Jay swears he didn’t want to go to Boston, and destiny punished him accordingly; with a sleepy drag show, a performer named Frisky Business, and a full-blown lecture for calling someone “darling.” Meanwhile, AJ was playing Acting Manager of the Year, juggling puppy fights, power outages, and employee chaos like a Bravo crossover episode. Between a $35 Hamilton miracle (third row, second-act nap included), DJ gossip, Potomac scandals, and Meredith Marks’ tragic DJ debut, the boys prove chaos is their love language. It’s safe spaces, bad manners, and gay blessings; all poured over wine and mild regret.

Catch-Up And Missed Recording

SPEAKER_00

Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to Dose of Delusion. It is me, your host, yours truly, Jay. And I am blessed with the presence of again, you know him, you love him, we love him. AJ the Silver Fox. AJ, how are you? Tell us everything.

SPEAKER_01

Hi. Um, I am doing very well. I am um, you know, it's it's just been quite a week coming off of. And the last time we spoke, it's been a couple of weeks since then. Um, there were like trouble and schedules that we just kind of like missed uh sesh. So um I'm sure you have things to cover and go over.

Boston Trip Backstory

SPEAKER_00

You went to Boston? Yeah, yeah, which is exactly why we missed last week's session. So did I know I was going to Boston? Yes. I've known for about eight months that I was going to Boston. Oh. Yeah, but here's the thing like, I never wanted to go. So, like, long story long, is uh I had a good friend of mine and colleague who was moving up here back from Texas as well, uh, to work in the same organization that I work with. And even before she was officially offered a position, she's like, Hey, if I move up there, you have to promise to go to Boston with me in October. And I said, Yeah, and I put it in my calendar. And then a few months goes by. She's up here now. She's like, let's buy our tickets. And so we bought her tickets. And I like kind of forgot about the trip. She did not. She absolutely did not forget about the trip. So next thing you know, it's a few weeks out, and I'm like, I don't want to go. I don't want to go to this Boston trip. But, you know, something that you do a lot of times you you do things because they matter, not because you want to, right? And I know this trip.

SPEAKER_01

I'm such a good friend.

Acting Manager Week From Hell

SPEAKER_00

I'm such a good friend. And I know this trip was meaning a lot to her. And I'm like, you know what? She has brought this up since before she moved up here, and she's one of those people that's really in touch with literally everything. You know, she could see a red sign on the wall, and it'll remind her of something from her childhood, and she'll talk about it. So I'm like, okay, I gotta go on this trip. But I guess because I didn't want to go, it was like in the way back in my mind on a back burner. And then we're talking about recording, and I'm like, oh shit. I literally fly out tomorrow at like 6 a.m. And um, yeah, I ended up in in in Boston, which I got a small little quick few story, a few small, quick, short stories to tell you about that. Anyways, um, what have you been up to?

SPEAKER_01

I okay, so I okay, we didn't record. Um, and so I feel like I was like, Well, I want to have a drink, you know what I mean? Like, so I think I went out and um did I meet people? I don't, you know, it's it's all kind of fuzzy, you know what I mean? So um went out, um, had a couple of drinks, um, but nothing too crazy because I knew it was gonna be a long um upcoming week. So my boss actually um took some some much needed PTO and went out to I think Playa de Carmen. So so that means next in line means I'm in charge. So there was a whole bunch of things that went down. Starting her first day off was Friday, and she didn't return until this past Monday. So it was like a whole 10 days, right? Where um I am the acting manager and just kind of like, you know, but I've been there, done that, and I roll with all the punches, right?

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I can't go into too many details, but let's just say there were for national security purposes. Exactly, you know, we're the same. So um so so there was like some kind of like animal altercation, and then the following.

SPEAKER_00

Oh girl, spill the tea. No, I can't. Oh my god, talking euphemism.

SPEAKER_01

NDAs. Um, so no, there was just like there was um so so there was just kind of like a little puppy brawl, but like nothing to like everyone's fine, the puppies are fine, the um pet owners are fine, they're you know, but but they had dinner the next day. Like, you know what I mean? Like they're fine, right? Um, and then are you pouring something?

SPEAKER_00

I'm wanting to pour some wine. If the bottle magically appeared in my hand. Go on.

SPEAKER_01

Right. So you want me to or do you want me to spill the tea, is what you're doing, right?

SPEAKER_00

So no, no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_01

Go ahead, go on. Oh, I got it. Okay, sorry. Okay. Um so for those of you listening and not seeing, um, he has a little behind-the-scenes help right now. I'm talking about Jay. And his cup is just magically filling up with tequila, and now it's grape juice. I don't know. It's some kind of weird chaser. Um so okay. So that was a first date, right? And then um, weekend off nothing, nice crickets, like I enjoy it. Um, I hang out with two very close dear friends of ours who were in town visiting from California.

SPEAKER_00

Who was a town?

SPEAKER_01

Um from California, Joseph and Ryan.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, love, I miss them so much.

Bravo Headlines And Potomac Gossip

SPEAKER_01

They were in ACL for um whenever that happened. And then I um um and though, so maybe I didn't see them that weekend. I don't know. Like I said, it's a blur. Like my weekends conjumbled together, if that's even a word. So, okay. Back to my hellish week. So come Monday, I walk in and the power for the entire block goes down. I get there at nine, it goes down at like 9 05. And so the power for the entire uh community, and we have like office spaces and residential goes down. No internet, no power, no AC, no nothing. Like it's like brownout, so it's like gone. And I don't look outside.

SPEAKER_00

Every other weekend for me, go on, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and so then I go outside and like one of the street lights on the far end is like out. So I'm like, okay, it's not just my building, it's like, you know, an outage. So get on the phone, da-da-da. But that was like the longest 30 minutes of my like, usually, like if it goes down and turns back on, it's like five, 10 minutes crazy, right? But this was like a full-on between 30 to 40 minutes, and it was like it felt like five hours because I'm having to like answer calls and answer to the office people, and um, you know, just like the higher ups are like, what's going on? And just trying to like you know, but calm and profession, handle the situation, um, and then like the week just got like better after that. I'm like, if this is a start, what else could happen, right? So um, nothing too crazy, little system down this and that, and whatever. Okay, so that was just like the the hellish week that I went through at work. So, like the first day that I'm able to go get off and have a drink, I'm like, I'm drinking. So um come Friday, um, and uh just kind of like do that kind of craziness of a weekend with the boys that were in town visiting. So it's really really cool to see them um um caught up on some housewives, started Potomac. Did you watch Potomac?

SPEAKER_00

I have not watched Potomac, although I don't know why it's literally like down the street from my house, but or my apartment, but I have not watched it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so it seems interesting, and but I feel like I didn't see last season, so I'm kind of lost with some of the drama that's that's there. I was only like a part of like some of it, and then like the whole Karen D.

SPEAKER_00

But waiting. You didn't do the AJ special where you just only watch the reunion, get all the gossip and drama, and then start fresh with the next season?

SPEAKER_01

I think I did, but it just wasn't that great. I don't think I think I may have seen half of the first one.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so um go ahead, sorry.

SPEAKER_01

So so I watched a little bit of it, right? Because I'm Karen's back out and she should be coming back to the show, right? So I'm that's what I'm like really excited for. Um but on that note, because you haven't even watched it, so we're not gonna discuss too much about it. Did you see Wendy Osepho got arrested for like some kind of fraud? I think it was like entrance fraud or something. I know you saw that.

SPEAKER_00

Like you had yes, I saw it. And I I I saw it because this is how I saw it. So, you know, Bravo Con is happening this weekend, I believe.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

Salt Lake City Delivers Drama

SPEAKER_00

And after that, after Wendy had got arrested for that, one of my coveted uh radio show hosts and podcasters, Michelle Collins, had tweeted, some ladies are taking Bravo con a little too seriously. But all the house. Well, I think like some housewives are taking Bravo Khan a little too seriously, and I was like, girl, that was fucking hilarious. So yeah, I went down that rabbit hole.

SPEAKER_01

I know, and I mean, there's I haven't even like I just saw, you know, I don't clickbait, right? So I just saw some of the headlines and then refused to click on it. So I don't know the full details either, right? So I just didn't like her. She got too big for her britches. And with the the boob jobs and the ass job and everything that she ended up getting, I think she just got like too much. And then so I'm just kind of like, this is what she fucking gets, and this is what she fucking deserves. Thoughts?

SPEAKER_00

No, I I do need to catch up on it because I obviously I only read the headlines and I did click on the links because I'm not afraid of that. And I was reading about her specific situation, but I have not been following the rest of the cast and their stories and their drama when it comes to uh RHO Potomac, which I really, really should get into. Put that on my list of things to do.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it looks like it's gonna be interesting, so we won't go too much into that. Um, and then of course, Salt Lake has been giving.

SPEAKER_00

I did not watch, well, for full disclosure, we are recording on a Wednesday. So this week's episode just released today. I have not watched it, but I am all caught up after that. So the last I did watch was Whitney, although I find her voice to be a little annoying, and I'm not the biggest fan of her red hair. She did throw a really great, you know, luncheon with the ladies, and I did uh um card readings and the drama included, and everybody just throwing daggers directly at Britney, directly to her face, and she's just taking them, and it's hilarious. If you haven't watched it, you need to get caught up. We won't go into the details here because I could talk about it for hours.

SPEAKER_01

Right. No, no details, but also to branch off and more adjacent news with the Salt Lake. Did you see their um, I think it was like us weekly cover photo? Where the fuck was Angie? I think she was in it, wasn't she? She wasn't, or was it just that I think there was five. So what five?

SPEAKER_00

It was Meredith, Lisa, Heather. I'm not sure if Bronwyn was there. Um, what's her name? Uh Sister Mary Clarence, Sister Mary, um, Mary Cosby. Mary Cosby. Um, but Angie K was not. There was five. But Angie K was not there. So who was the fifth? I don't know, but Angie K was not there. Brittany, maybe? No, she was not in it. All I know is that Angie K was not there, and I was like WTF.

SPEAKER_01

She was in it. Can we have the producer in the background look up um producer Renee?

SPEAKER_00

Look up the Us Weekly cover of the Housewives and chime in whenever that happens. While you're doing that, go on.

SPEAKER_01

So, okay, so there's just been discussion on they're mimicking the desperate housewives. And their pose was exactly like the desperate housewives, which is why I know that there were five.

SPEAKER_00

That is why my Mandela effect was going on. That is why it resonated with me, but I wasn't sure if that was a house, a desperate housewives.

SPEAKER_01

Out of the amount of different housewives cities that they've been, and Desperate Housewives has always been a thing. They chose Salt Lake City to be the mimic of it because they are bringing it and they are they are the Desperate Housewives. They are their drama that is has come up and what they've done with their, I think what, like five seasons, is like that is you know comparable to Desperate Housewives.

Boston Drag Show Setup

SPEAKER_00

Every Bravo expert that I listen to and follow and watch will say that I'll be obviously no reality TV is heavily produced, although it may not be scripted, it's still heavily produced and whatnot. But everyone that says that these Salt Lake City girls, they know how to do reality TV. They know what they're doing, they're giving us what we want. It's not looking overgun, it's not looking campy, it's not looking, it's not looking too produced or even scripted. They are serving what we want to eat, and we are fucking taking it all. Right.

SPEAKER_01

I I it's just so good. It is so good. But yeah, so I I saw that article and I was like, yes, they better serve and they better get it. And it was just it was done tastefully.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so um, I do have the cover though of us we can hear. Yes. All right. So in that cover, we have Lisa Barlow, we have Heather Gay, we have Sister Mary Cosby, we have Whitney, and then we have Meredith Marks, who we do not have is Angie Kay.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you, producer Renee. Thank you. Um then also, if you if you if you guys want to look it up, we'll post this on our um uh AJ handles all the social media stuff. I don't I don't even know what's going on with that. Um we'll post it because they went ahead and they did the uh a side-by-side of the Vanity Fair cover of the Desperate Housewives.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So it was it was just very well done. And I think that they did that without Angie because these are the original and still in it. So that would make sense then.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that would make sense. Okay, that makes sense because I was actually so the way the way I came across this is one of my acquaintances posted it on his story, and I responded, where the fuck is Angie K? Right. And then he took my response and everybody loved it, blah, blah, blah. But I didn't realize that it was an homage to the OG cast of Housewives, minus our original Bravo Khan. What is her name?

SPEAKER_01

Which one?

SPEAKER_00

Salt Lake City Khan.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, um She's Jen.

SPEAKER_00

Jen Shaw. I can't wait till she comes out of prison next year.

SPEAKER_01

She's not coming back. Um, so I know.

SPEAKER_00

I am so disappointed in that. Okay, but I do got to catch up on this week's episode. I cannot wait.

SPEAKER_01

It's um, it's it's it's just, I mean, it's just going good. So, you know, that's the kind of Salt Lake City.

The “Darling” Confrontation

SPEAKER_00

Have you heard so you know that Meredith Marks is doing, she's DJing now, right? Yes. Mr. Um Front of the DJ? Yes. Okay. So I was listening to another Bravo expert, and he was saying that it's like so cheesy that she gets up there and then she right before she starts playing, spinning, whatever they call it these days, she goes, I hope you guys like my set. And if you don't, you can leave.

SPEAKER_01

She's she's something else. And you know, she's she's rolling with the punches and she's doing what she could do, and she's, you know, living her best life. And I love that for her. Um, and I did post, I think, on my uh personal um Instagram, I think I did put, you know, like if if I was gonna be any kind of DJ, it would be one be like her. And then I shared like her little um video of her, and she was just standing there and like not even touching the decks. Like, you think she just hit play, and then it just like she pulled up Britney Spears on her circus tour.

SPEAKER_00

She just pushed play and then walked on stage and did her thing for 47 minutes. Exactly.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. So, so you know, she's having fun with it, and she's having like, you know, um, her husband and her kids show up to some of the events and stuff um or shows, and she's playing a lot of like um gay clubs. So of course, well, obviously, you know, that's her biggest fan base.

SPEAKER_00

She's not audience, she's not at Hakasan in Las Vegas, I'll tell you that much. Absolutely not actually.

SPEAKER_01

I think one of them was in Vegas, but I don't know which one. Um so so been, you know, catching up on that. Um I did also really okay, remember how I told you um when I had a brief stint uh with COVID uh like last month? Yeah. Um I'm I hadn't picked up um the Harry Potter game that I downloaded. So I played it again, but forgot how to do everything. So I'm really not a gamer, but I'm trying to be. So still doing that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my goodness. Okay, so I love that for you. Um I, like I said, went to Boston.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, go on.

SPEAKER_00

And um, I was pretty much just there to support my friend and her little trip. And she really was a big foodie, and she wanted to try a bite at every different restaurant, and she loves a little trinket store and and whatnot. So I guess she tried to do something for me. So she planned this trip from top to bottom. She kept asking me, Jay, what do you want to do? Where do you want to go? And I kept saying, Listen, honey, I do nothing but coordinate trips, plan trips from top to bottom for work, six months out of the year. The last thing I want to do is plan a trip. This is all you. So for me, she decided to pick a drag show at some off-to-beat in path bar, gay bar called uh Midway Lounge or something, uh Midway something in in Boston. And we went, and I am this is this was one of the worst experiences of my life, AJ. And I really want your advice on it. Anybody else's advice who wants to chime in or or weigh in on the comments. So we go to this show, and it ended up being less of a drag queen show, but more of a drag king show. I I was I was concerned it wasn't advertised as that by any means. It was advertised as a drag show followed by Karaoke. First time I've ever heard the term Kira, by the way.

SPEAKER_01

I like it.

Community, Pronouns, And Friction

SPEAKER_00

It's kind of cute. I first I've ever heard it though. Anywho. So we go and this person gets on stage. Uh their name is Frisky Business, and it is a a I'm I I'm I don't want to offend anybody, but it is um a born female, or I don't know what you call that. Um like she's they're doing drag king stuff, and so they have like just like a uh a sharpie on mustache and a sharpie on beard, and then it went up and and did a song where it was the most low energy karaoke, like literally just like unbutton their their their button-down shirt and just like lip sync to a song by moving like at this pace. And I said, Okay, that's strange. And then I find out that Frisky, after that Frisky Business does the perform performance, um, they talk about they talk about how they've produced a show and they're gonna take a break from producing. That way they can um uh focus on going to school and stuff and not and not producing shows anymore. So Frisky Business does a show and every other drag king goes up there and does the same thing. There were also some regular drag queens. Either way, it was a very, it was a very low energy show, but I'm supporting. I pulled cash out, I'm tipping every performer. I mean, I'm in this bar. There's about a total of seven people in the audience, and I'm I'm I'm here for it, just giving them all the attention that that they need. Anyway, so the whole show ends. It was lackluster, and that's me being polite. I now after the show ends, the bar starts filling up because now it's like about 11 o'clock or so. And I decided I decided I realized I need to go to the restroom. So I'm making my way to the bathroom and I'm walking through the crowd and I'm passing people. I'm saying, excuse me, Doll, excuse me, darling, excuse me, Doll, excuse me, darling. And I go to the restroom. I come back from the restroom, and one of the more attractive performers, this a male performer, I guess the drag queen, and he was very handsome, uh, says, Hey, can I talk to you? And I was like, Am I getting flirted with? Right. And so I'm like, Yeah, of course you can talk to me and we go. And then he tells me, Um, you went to the restroom earlier, and I said, Yeah. And he goes, and you passed by one of the performers. And I said, Maybe. And he goes, and you called them darling? And I said, Oh, yeah. And he goes, and then he proceeded to lecture me on how rude and inappropriate and wrong it is to call a drag, how to go to a drag show and then call a drag king darling, because that became it can be triggering to somebody and went on and on about their pronouns and how they identify. And I was really taken aback by that. And so I let him finish this whole spiel of scolding me essentially. And I said, Listen, like, I'm gay as fuck, and I'm here in a safe space, in your safe space, in my safe space. And I used a term that I would use for anybody, gay or straight across the board, public setting, private setting. It was a courtesy word to use as I'm passing through a crowd. I was like, Do you are you honestly telling me that this person was offended? And they were like, oh, well, they get triggered. And I was like, and I lost my cool AJ, I'm not gonna lie. I I went off and I was like, long story short, I pretty much was like, people like you are the reason why they are coming for us. I was like, this, and I was like, hey, I applaud you for standing up for your friend as someone you care about. Like, I mean, like, I applaud you for doing that. Like, I would do the same. I said, but can you truly tell me, do you honestly believe that Frisky was offended? And if and is like, and and and if they were, you know, Frisky, she's the reason, or they are the reason why they are coming for us. I was like, and this is ridiculous that I am here, a gay man in a safe space and having this conversation, being attacked by another person in this environment. I was like, and I I really lost my cool. And I said some other mean things, and I I addressed through weights, others shouldn't have, but um um whatnot. And then at one point he started using uh like he pronouns, and I said he or they. I corrected him, and he goes, Well, they go by both. And I was like, case in point, how am I supposed to know that? And it was just really absurd, and it actually like ruined my night because all I could think about was you know, there's this, and I'm not gonna say agree with it. I'm not gonna take that stance. You know, there's this huge, I don't want I shouldn't say huge, but there's a social movement where certain members or a size a sizable group of the lesbian and gay community say that the L and G needs to have a separation from the TQ plus IA because L and G are only about you know our sexual preference, and TQ plus AA are about gender identity. And, you know, part of me disagrees with that, or big part of me disagrees with that. We should all be one and whole in unity and be out for looking out for each other. But it was like in the moments like that that I was just like, it it pissed me off, it turned me off, and it was like, well, this is the reason why people think this way. You know what I mean? I'm having this conversation and being attacked in a bar, a gay man by another, I don't know what his sexuality is, because I said the word the darling on the way to the restroom. You know what I mean? And it was a triggering, it was a triggering word.

SPEAKER_01

But as if guys don't get called darling all the time, or you know, and especially in our and hello, we're from the south, we're from Texas, like we use doll and darling, and oh things, sweetie, whether it's a male or a female, like we just that's how we speak.

Resetting The Weekend Plans

SPEAKER_00

I literally I was I told this guy, and I was like, Do you think you know I spend my hard-earned money to fly out here to come to the show in the middle of fucking nowhere, watch the show, pull out my hard-earned cash from your ATM machine, and then tip every single performer to include Frisky, just to come and insult them intentionally? Are you are like, is that is that the thought process? Because if it is, maybe they shouldn't be out in public. And then I said take a look, a long look in the mirror, and this is where I got rude. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say what I said, but I said take a look in the mirror and realize that they are the problem. But yeah, it totally that was like an experience that I thought I would never have.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And it kind of it was day one of my trip to Boston, and I kind of like set the standard for the rest of the trip. So needless to say, I was very happy to be back.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, but again, I think it really stemmed from you not wanting to go on this trip, period. So I think that's where it all stemmed from. Are you blaming this on me? That's neither here nor there. I'm just I'm saying that I will end this call right now. No, I'm just saying, look, I think that you know, I'm really sorry that you went through something like that, and those are all valid points, but that for sure sealed the deal on the trip. But I'm saying you weren't excited to go on it to begin with.

SPEAKER_00

You're not wrong.

SPEAKER_01

You're not so that's that's all I'm saying. So whose fault is it? It's everyone's. Actually, it's her fault for inviting you. How about that? Let's start with her.

SPEAKER_00

Let's blame her. Yes, let's blame her.

SPEAKER_01

Let's blame her to move up there and and plan a whole trip and go to some lame off-the-beaten path bar. So um, are we gonna edit this out so she doesn't hear it?

SPEAKER_00

Or I don't care. I love her. Okay, yeah, well, fuck her then. Imagine. Yeah. Yeah. Just kidding. No, but ultimately that was my weekend. I don't I mean, I went to Boston. I I I was going to Boston thinking I was gonna have way more content to show you guys, but I really I was just not to be facetious or dramatic again. But ultimately, I was going just to be a good friend for my friend. Yeah, I I've been there before. I went there for a couple of weeks um for work about a year and a half ago, partied a lot, you know, and also my friend that I went with, she's not like a partier per se. So I was just there to holder purse, essentially. And she got to have a good time, and I'm I was happy. I was happy that I was able to be a part of her happiness.

SPEAKER_01

Good.

SPEAKER_00

So at the end of the day, I guess it was a little bit of a win.

SPEAKER_01

If you want to call it that.

SPEAKER_00

But we'll call it a win. It's fine.

Sundown Social, DJs, And Events

SPEAKER_01

A win for they and them. Um, so no. Um, but but anywho, um I okay, so um uh what do you have going on? What's going on this weekend? Or what do you I mean we're we're on a hump day. Do you have anything exciting going on, or you know, especially after that terrible experience?

SPEAKER_00

I did take the next couple days off of work. I wanted to have a nice long weekend. So I'm gonna rest, I'm gonna relax, I'm gonna recover, I'm going to go out, I'm gonna do some sightseeing. You know, sightseeing in your own city is nice, and I think I live here in that there's a lot going on politically that although is terrible and crazy, I I still want to go and see and like lay witness to it. I mean, I don't know if you've heard they're they're demolishing a certain part of the White House to rebuild, and that is although tragic, it is a moment in history. So I'm gonna go walk, you know, the seven, eight blocks down the road and lay eyes on this so that I can tell my future um doggy grandchildren that I that I witnessed um you know, an excavator taking down um a gay one taking down the uh the White House building.

SPEAKER_01

You know, Izzy um well, I mean, I think that sounds um, especially after the travesty of Boston, I think that that would be something good to kind of enjoy and relax and and experience. Um I I'm trying to think, what do I have going on? Well, okay, so you know every Sunday is my you know sundown social thing, right?

SPEAKER_00

Sundown social for the win.

SPEAKER_01

Right. So I went after we recorded uh two weeks ago, I went that Sunday. Uh amazing time. The different DJs were giving it, the energy was there, the weather was nice. Um, and then this past weekend, I um went to I had the long weekend with my friends that were in town, so I just kind of needed a rest day on a Sunday, so I didn't get to go. Um, but the weather was amazing. I I have serious. FOMO because I saw like the videos come out from it. Did you see? Have you caught any of the reels or anything on Instagram from it? I'm livid. I missed it. I'm so upset. I I completely missed it. And I feel like everyone should feel this way because they're really missing out when they don't get to go and experience it. So I will be there this Sunday.

SPEAKER_00

Good. Good. You owe it to them. You have to make up for it. I do. You gotta go, you gotta go twice as hard, twice as fast, twice as drunk, twice as rowdy to get half the respect you deserve.

SPEAKER_01

Are you talking to me or are you? I'm I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I might have been projecting here.

SPEAKER_01

I think you were slightly projecting, but but yeah, so I'm gonna be there. Um this theme is called Spellbound because it's October. Um, so it looks really interesting. Um, I saw I saw the list, and I think that out of all I think they're all kind of new. I may just recognize one of the names, so I'll have more details on that when we speak. Um and um they have some new exciting things, their new roster for DJs coming up this coming year that they're working on. So that's really exciting that we may chat about next week. Um, um, but this this Sunday, it's actually um they're celebrating one of the um founders, Isaac, his birthday. So um, well, today's his birthday at midnight, but um um they're saying they're basically gonna be celebrating it that Sunday. So really excited for that.

SPEAKER_00

Happy birthday, Isaac.

Hamilton For Thirty-Five Dollars

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, happy birthday, Isaac BB. Um, so really excited for that. Um, um, tonight is the first warehouse Wednesday with DJ Vitamin A, with DJ Um Dash Andrews, I believe it was his name, and then um some other very interesting one that um I haven't seen yet. I think I've heard her play um in the area, um, but um I haven't seen her myself, so I'm really excited to check her out. Um, the other um gentleman, um, Dash Andrews, he has spun for Sundown Social before. So I know he's gonna bring it. It's gonna be really exciting for that. So I'm gonna be there tonight. That's gonna be really fun. Um, and then oh, this Saturday. The Saturday, Bear House is back. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

You don't know how much I miss Bear House events.

SPEAKER_01

Girl, you're missing everything because they're doing all of it right now. So they actually um are getting this super hot DJ.

SPEAKER_00

I know I saw the pictures.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, from Rome. I drooled from Rome, he is. Um, his name is um DJ Enrico Maloney. He's so hot. Um, he has like abs for days, he's super sexy. I listen to some of his sounds, he's really, really cool. He plays hard, so I'm really excited for that.

SPEAKER_00

Um he plays hard.

SPEAKER_01

I love it when they play hard. I know. So so I'm really excited to um check them out. They're collabing with um Um Heat for their annual um Orange Black party. So um that's this Saturday. So everyone listening, um, be there, be square. It's on Saturday. Um the 20, what is Saturday? 23rd.

SPEAKER_00

25th 23rd. I don't know how to work a calendar.

SPEAKER_01

So in three days. So um, so so yeah, so the 25th, I believe. Um, so no maps and no calendars for you, right? How dare you! I know. So, I mean, we know we know our strengths, right? Um, but you know, what's really exciting is since you've been gone, um, Bear House, um, which is um our friends Jesse and uh DJ Rudy, they have expanded their connections with international DJs. So they're really exposing San Antonio to like amazing people that probably would never even come. You know what I mean? We've had major DJs. Um, we had um uh DJ Eric Um Ibiza, who's one of my favorites. He's from Guadalajara. Um back in the day, they brought Isis Um Um, who's amazing. I saw her in Chicago. Um, and um they have like I mean, they're just bringing the most, and it's the best, and they're doing it. So I'll be there this Saturday. So look for details um next week, everyone. And everyone here in San Antonio, you better fucking go. Tickets on sale now, um, or get them at the door. Um and it is a masquerade, so mask for mask. What?

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, you reminded me of tickets at the door, and well, finish your finish your DJ set because I gotta tell you about tickets at the door for something unrelated.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so I'll pause on this. This sounds so interesting. What?

Upcoming Parties And Local Scene

SPEAKER_00

Okay, it's semi-interesting, and I thought you would like it because I know when we first started this, it was me used to go seeing some like Broadway shows, you know, the shows, if you recall, that you tried to get me off the guest list for. Yes. Um, but anyways, so I forgot. One of the other highlights of Boston is we were walking down the streets of Boston and coming back after one of our long days of going in a million trinket shops, but whatever. And my friend Kimber, she's like, Hey, babe. And I was like, Yeah. She goes, Do you want to see Hamilton? I was like, Yeah, I've actually been really wanted to see it. And I look at her and she's like pointing up. And we're right, we're walking past uh a theater, the Citizens Theater. Yeah. And she goes, It's playing tonight. And she goes, Oh, I don't know if we can take it. I was like, No, I said, I've done this in New York before. I was like, I've done it as a single, like an individual person. But if you walk up right before the show starts, they will often sell you a really good seat for a little bit amount of money. Yeah. And so sure enough, we walked right into the box office, right into the box office. And I was like, What time's the show tonight? Mind you, it was 6 30 right now. And she goes, Oh, eight o'clock. And I said, Do you have tickets left? She goes, Yeah. And then she goes and she showed us two tickets, and they were like way in the back. And then, and I was like, Well, can we get like a government discount? We both work for the government. Not that I'm proud of that right now, but we both work for the government. Unless Pete, if you're listening, I love it. Anyways, so she's like, Yeah,$35 a piece. And I was like, Well, can you get us together? And she was like, They were like really far apart. And then she goes, Well, I have two seats in third row. And I was like, Well, how much are those? And she goes, They're$469. And I was like, Oh, that's way out of my budget. Like, no, thank you. And then she goes, Give me one second. Let me ask my manager. And I thought she was gonna get up and leave. She puts our little call box on mute, she leans over three inches, whispers to the guy next to her, and she goes, He said I can sell them to you for a discount. And I was thinking, girl, 469 minus 15% is still out of my budget. Right. And I was like, How much? And she goes,$35 a piece.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

AJ.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

We got third row, front center seats to Hamilton, the traveling cast, not some local production for$35. It is amazing. It was so good. The only thing that would have made it better is had I not fallen asleep for the entire second act. Anyways, it was so great to be there. I loved the show from what I saw. From what you remember.$35 for$469 seats.

SPEAKER_01

You know, thank you for your service. You know, that's what they were doing.

SPEAKER_00

So it was great. Um, so I guess that was uh a highlight of my bosseship.

SPEAKER_01

I kind of feel like that happen before or after your drag show in C.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, this happened after my LGHD TV gender blender commu confusion situation thing. So yeah. I didn't make that up. I saw that on TikTok somewhere.

SPEAKER_01

I hope so. So, okay, so I mean, but even after that amazing thing, aside from falling asleep, like that didn't make up for it totally did. Okay, it totally did.

SPEAKER_00

It was from the I and I'm exaggerating. I I was asleep, I was awake for about three quarters of the show. Um, it was and it was great, it was fantastic. The the the cast, that is that is a show like I mean Lynn Mambo Miranda. I've been a big fan, I've seen some of their other work. Um he he he really is a genius, he's gifted, and that show was absolutely phenomenal. So, listener, if you have not seen it, yes, it is available on Disney Plus to watch the recorded version. I would recommend not watching it because I I had not yet. And find the production of it and go and see it. It is it is absolutely fantastic.

SPEAKER_01

And enjoy your nap for the second half.

SPEAKER_00

Hush.

SPEAKER_01

So, okay, well, you know, oh my god, that reminded me. So I'm like going back and forth. It's a mess. You see, we can't we can't skip weeks at a time because everything's just like so I did have a Halloween party that I was supposed to go. Oh my god, tell me everything that I was supposed to go to. Never mind. So I guess this year is just like a non-Halloween year for me, which is very strange.

SPEAKER_00

It's the economy, darling. The land, the land. Think of the land.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know, but I have I have a I have a work um um costume party tomorrow um for the residents that we're having. We have like a chef coming. Um, I hired um uh DJ Brian Khadir to DJ for us. So um he will be here spinning, and then we're gonna have a chef cater and stuff like that. So so that's gonna be really exciting for that. So that's all really I have going on, upcoming, and then some um really good stories for next week.

SPEAKER_00

What you you what do you you don't you didn't recognize my the land the land comment? You didn't get it? I feel weird just screaming that out and you not following. It's all over social media. The what? Sylvia something or other producer Ren's uh producer Renee, look up the Sylvia girl who talks about the land. She was like some like defunct like psychic. Oh my god, she's all over social media right now.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, yes, with the with the land.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, no matter what she says, he's dead. He died, he's not your father. He died 10 years ago. The land, honey. Think of the land.

Shout-Outs, Remission News, And Sign-Off

SPEAKER_01

Look at the Pinkerton, something Pinkerton um in the home. Someone was there, and then they were like, the new house is 10 years old. The land.

SPEAKER_00

The land, the land, think of the land. The way I'm going around all day, every day just saying the land.

SPEAKER_01

So, I mean, you might have to explain because as a gay, I didn't really fully get it without the explanation. So everybody's getting you're just behind, but that's okay. We'll take it. We love you. You know, hello? Yeah, I'm gonna disconnect right now. Um, but okay, so on that note, since the wine's getting into your head or something like that. Um oh we have some live commentary. If did you want to read it? I think it's some I saw something come through since we're kind of live right now. What is it? Let me, I'll just open it real quick. It's uh oh, it said I didn't get it either.

SPEAKER_00

We'll let the people, we'll let the people, we'll let the people um figure out what what they want to say about that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So well, it was great catching up. And um, I know um we have a lot more things to discuss, and we'll probably have a sooner recording day than um we'll we'll need to figure that out and look at our schedules. Um, you did say that you were off over the next few days, so I'm gonna get all of my details and and experience over the weekend, and then we'll have to figure something out. Um I need to go get ready. The Spurs, I think it's their first game tonight. And so Butch. So I'm wearing a Spurs hat kind of. So I'm gonna go um over to River North Ice House and watch the game, and then I'm gonna go to Warehouse Wednesday. So um I'll have lots of details for you and the listeners coming up, and I hope to see everyone at Bear House and Heat's uh black and orange party um going forward, uh Warehouse Wednesdays, and of course, our total fave sundown social. So um, do you have any last words?

SPEAKER_00

I have one last thing I want to say, and I know we probably shouldn't, but I'm going to anyway. Christy Waters is in remission, and I read that, and it brought a tear of joy to my eye as someone who has dealt with a lot of suffering and loss within their families from situations like that. It made me so happy. So, this is for you, Christy. We love you. We are so happy for you, and I guess we'll dedicate this one to her.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. We love you so much, Chrissy Waters. And thank you so much for seeing that, Jay. Love that so much, and we love you so much, Chrissy.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Well, with that said, guys, we will see you all soon. You take care. Bye-bye now, JJ. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Where can where can they find you at? Oh, they could find me at um H Silver Fox. And you can find me at BJ All Day, and don't forget to follow Dose of Delusion podcast on Instagram, ladies and gentlemen. We'll see you all later. You guys have a great evening. Bye.
