The rule"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":202.14,"endTime":208.08,"body":"passed from French to British,"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":208.35,"endTime":212.1,"body":"and then the British settlers"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":208.35,"endTime":212.1,"body":"started to come and they more or"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":212.1,"endTime":217.29,"body":"less brought industrialization"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":212.1,"endTime":217.29,"body":"with them. In 1832, the"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":217.29,"endTime":221.19,"body":"Gooderham and worts distillery"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":217.29,"endTime":221.19,"body":"was founded here on the site,"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":221.46,"endTime":225.84,"body":"and at its peak, this distillery"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":221.46,"endTime":225.84,"body":"was the largest distillery in"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":225.84,"endTime":229.83,"body":"the entire British Empire. It"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":225.84,"endTime":229.83,"body":"pumped something like 2 million"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":229.83,"endTime":233.25,"body":"gallons of whiskey into the"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":229.83,"endTime":233.25,"body":"world. And back then the"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":233.25,"endTime":237.45,"body":"Portland's of Toronto, which was"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":233.25,"endTime":237.45,"body":"York was a growing industrial"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":237.45,"endTime":241.8,"body":"center and a shipping hub. But"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":237.45,"endTime":241.8,"body":"all of that changed with D"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":241.8,"endTime":246.9,"body":"industrialization. By the 1990s"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":241.8,"endTime":246.9,"body":"the distillery was shut down and"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":246.9,"endTime":251.49,"body":"the original buildings were left"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":246.9,"endTime":251.49,"body":"as is. And they were mainly used"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":251.49,"endTime":254.55,"body":"for film shoots because they"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":251.49,"endTime":254.55,"body":"were old and crumbling. And you"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":254.55,"endTime":258.0,"body":"know, it still looked like a"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":254.55,"endTime":258.0,"body":"like an, you know, an old"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":258.0,"endTime":263.79,"body":"Victorian village so or an old"},{"speaker":"JJ Hunt","startTime":258.0,"endTime":263.79,"body":"Victorian industrial site.
