be running this weekend. But yeah, in a field like this, I mean this time last year the horse was going absolutely outstanding, you know, going towards group ones and winning big feature races. So yeah, just fine at 71 bucks and$13 a place. Definitely keep it safe. In for third, I've ended up chucking in Birdman. Definitely want to respect the horse, but geez, he's just been a tough one to find for me. Um he finally started to put it together with a couple wins on the board uh back to back. But yeah, he was a costly one there because we knew he had all the ability. Um he just didn't have you know everything going on in between his ears, let's be honest. Uh and I'll chuck in like a Lucy as well for the same ownership in there for fourth, round out my numbers for everything you boys have outlined as well. Um Left Tom Kitten and Left Pride of Jetty out of the numbers. Um I I'm just really liking towards that Apulia and Birdman sort of form and what we saw last start. I reckon we're gonna be seeing a very, very nice performance and hopefully gets that group one on the CV because he's still got his nuts intact. So uh there's certainly some stud aspirations for him. And that's it in terms of the races down at Flemington. We're covering, but we'll have some best bets down there, no doubt. Let's head up to Sydney, boys, and Rose Hill. Boys, I hope you did your form for a wet deck because uh Thursday night, as we record, it got absolutely pelted around six and seven o'clock. Um, yeah, it's been absolutely teeming. So do your form for a heavy deck as we start with race number five here, boys. This is the Tullock. A great one week lead up heading towards a derby for many of these three-year-olds. Um Accora has lobbed up your favourite here for the Bussin and Young Camp. Shangri-Lar Boy in there's second favourite, and Storm Leopard, the other one there in single figures. Nathan, how are you seeing the Tulloch stakes for 2026?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, race where I want to have a couple bets here. I'm taking on the favourites. Uh Akura, I think, is a deserving favourite there at around that 280. And then Shangri La Boy, the first two runs have just been okay. Uh, I think the market's definitely uh respecting its SP from last prep, hence to around that four dollar mark. So I want to be against these two favourites. I'm actually gonna back three horses in this race, try and get these favorites. It's beat a couple of decent odds, I feel. Uh, but I'll settle them on topic, and that's number five, Storm Leopard. I really like this horse. I think it's a really nice run. Comes out of that salty pearl run last start where that horse gave them a shellacking on that core field track that was playing a little bit funky as it was last week as well. But I thought it was an excellent effort. I love the win prior to that as well at the short price, one by two and a half lengths. It was a ballar at uh benchmark 62, but I love the way it hit the line. 2,000 metres here. A bit later than the prep, but just a nice gate here with Tommy Berry and Team Hayes. They're absolutely flying at the moment. So I want to take them with some trust, with the minor racehorse ownership, that this Storm Leopard can run a very, very good race here and possibly go the one week back up into a Derby. I've been to 550 is a shade short, but I think it comes out of the right form. So Storm Leopard, my main bet. In for second, O'Sheamus, number three. Uh, Zachy Lloyd jumps on this one. Drawn barrier three. I love the run against the older horses there. Uh it was last time uh behind Tazima. I know it was beaten 4.6 lengths, but Tazima was a quality win and a horse I want to follow. I want to trust the form out of that race. And against the older horses now back to his own age group, I think can be the big improver here. Gets that lovely soft run there with Zachy Lloyd from Barrier 1. The Sunday Shaman said, We'll expect him to be chiming in late at the nine bucks. And the other one I'm going to back is number four, Brave Danzer. And that one comes out of a good first up run over the 1800 metres. Yes, it was just a benchmark 66, but I'm really taking him on his last two runs of last prep. He was beaten twice by a horse called Different Gravy, and that horse came out first up this prep and ran really, really well. I want to trust that form. I think it's going very well. Uh, and I think here second up, 2,000 metres, maybe a little bit early in the prep to see exactly where they're coming from. But the Makamani camp don't send them to Sydney often, so I think they've got a good opinion of this son of Brave Smash. So then my three bets, Storm Leopard, have something on O'Sheamus and Brave Danza. In for fourth, I've chucked in Arcora. No disrespect, definitely deserves to be favourite. I just think in that race where they were up on speed, it was favorable conditions on the day. Don't think you'd be able to do that with Shangri-Lar Boy here. I think they might kill each other up on speed, and if they do, hopefully one of my three can storm over the top, we get a result.
SPEAKER_03Alright, what about you, Josh? How are you seeing the Tullik stakes?
SPEAKER_01I agree. I think this is an open race, and I've actually got my thail runner of the day in this race, and I think we're getting a good price here. And I'm with on top number four here, Brave Dancer. I think this horse is going really, really well. Like you mentioned, Nathan, I loved the two runs at the end of the prep on soft decks, both behind different gravy. They just took their time with this horse last prep, and I really liked how it finished off the campaign. Then coming into the first up run, it had one troll. So there was room for improvement. And I just feel like it peaked their first up, but the form lines looked really strong because the winner of that race has come out and won the Alistair Clark at Corfield last weekend. So the form line is really strong. I love it going into this race of a 17-day freshman, dropping the free kilos. And I think$11 from Gate 6, Billy Egan should give this horse a great run. And I think it'll handle the heavy grand this weekend. So I ran$11 fixed 2-9 place. I make Brave Dansam a 30 runner of the weekend to beat uh Cora. I even though uh it was an on-speed bias that day, they still ran slick time. They nearly broke two minutes in that race there at Flemington. So um its form before that bond single choice was a really good run as well. It's been a while since it's been on a wet deck, but from gate three, Nashville jumped his horse to the lead and be hard to hold out. So I understand why it's favorite, but$2.80 just a bit short for me. And for third, I'll put in Storm Leopard. Like you mentioned, that was a great run, Nathan, behind Salty Pearl two weeks ago at Corfield. Should uh handle the step up to 2,000, being by Giaff and Tommy Berry on for the My Race horse. I only think there's horse firms between now and race day, and it should run a really, really big race. And then for fourth, I'll put in number three, O'Sheamus. I just wanted it to do a bit more behind Tosima last start, but um, and I'm not quite sure about O'Sheamus on a web decker. Might be able to handle it, but gate one might also be a little bit of a negative there for it. So I'll put it in for fourth. But I think Brave Dancer Boys is a really good each-way play, and I make him a fairy runner for the weekend.
SPEAKER_03No, I like it. I like it. Brave Dancers in my numbers as well, but um, just eked out by a couple of Chuck Shrankrillar Boy on top, boys. Oh, you don't mean too well for tipping this one. Um yeah, I I think the big key is Hippo back on board as well. Um last time this horse won uh was at the similar track and trip, um, and hippo was on board on that occasion. He jumped off, of course, um to jump on Attica that was in the spring champion. And look, the horse has gone okay this preparation. Uh he was up on speed, a bit disappointing at his first race start, but improvement the start after that as well. Um just as he's getting up and up in trip and now finds himself at 2,000 metres, might be a run too soon. He might appreciate that one week backup going towards the derby. Um but yeah, Shrangular boy here in this race draws nicely with Hippo on board. I've gone with Storm Leopard in there for second. Um yeah, following that Salty Pearl form, Salty Pearl finds herself in a group one this time around uh as well, and could provide to be a good form line. And I I agree with you, Nathan, I like Akura, but it's just a little bit too short. Um I I think that yeah it potentially could get busted up a little bit up on speed um if it wants to try and get caught in a speed battle alongside Strangular Boy, just couldn't get it that short, um, but goes in my numbers there for third, and then I chucked Embra Danzer in there for fourth. Um really nice uh run there last start behind Rulette King. Um finds itself at 2,000 metres, um, a distance that it seems like it will be appreciating if you go off its previous preparations. But yeah, double figures at the moment. Um so might be one to look for a bit of value, boys. Let's move on to the binary stud stakes, 2000 metres. This is for the girls. Oh wins for Chris Waller, comes over from New Zealand. Yulong uh is in the ownership here, J Mac rides another Chris Waller favourite. I mean, surely this just put in takeout here, Nathan. Or is there a little bit more depth to this field than what's likely showing? Because uh I want to be tipping one here that I think has been a little bit forgotten about how you seeing the binary stud stakes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I like a couple of horses here, Maxi. I'm taking on Ohe wins. I think it's really, really poison odds at the moment. I think$2.60 is far too short. I know its runs have been excellent and it's one three in a row. Philly's in form, you want to keep backing them, etc., etc. But uh I've just I think the bubble might burst at some point. It's been a long prep. They've made the trip over. I think there are excuses to take it on. Yes, you get J Mac, but drawn awkwardly. I'm not sure what they do if they just end up last in this field. They're gonna have some work to do if they end up dragging back. So I'm not hard against this favorite. I respect it, and I've got him for third, but there's two bets I want to be having here. And the other one is that I I mean there's a couple of bets that I think we're getting some good prices. And the one that I've got on top is number two here, Belle Chevel. I think this horse has read a peak here, fourth up in the campaign. You look at that New Zealand form, that well-written run was enormous. I mean, it's been beaten an absolute toenail by well-written. Obviously, that horse has big sprukes on it. They're talking about that horse shades of autumn glow, undefeated, etc. It's not quite that level, obviously, but I want to trust that form line from last start in the Kiwi. I think it was a really nice effort. Now, up to 2,000 metres by Saberbeal, won't mind the wet. Drawing gate too,$4. Yes, please, I'll have 60 to win on Belle Chevelle. And my other bet in the race, I've got to be with Panova boys. I thought that run behind 60s last site was excellent. 2,000 metres here, ready to peak. Third up into the campaign, draws uh a soft gate there in barrier seven, should get a lovely run, and I think gets the drop on the favourite. So$4 Belle Chevelle,$7 Panova. I'll have 60 to win Belle Chevelle, 40 to win Panova, and hopefully get a result. In for third, I've gone with O Hope A wins. Again, no, no uh skin off my back if this horse wins. Wouldn't shock. I just think it's a bit short. Maxie, you mentioned Shades of Orchestral, possibly, could be a bit that way, but uh she's a very, very good horse, no doubt about that. Uh and look, is she a better 2400 meter horse than she is 2000? I think there's an argument to be made, but she is a very, very good stayer. So if she beats me, so be it, wouldn't shock at all. And then in for fourth, I've chucked in Salty Pearl. I just don't know what to do with her. She could come out and brain them and it wouldn't shock me. But she could also run last and it wouldn't shock me. I don't know. Her win was excellent. Um last start, pardon me, at Corfield. I'm interested to see where she figures in your numbers, Josh, because I know you liked her that day. So do you want to stick with her going to 2,000 metres? I'll leave that for you. But I think maybe a shade short at the price, but that's just my humble opinion. So yeah, Belle Chevelle and Panova for me in the vinyl maxi, albeit a small field, I think there's a lot of class.
SPEAKER_03No, there certainly is this year around. Uh, Josh, how are you seeing it? Oh wins off uh a bit of a picket fence, comes over the ditch. Um, shades of orchestral? Uh put a question mark there. I'm not really too sure. It does have that similar sort of vibe, but I I I feel like maybe if you ask this about three weeks ago, four weeks ago, we were really keen on Ohope wins and just thought that this was a put in take-out job. But uh, I don't know, what's changed over the last couple weeks? Do you feel like since the trial maybe expected a little bit more? Like I I don't know. I just feel like this horse is kind of uh leading up into this race has kind of come off the boil a little bit, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, possibly. It's very interesting, boys, because um at the beginning of the week I was like, okay, this horse I think will just win the Oaks after when that's when the Oaks in New Zealand. And then I I wanted to be against her this weekend, and when the Baradw came out, she drew gate nine, and you bear basically there was a blanket of them Salty Pearl, um I hope I wins, and Belle Shaffer were all about$3.40 each in the market. But J Mac and Chris Waller have come out very bullish about her since that barrier trial, saying she's going outstanding. And the market has reflected they've smashed her back in to$2.60 favourite after getting out to as much as$3.20,$3.30 on some tokes. So I'm gonna take the push. I think she wins next start anyway. It's just whether I wanted to be with her this weekend, and I'm gonna stick with her, thinking Walla's gotten enough into her to step back to 2,000 and win. So I'll put her on top. I hope he wins. I'll put the 400 on it as well. If she runs up to her best, I think she is the best stayer in the race, and I just can't get that win last start out of my mind. This Philly Biosham Park. If she's at her best, I think she went in for second. I'm with Bill Shafell. Mark Walker doesn't bring him up to Sydney unless they're going, well, and we all saw that key. We she should have beat um well ridden there, but um just just didn't get the bob at the right time and lost the protest. It should run the 2,000 metres being by Savabill, but never doing it is a little bit of a query. So Belcheville goes in for second. Similar with Salty Pearl, I'll put it in for third, maps to get a nice run. Maybe a little bit of a query on a soft deck, and a query at the trip being by Tagalowa. Taggaloa may be better suited at a mile, so in for third. And then Panova's the interesting one. Its last two starts, it's gotten back a long way and had it to fly over the top late. Now, I'm not saying it can't do that and win, but if it gets out the back with a hope wins, I'm calling a hope wins, it's got a better turn of foot then. If she's got to sit more forward this weekend, I think if she's got a chance, but from gate seven, drawn a quite awkwardly here. So I'll put Panova in for four for a bit of the unknown factor. But um, I'll stick with the favorite boys, J Mac, Walla, Yulong, and uh hope he wins for me to win the finery.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I kind of went with that little bit of uh unknown factor about Panova. Um yeah, I was ultra impressed with how the horse ended the campaign. Of course, winning the Carbine Club down there during the uh during the Melbourne Cup carnival um on the first day. Thought it was ultra impressive that occasion. Tommy Berry, he's ridden this horse to victory before, rode it there last start behind 60s in the far lap, and I just like how this horse is building through the preparation now. Third up, looks like it's ready to peak. Um, yeah, I I imagine the Chris Waller camp. Yes, I'm surprised J Mac hasn't jumped on board, but I think it's more likely the Yulong uh factor, like that obviously played a part in it. But I mean, no no knock against Tommy Berry. I I think he's an outstanding jockey, and I think he has the potential to yeah, come out and win this race. And at$6.57, um, yeah, I'm just gonna chuck the full Hundy on Panova. So it goes on top for me. In for second, Belle Chabel. Um everything you boys have outlined as well, comes up to Sydney, not up here for um yeah, for a holiday. And I think it can be ultra competitive in a race like this and draws well in barrier two. In for third, I've gone with ho O Hope wins. I just think from the map, might be a little bit awkward out there, barrier nine of nine. Um, and then in for fourth, I've ended up chucking long legs, Nashville here for the Gary Bortelli, bit of a forgotten runner in this field. Uh, the first one there at double figures draws barrier one. Uh wasn't too bad there behind Firmino. Um look, started very short in the market there at first start for the the preparation, so has a few convictions, but yeah, I I think at double figures um it has been a bit of a forgotten runner and I reckon can run a bit of a race. Let's fly through these next couple boys. Emancipation stakes here, 1500 metres. Idle flyer is your favourite modella and Arctic glamour. The other one's single figures. Nathan, how are you seeing this one for the Phillies and Mayors?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'll keep this one pretty simple, Maxi. I think the market's got this spot on. I'm gonna have two bets in the race personally. Number six, Idle Flyer on top for me. I love that first up run. Uh, behind Gangster Granny, that was in the Winona Girl. I think that's the right form line. That was first up, 1200 metres here, second up, steps straight up to 1500. I think it's a very, very nicely placed mare here, the daughter of Dundee. Jordan Barrier 5, Zach Lloyd, he sticks, and that gives me great confidence. The trial since was airborne as well. So around that$3 idle fly on top, and the other one I got it back is one that Josh identified there last start, and that's Modella down the bottom of the page, number 13. Around that$7 as well. They're my two bets in the race. Hopefully, one of them can win. I think third up into the campaign. This also been competitive in a cool mall, but this is a very nice chance here. When we've got that low-hanging fruit in that benchmark 88, but this emancipation is very, very winnable. So I want to take her with a stack of respect. So Ottafly and Modella, my two bets. In for third. I've gone with uh number 10. That's Churchill's choice. Was no match for Tullery's last start or first up, I should say, over the 1400 metres at Newcastle. But looks like he can turn the she can turn the tables from a soft draw there in barrier six. And the other one that I'll chuck in for fourth is number two, Verona Rose. This horse was going to start favourite uh in a Coolmore, drifted late, but I still thought it was a really, really good run behind Lazarus. Could easily be the form, and I could be wrong.$8 looks a bit of value, so must be included in your quaddies, boys. But Idle Flyer, Modella, one of them win, I'll get a result.
SPEAKER_03All right, what about you, Josh? Emancipation stakes. How are you seeing it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm very similar. I'll I've I'll follow Sack Lloyd, and he would add the choice of the two runners. He's decided to stick with Idle Flyer. I'll put that on top. Six goes, he's had a north for five wins, and this horse undefeated second up. So that's the main thing for me, pushing in Idle Flyer's favour. And yeah, love the troll in between and handles the wet ground. So Idleflyer on top from Modella, drawn awkwardly. But if it gets a fast run race, which you think it would with perfumus being in the field, could flow over the top late. And for third I'll put in J MacWaller there on Firestorm at around the$15 that handles the wet grand and loves Rose Hill. Could bounce back third up after the run to Cormore and then Ferona Rose in for fourth. Another one that's flying this campaign and doesn't mind the wet deck, but Idle Flyer for me on top, Maxi.
SPEAKER_03Oh boys, what's going on with Arctic Glamour? Why aren't we tipping it? I mean, what's it done wrong? Uh it goes on top for me. Um, if we were playing$100 to bet on this race, full Hunty on uh Arctic Glamour. Um look, Idle Flyer deserves to be favourite, but just love the way this horse has come back. Um I thought it was great there behind Verona Rose first up, and then it was excellent and nearly ended up winning the Coolmore there last up. Yes, it was a bit of a bunchy finish, but it is the premier form line leading intowards this race as it drops down in quality. Um draws a little awkward there in barrier eight, but yeah, I mean what price Lazura in a field like this um kind of thing like that. That's my sort of thinking, and I think now third up ready to strike at a track that it prefers over Ramwick. I think Rose Hill's its track and doesn't have to give up much weight to pretty much a lot of this field. So yeah, Arctic Glamour goes on top from Idol Flyer, Modella, everything you boys have outlined, and I'll chuck in Firestorm for a little bit of value too there. J Mac and Walla, it's hard to go past that combination, is it boys? Um, let's move on to the Tank Ridd. Sink our teeth into this one a little bit more because Aliana versus Dubai Honor versus Vorban. Oh, this is a mouth ordering affair. It's a shame we ended up uh not getting sodius in uh this race, but yeah, I can't wait for it. Wait for age, 2,400 metres here. Um we got one of the European invaders here in Dubai Honor. He lobs up in this race each and every year, it feels like, and goes first or second nearly every year. Um, yeah, how do we break it down? Because Dubai on is oh so honest, and Aliana's off an awesome performance their last start, and so was Vorban as well. So look, they're the three obvious um selections in this race, Nathan. How'd you break it down? Like one of those three have to go on top, unless you're going for some big value about maybe a Solar Spain or River of Stars. Um, how'd you break it down? I I think this is probably race of the day.
SPEAKER_02It's such an it's gonna be such a tactical race, isn't it, Maxie? And I think that's what it comes down to in terms of the way you want to tip your winner here. I agree. I think the top three in the market make the most sense. I think one of them win. Um and I think the reason I'm gonna be against Aliana is because my future circuits Gonsky for the Doncaster. Um angry at the stable, uh, Chris Waller. Uh you've you've ruined my relationship with Aliana. We were in love, but uh it is no longer. Uh because Dubai Honor's rocked up. Uh, I'm gonna lean that way, boys. Uh, I'm with Duby Honor on top. I'm gonna trust the overseas horse. Jeez, he's just such an old, honest galloper, isn't he? He's an eight-year-old now. But every time Willie Hagis brings his horse to Australia, he just grows another league. He won this race last year so stylishly beating Duke de Zessa. It was so, so impressive that day. And then subsequently, how good was he in the Queen Elizabeth? Best of the beaten brigade, comfortably, thought was enormous on that occasion when Via Sistina got the job done, and then went to Hong Kong and just didn't quite show up. The race was run very strangely on that occasion, so I want to be forgiving. And it's forming the UK since has been very, very good. Uh, won a listed race, albeit um at Kempton Park. Oh, sorry, pardon me, one that's uh where was the where was the win, Josh? Tell me.
SPEAKER_01Oh, the win at Southwell.
SPEAKER_02Thank you. Uh one well there. Uh that was good at Kempton Park as well. Uh had to carry weight in both those runs as well, 62 kilos and 64 respectively. So gets in here considering pretty light with the 59. Uh we get uh Aussie Tom on board. And the thing that I like about him here, boys, is the map favours. I know he's drawn out an eight, but I think they can just go forward, and uh, I think we'll be winning and hopefully winning well. Uh look, Aliana, she's a star. She could easily win as well. And so with that, boys, I'm playing a bit of trickery. I'm actually just gonna have a Quinella. I'm just gonna back him in a Quinella, 100 bucks. Du Bay Honor, Aliana, they run the top two for me. One of them win. I couldn't figure out which way, so I'm just gonna back him in a Quinella,$100 that way. Vorbarn, you're dead to me. In for third, uh, and then in for fourth, Solar Spain. Uh I just uh it was the best run behind Vorbarn. Not so sure that horse can turn the tables. Really like Solar Spain, though, in general, probably the Sydney Cup uh race for him where he's gonna be um read a peak here. But uh yeah, look, boys, I just I just I've had enough of Vorban. Never again. He's he's done he's done my dough too many times. And the one time I've tipped him, he won, and every other time I tipped him, he's done nothing. So it is what it is. But uh yeah, Eliana Dubana, I think one of them win. Um so hopefully we can land that Quinella.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, geez, he's a hard one to catch. I can tell you that much. Um, Josh, how do you see this race? I mean, the European invader, I mean, Randy in this race last year ended up getting the dub in a very, very um dominant performance being Duke Decessa. Is it simple again? Does Duboy Honor just come out and lob up against this field and uh destroy them? Or does Aeliana put up a really good challenge like the market is suggesting?
SPEAKER_01I well, I honestly think this is a stronger race than last year's Tancred. I think Aliana winning the Ramford on the week back up, and that was uh as dominant as I've ever seen for Barn win in Australia in its two winter ten Australia, obviously. But to sit outside speed and kick like it did, I think uh Dubana I think is facing a stronger fear. yield than last year. And saying that, Dubana being double the price of Aleana, I have to back it just based on that fact alone. I mean$3.80, uh yeah,$3.60 compared to$1.80 for Aliana. I think they should be both around$2.90 a pair equal favorites. Dubiner, like you mentioned, grows another league coming here. Undefeated at Rose Hill. You talked about the uh Tankeruan last year. What about the Ranford win two years ago when Ryan Moore was on it? Gave an absolute belting. So this horse loves Rose Hill, loves the wet deck. So does Aliana. So that might be why there's a bit of money for Ariana as well. But at the$3.60 I'll just put a straight hundred on Dubana to go back to back in the tankrid. Aliana in for second, for Barn in for third, and Solar Spain in for fourth. Really competitive race, but at the price and the lead for me is boys, Tom Marquand came here rather than running riding in Dubai World Cup night. So that tells me all I need to know he thinks his horse is ready to go in his opinion and in my opinion it is two and I'll put it on top.
SPEAKER_03Yeah I'll make it three for three Dubai on top I just think best bet areas to be honest. And I think you hit the nail on the head there Josh in terms of the pricing of the market I had um Aliana and Dubai on a both marked at that 280 sort of mark. Yeah and the fact that we're getting sort of closer to four bucks yes please I'm just going to load up on that one. Aliana goes in there for second Vorbarn third and then yeah Solar Spain. No knock Solar Spain's become incredible this preparation just building into it nicely off what we saw first up, second up and third up I think it's close to a win heading towards the Sydney Cup no doubt I just think it runs into a very very nice one in Dubai Honor who you know last time he was here in Australia came out won this race in the tank rate towed up a pretty similar sort of field and then went down to a Via Sistina. Is Aliana on Via Sistina's level not quite wouldn't say so like that's the level of competition that Dubai honor is sort of flirting around so yeah I I think the price difference between the two you just have to go Dubaiona's way. And the market's starting to reflect that a little bit it's starting to push a little bit more towards Dubaiana now after that initial fields get announced but uh the J MacWall factor cannot be denied they're going to be ultra ultra hard to beat uh and yeah the Haggis team they're not here for a holiday um or at least Izzy Paul's not here for a holiday um yeah they'll be looking to get a big dub another group one to his CV boys last race we're going to be touching on there at Rose Hill is the Doncaster prelude win and you're in next week sepples has lobbed up the favourite here for the Brown camp Tommy Berry rides Ixuno off for um a very unlucky run there behind Crystal Green last start and Lord Penman as well but this is a wide open race Nathan how did you find it over the 1500 metres it is a wide open race Maxie but I I think there's two horses here both making the trip up the highway that I think are very very good bets and so I'm going to have two bets and one of them is the favourite here that's number one sepples thought the first up run behind Cabalas in the new market was sensational.
SPEAKER_02Up on speed drawn the right part but I thought was a really really nice run SP'd around that$20 so you do have to stomach a bit of an SP hit here second up but you don't have to go to the end of last preparation this horse was running into second behind Autumn Glow in a golden eagle I think that's clearly the best form line for a race like this and how well he is going second up here drawn a little augly in barrier nine but I think Tommy Berry can get the right run and if the the track's paying evenly with the soft ground hopefully storming down the middle of the track I think sepples is a really really good bet here. And the other one I want to back you forgive one run I don't understand why Feroce$11 I think it's a massive price and been missed in the market. I thought the first up run behind Tommy Kitten was brilliant and then second up I just think it was a little bit flat behind Pericles I want to be forgiving and I think this horse is better ridden forward and ridden up on speed this horse was uh albeit well beaten by Autumn Globe but comes out of that golden eagle as well and even in that preparation had a few runs that were a little bit uneven. So has good form behind sepples and if I like sepples I can like Feroce at the price I think third up Billy Egan sticks right barrier there barrier one the trial since was really really good as well so I think this horse can bounce back third up in the campaign around that$11. So two bet strategy here in this race and I'm very very keen sepples and Feroce in for third I've gone with Ixuto. I wanted to find this horse closer on top but I just don't know where they end up they do accept it for a race at Melbourne as well so if they end up in Melbourne I think they're a really good bet but if they end up here I think it's a little bit tougher so not really sure. Should have won last time we all know that when beaten by Crystal Clear but horse might be finding its own bad luck. 550 good enough and got to go in the multiples so if you're having a quaddy must be included and then Lord Penman as well a horse that is probably his own worst enemy in terms of his pattern he ends up back and wide in his races but that might be the go on Saturday anyway at Rose Hill. But two bets two bets for me Maxi in the Doncaster prelude I'm gonna have one on sepples and one on Feroce and I'm very keen on both.
SPEAKER_01Alright what about you Josh who are you keen on the Donny prelude well after that run by Sepples in the new market I said I want to back it wherever it goes it went to this race so I'm gonna back it boys on with sepples here I think it's a really good bet here Don cast the prelude. The only negative is the weight I can see carrying the 59 half kilos but uh second up undefeated and is a group one winner second up last prep at Corfield should handle the trip. Last time this horse ran over 1500 metres on a wet deck ran second to Autumn Glow in the Golden Eagle. So that form line will do me you again$4 at some stages for this horse I thought that was a great price. It's come in since and now$3.20 favourite sepples for me on top Tommy Berry Cliffy Brown should be winning this heading towards the Doncaster on the week back up. So sepples on top and for second number four Robusto is the one at the wrong price for me in this race ran second to Crystal Clear first up and I know it was one of the ones that didn't get disadvantaged but I thought it was still a good return in the Ajax been a while since it's run a wet deck but handles wet ground this horse and uh really likes Rose Hill. So Robusto at$90$5 a place I think is the forgotten runner at the price in for third I'll put in in sudo I do believe though it might go to Melbourne after all this rain that's hit here in Sydney so look out for that. But if it comes here is a great chance I'll put in for third and I'll put Lord Penman in for fourth draws us off the gate um but it's like you mentioned its own worst enemy if K Mac can get it out of the gate and push it into a fourth position can run a really big race and$8.50 looks a cracking price for that horse as well but for me boys I'm gonna follow sepples and I think it can win this heading towards a Doncaster.
SPEAKER_03Yeah I I understand why you boys are keen on it um just a little bit too rich for me I I think Lord Penman is the value runner in this race there. I don't mind it there at the$8.50 yes disappointing last start behind crystal clear um wanted to see a little bit more but it was just written so negative so look I'm hoping K Mac from uh Barrier 6 um good to see him back in the saddle actually should have given him a bit of a push uh well done the group one last week on uh Mahuna um K Mac back in the saddle um yeah I I think can bounce back um you know off what was a really really nice uh win first up in the preparation so draws nicely there barrier six um hopefully they can use that barrier just settle somewhere midfield you don't need to get dragged all the way back to last um yeah and I think Lord Penman is right there in this race from Ixuno um for everything you boys have outlined as well look the unlucky runner from last start yes I feel like money's gonna come for him very late so if you're keen on him I reckon back him now sepples will go in there for third and then I'll chuck in cool jakie as well to round out the numbers there too. Honest horse honest as a day is long up on speed runner draws nicely out of barrier three this time around so won't have to work too hard and doesn't mind the wet either so definitely want to be keeping it safe. Boys before we dive into best bets I just wanted to duck into one of the earlier races in the day it's the Neville Selwood here. This is for the four year olds and older at group two level staying a fair 2000 metres um got a really nice horse here for the Haggis team that was originally going towards a Ranvet in caviar heights but geez all the talk is about this J Mac and Wallap airing here in um Banara Bernavara yeah Barnavara yeah Barnavara um boys goes around at$1.70 it's just drifted out a roll it was$1.60 when I was looking at it before um what do we make of this runner? And the fact that Walton Verney as well decided to go to this race as opposed to um the Tank Rid um I thought was pretty fascinating but geez bring some solid group one form lines um in towards a race like you know and then Neville Selwood is this potentially Josh via Sistina areas um a group one horse purchased by Yulong brought over to Chris Waller J Mac rides geez it's got just two shades of it doesn't it well they've paid enough money for it for them to think that it's at Fierce Stina level I think they actually paid more for this horse than they did Fia Sistina so that's saying something this horse is still a bit progressive.
SPEAKER_01I don't think it's as good a horse as Fierce Stina was when uh when Fear Sistina came over obviously she won the Ranfort first up they've decided to go to a Neville Selwood here but that might be obviously because uh the plane was a bit late they might have been heading towards a little Ranfort first up I'm not sure but they've landed here but you can only go by what you've seen and its last two starts have been very good and the difference between this horse and Fierce is this horse is a uh front running leaderish type of horse did that winning the pre-opra on an arc weekend last year which is a pretty good race good horses win their race horses like Tanawa come to mind that have won the pre-diopera so it's a really strong formline race so um bit short for me to be backing it first up in this race even though um like like we talked about um the clo it should have the class to win but I'm gonna be watching it this weekend at a dollar seventy but um if it comes out and does a job here be interesting to see if they uh put it away go to a Queen Elizabeth or if they even freshen and take it on say a Doombin Cup campaign but um they've bought this horse even though it's won the pretty obvious they've bought it based on potential and they think it can go to a new level in Australia.
SPEAKER_02Potentially like go down that Via Sistina path like potentially go up to Queensland win a group one up there and then spell tackle towards a cox plate even if it really hits the heights um that they you know the money that they paid for it um obviously uh very high expectations um you reckon it just wins Nathan a dead set put in takeout this is Cerdilius and Brisbane stuff this is dead set over yeah I mean I I I don't know why Josh be bullish alright this is this is unlike you this thing's gonna dead set carve them up jump I mean who's it up against it up against Walton Verney Won Verney's second favourite that horse couldn't run a drum to Vorbarn this is over alright trust me boys uh I'm gonna come back on the potty next week and have absolute egg running down my face but I think this is a put in put out job I think its European form is sensational the day then for you goes in every multi you have every single multi you have this horse is in it I think it's two for two on the soft over in the UK and a soft over in the UK is a heavy for us.
SPEAKER_03I mean seriously they've gone to a Neville Selwood this horse is going to start second favourite in our Queen Elizabeth I'm telling you now okay bullish what is J Mac ride obviously autumn glow but uh I mean second favourite going towards it I mean geez if this come horse comes out wins by 10 links does he potentially talk to the camp and be like no no no you don't want to go up against Autumn Glow split them up yeah yeah go towards the Sydney Cup instead that's right I think I think probably the bigger question this race is can you get caviar heights five dollars based on its form and the UK that's what I'm trying to tell that's what I'm trying to say boys I'm sorry I like I I get it is Willie Haggis European horse comes over you've got to be respecting them five dollars come on I I don't I'd like for for a horse that can't win a listed race last campaign and here you've got um Barnavaria group one winner um during probably one of the most prestigious european carnivals um over there it's like it's the Melbourne Cup carnival of Europe. It gets a kilo it gets a kilo on her like come on yeah yeah like I understand it and the caviar heights did have pretty big expectations um it was going to go towards a Ranvet if the flight didn't get delayed that's what the initial plan was and this is the backup um as it heads towards I think Sydney Cup is the plan for this runner um which like fair enough have a crack at it as well because I think stepping up to you know that sort of trip um yeah wonder what weight it's going to be carrying it's probably not going to be carrying too much for an older European um uh you know gelding um yeah I I I I just couldn't get it at that price I just thought the dollar seventy um yeah I just wanted to get your boys' opinion see what you thought of it because it almost looked like free money and that that had me a little bit nervous so I'm glad you boys have tipped it over the line for me uh best bet areas but uh odds on geez it's it's hard to really spruok that but um no I like the bullishness um speaking of best bets I've already gave in a little bit of an early push for Dubai honour as my best bet of the weekend but I've got a couple others down south but I want to hear yours first so Nathan I'll come to you best bets this weekend where are they lobbying?
SPEAKER_02Yeah it's an interesting weekend for best bets Maxie I thought it was hard I thought uh you're worth sprooking a bit of value uh this weekend in terms of the best bets so that's where I'm gonna start I'll start at Rose Hill for my actually no we'll go back to one of the races we've covered first and that's the Australian Cup Sabaj each way in the Aussie Cup I think is a terrific each way bet. I mentioned that so he's my best each way bet. My best bet's at Flemington but before we go there I'll give you a couple value runners at Rose Hill and we'll do it after Banavari is absolutely lobbed up in the Neville cell we'll go to race number three that's the Bellamiew obviously this race is a is a very uh interesting race in terms of the two year olds moving forward to the size and I'm gonna have a double header here with a couple of the Godolphin runners both of them really really good prices. The first one's number five diameter a very interesting runner there was second ran fourth pardon me behind Grinzinger Hart last time out that was at Flemington over 1400 metres now comes up the highway to Rose Hill all its runs have been at Flemington finally gets to Sydney here this one trained by Chris Waller Timmy Clark in the saddle there drawn out awkwardly in barrier 11 but I want to trust that run uh behind Grinzinger Hart I know uh uh what was the horse called ran the slipper uh Zambalo's Zambaros thank you Josh didn't quite frank the form but I thought the run was okay so I'm gonna suggest that that horse can still run well here diameter that's the first one the other one is a horse that I've tipped up a few times this prep and I am getting frustrated but I think it's its time and that's number seven high alert I know it hasn't won here in its four starts but up to 1400 metres looks ideal. I thought was really good behind Warwoven just got smashed the entire straight forget the run I thought was a good run in the Pago Pago and now here fifth up 1400 metres this is nearly grand final day uh wouldn't surprise me if they won a race like this and spelled it to be honest because it has been a long uh preparation for the Sun of Street boss but there my two I'm gonna go with the Godolphin horses diameter and also high alert in the Bellinu. I think they're both really really good bets and we'll go back over to Flemington for my best bet of the day and I think we're gonna get a really really good price for a talented mare. We're gonna go to race number two this is the York plate over 1400 meters and we're gonna stick at the top of the page and that's number one Burma Star. I think it's a really good bet there at the$5. I think you go back to last preparation was a really good winner at this course and distance on soft ground when beating tagline that was when Joe Moreira won uh Josh Tip I think both you boys might tip this horse at an each way price it was a really really good bet that day and then was really good behind she's an alibi obviously that form's come out and been franked all over the shop and then was excellent first up behind legacy bound Hugh Bowman drawn in barrier three now a little bit awkwardly here with Damian lay in the saddle drawn in gate 12 and the 60 kilos but I just think she's got class on this field. You go through a few of these horses I think looking to be up further in trip in good form but not quite that A grade like a Ramassus I think is going really well is going really well but they haven't quite reached the the heights that a Burma star has hence she's got to carry the weight and I think she can I think$5 is more than fair. Jump on now I think that's a fair price that$5 for Burma star so that's my best bet this weekend boys.
SPEAKER_03No I love it I love it. Just quietly a do of a tip floating around at work uh for another runner at big odds there. No no yes number 15 in that race uh coming off a maiden win so uh maybe keep that safe there Nathan but um no I do like Burma Star in that race um does look like a very very honest Gallopper. Josh best bets this weekend where are they lobbying?
SPEAKER_01Well I'll say I'm my fairy runner I mentioned earlier in the pod and the Tullock brave dancer I think is a good each way plan that race like the formline like the wet deck Billy Egan for Matt Kamani give it strength that's my fairy. Now I'll give you two more best bets. We'll go down to Flemington and you talked about two Haggis runners in Australia this weekend. I'm gonna say three because my best bet at Flemington we're going to race number seven the Roy Higgins and I'm with a horse here second up from the Haggis camp with the Kieran Ma camp and that's number six Desert Hero I really loved the return first up here boys over the 2000 meters behind our Cora and now it's stepping up to 2600 meters I was going to follow it wherever it went at landed here. Harry Coffey jumps on will handle the wet ground we're gonna get down there has a good second up record with the 56 kilos$5. Yes please I'll make that my best bet at Flemington and then we're going overseas boys for Dubai World Cup night and I've got a best bet there in race number three the Dubai Gold Cup the top weight here boys our riffer should be winning the Dubai Gold Cup here boys at around the$2.20 but at set weights I love that it comes out of a Melbourne and I thought it was a good run in the Hong Kong Farz behind Sosie. So at$2.20 it faces quite a tough field but I think with Dylan Brown McMonogal jumping on it can get the job done for us. So our riffer desert hero and brave dancer for me boys for the best bets this weekend.
SPEAKER_03Alright you and I were going head to head Josh I'm going with another international runner in the Roy Higgins is a bit of a value runner and that's number one here one smooth operator. Benny Mellon jumps on board for the Fitzsimmons camp um yeah thought it was pretty good there last start um in behind Birdman for you know start of preparation now jumps up to the 2,600 metres much more um much more reliable over this sort of trip than over Sir the Mile. Hasn't won anything short of 2,000 metres so yeah I I'm very keen on one smooth operator in that race. So mate I'll go you for a six pack in that one over Desert Hero um yeah because I agree I think the top of the market here in uh Lit Steel um and Paradise Storm I think that's pretty big hole in the market I do not want to be touching them. So yeah look for a little bit of value um as my other best bet mention it do by honor and then I'm gonna go to the other race um feature race of the day there at Flemington. It's the um Bob Hoisted handicap race number nine here over the thousand meters down the Flemington Strait. I tipped it last start over there when it was in Adelaide Celerity going to be tipping it again here there's nothing wrong with the inside part of the track um when you go down the Flemington Strait any more boys uh draws barrier one of one um barrier one of one uh draws barrier one of fourteen here uh against this sort of field yes lobs up the favorite but the fact that Jamie uh mellum is going to be sticking as well a consistent gallop but you're getting$4.20 I honestly would have taken about three bucks for this sort of runner against this sort of field. The only other runner in this field that maybe has me a little bit nervous is the likes of a Midwest um as it's sort of deep in the preparation had a couple runs um and looking to peak about third up but yeah I I just can't get past the price that they're giving us about Celerity gonna Be starting much, much shorter for a consistent caliper. That's one down the Flemington Strait before. Two for two with Jamie Mellum. So hopefully she can make it three for three this weekend. Boys, we tipped a stack of winners and recapped a ton. Monster Pod as always, and geez, championships. They start next week. Nathan, cannot wait. Look forward to seeing you then.
SPEAKER_02It just keeps better and better, doesn't it, Maxie? I'm very excited for next week. Hopefully, I found plenty of winners. And look, we had a bit of recap. It was a massive weekend just gone, but it just keeps rolling on. There's always big racing, and Tanker Day is another absolute ripper. Good luck, punis. Hope we found a few. Hopefully found a few to you as well, Josh.
SPEAKER_03Go well this weekend.
SPEAKER_01Rose Hill looks great there this weekend. Flampton looks great. And if you're up, uh have a bet at Dubai for their World Cup night. You've got the likes of Ombudsman Kaland again, and you've got Forever Young there going for the double Saudi Cup into Dubai World Cup. So uh great racing this weekend and looking forward to the championships next week, boys.
SPEAKER_03Oh, cannot wait to recap it next week and find plenty more winners. Thanks for tuning in, and as always, good luck on the pun.
