Move the Needle
In this episode of YUP! I Got You, Tombo Baldwin tackles a subject most people avoid—and most men feel but don’t know what to do with: testosterone, purpose, and responsibility.
This is not a biology lesson and it’s not a culture-war rant. It’s a direct challenge.
Tombo explores how testosterone was never meant to be wasted on distraction, addiction, or passivity—but designed to be used. To protect. To provide. To confront injustice. To carry weight. To move the needle in places that actually matter.
Drawing from ancient texts, lived experience, faith beyond religion, and raw cultural observation, this episode asks hard questions:
- What happens when men don’t have a place to aim their strength?
- Why does unused aggression turn destructive?
- Where are you called to make a real difference instead of burning energy on empty outlets?
Whether you believe in God, the universe, or something in between, this episode invites you to pause and ask one powerful question:
What am I supposed to move the needle on?
This is a call to purpose, not shame.
A challenge to action, not conformity.
And a reminder that what’s been put in you was never meant to be squandered.
Real talk. Real life. Real responsibility.
And as always—Yup. I got you.
What you agree with gains permission to operate in your life.
(Transcribed by TurboScribe.ai. Go Unlimited to remove this message.) Feel the power! Oh my gosh, I love this testosterone cream rubbing in. New Ferrando, yes! Oh boy, man, the guy's on the t-track again. He just can't get enough of the testosterone. Hey, welcome to the Yup! Podcast. This is your podcast host, Tom Baldwin. And yep, no blah, blah, blah website here. Blah, blah, blah. Everybody's asking for money. Don't give me money. I mean, if you do, do it with intention and figure out a way to get it to me. I'm not going to make it easy for you. God has been good to me. Yeah, I work my beep off, but God has been good to me and gives me a good back, strong knees and a great sex. I mean, high testosterone levels supplemented with testosterone cream. So in a previous podcast, I talked about testosterone, how it can turn a couple nipples and a couple flaps of skin into like a miraculous multi-billion dollar business and marketing scheme that men are just like, I like those things. Why do I like them? It's just some flaps of skin and some like milk delivery system. Well, in our culture, I feel like testosterone has like the lack of use of testosterone really has set itself up for this like multi-billion dollar sex industry, porn industry, and really the stealing of the miraculous sacredness of the transformational covenant, making love connection that can happen because yes, testosterone is supposed to make nipples and vaginas turn into amazing things, which it does. But testosterone has another purpose and it's reason that it was given to the men, the one that have bigger muscle mass, more aggression is because we're supposed to be protectors. And probably the reason might be a short podcast because you're just like, I'm about ready to turn them off because it sounded kind of chauvinistic and a little aggressive. And I'm just a little too woke for this kind of male masculinity. And I feel like he's about ready to cross line. Well, here the fuck we go. Oh, he said the F word. I did because fuck means to strike. I'm going to fuck you. I'm going to strike you at the heart of your wokeness right now. So here we go. Get ready to be fucked. It's pretty fitting for testosterone to use that word. And yes, maybe I'm getting a little too familiar with it. It's a, it might be my new favorite word, but let's, here let's go. Men are not being the protectors and the providers and hanging around the house for the babies that they've created. So now there's this huge addiction of overgrown men sitting in the basement, scamming people and in pajamas, watching porn because they're not going and using the testosterone that was put in their veins. You can say by natural selection, but I pretty much debunked that. So go listen to that podcast by the divine creator. And you know, let's not get stuck on religion. You know, the, and I'm just going to side note. Okay. I said my opening statement when I want to talk about men, they're designed to be the protectors are given the testosterone to have aggression to confront and say wrong, injustice, wrong. Stop. Now stop. I said, stop. Okay. Well, we'll just go ahead and break your arm. Okay. There you go. You stopped. Nice. I like that. Um, and the provider where they're just like, oh man, I can carry that. I can carry twice as much. You give me another a hundred bucks. Yeah. My family, my, my kids started wrestling. I need another a hundred bucks. Yeah. Go ahead and load that up. I got that on the provider. Yeah. Yeah. I got the testosterone. Yeah, man, you got what it takes and you're fricking awesome. Oh, so Tom already forgot what his, oh, we're going to talk about the, I like to call them the ancient scriptures because Bible is like the Bible has been translated so many times and honestly, every translation as far as I can find, but maybe two, probably just one translation is a translation with bias by the translators that translate it says, well, we don't really like when it says this. So this word could actually mean this, but it's not quite in the context, but we're just going to go ahead and do this. Cause people are just going to read this and they can't read the old Greek and the Hebrew or the Aramaic. And so don't never really know. And so I don't like referring to the Bible because yeah, men have twisted it for their own purposes. Imagine that selfish narcissist. Man seemed like might've talked about that recently. Yeah. And yeah. Misplace use of, yeah. Their testosterone, their drive was used for greed and power and set of protection and provision. So what I do like is going to the originals and you can get word for words translations that are really fantastic that will actually give you the Hebrew word and the direct meaning and it's about as close as we can get and they're really great and so when I talk about the ancient scriptures I talk about those and I also talk about the historical writings that happen around the scriptures called the Apocrypha and they were things not directly when the books of the bible were put together they call it they were canonized so these are the books of the bible what most people don't know there are a lot of books out there that didn't make the cut for that and there were some standards for that but a lot of these other things have historical significance and really shed a light into the scriptures and so when I say about the ancient texts I'm talking about all of that and I'm not talking about men's translation and the message and the paraphrase where somebody's like trying to make it so you can understand it you all are as least as smart as me if not smarter and so you can do all this stuff that I'm doing but anyway those ancient texts when the Dead Seas were found and the oral tradition of the Jews because they passed the scriptures orally and then they written down were compared with those ancient texts that were found were almost exactly the same and there's a lot of stuff like that around the bible well the ancient texts that lend incredible credibility to that and so when I say I'm a man of faith and I talk about the ancient texts that's what I'm not talking about I'm not talking necessarily about your message bible and the mega church that you go to that has smoke and mirrors I'm talking about a bunch of people that get together and they experience the presence of God wherever they're at and they don't have to go someplace to do that because that is what I talk about when I talk about faith and so back to testosterone I believe that God created men with testosterone because he wanted us to follow in his footsteps and his image his example where he protects and he gives provision for us and I can only give examples from my life and from my life I reached the point that really solidified my faith in God when I realized I got to a point where no matter what effort I put in I could not bring a dime into our household and I could not make provision for our household and God was very clear to me that I'll take care of it from here on out and he has okay and I work but before I worked I just couldn't get any work or I couldn't get any money and now he provides that so it's very easy for me I have to say now to realize he's the provider and that I can do the same for the people around me realizing he provides for me and protects me that I can be extension of him and I can be the tool that he uses you know I don't necessarily want to be a tool of God and I don't I don't like this whole faith thing and it's this podcast is getting a really little religious it's not religious here you can have your opinion there's that control freak again I'm sorry if it sounded that way and you as a man you don't have to do that my way it just helps give me perspective and realizing that I'm protected and I'm provided for really enables me to go all out and carry that on and I believe that men were created for that purpose and that when we don't have that purpose we're a little lost and so our testosterone needs a place to go and I vividly remember my doctor when I went and he's just like your testosterone is a little low it's normal for getting older and I'm just like fuck you doctor you know and like any normal man would say yes I'm not getting well we are and you know the reality is it's like yes let's rage and let's say fuck to our doctor but we're also going to take his fucking advice right and we're going to be like yeah thank you for that cream doc but one of the things he said is as you do this you're going to want to make sure you have an outlet holy crap man first time I put that on I'm like hey babe yeah you know or in my case you know hour and a half later I just had to throw that in there testosterone is designed to be used and it needs an outlet and when it doesn't have an outlet that is revolved around protecting or providing that is the expenditure of energy the aggression you know and maybe it's even to bring honor to your family maybe you compete and you bring honor by winning awards you know your your family doesn't necessarily need protecting all the time it certainly does and you want your testosterone reserve when it does so you got what it takes and you can get after it and provision is a constant thing because kids eat and wives need clothes and stuff and so provision is a thing but maybe your job isn't too physical I just encourage you find out what your testosterone is for maybe you are that guy out there that you're picking up someone else's cause maybe you are you're going to be the guy that goes to the boys who don't have fathers and say man let's go fishing or let's go hunting or let's go do something and you use your testosterone for building good and you're not just sitting there it's like oh yeah I like these titties and I like this vagina and your testosterone was made for better things I see our culture just no purpose and the wasting and the futility of this precious substance that God has given men I would call it testosterone and game changer it is where you can't move the needle on something it gives you the edge and you may be set and you don't need protection and you don't need provision where are you gonna move the needle don't squander that you can find incredible purpose and an outlet for that testosterone because it gives you the edge that yeah people maybe that are older that aren't supplementing like I am don't have or they're squandering it wasting their time because they don't know you can move the needle and if you're wasting your time on stuff that's just it's an outlet and it's not productive and it's it's actually detrimental to your relationship I mean pornography and the sex industry it's just it's a blight and it's a it's a disease on men that is it's just becoming rampant it's stealing purpose it's stealing it is it is stealing really valuable service it's like an army that squandered instead of bringing freedom they turn into just a bunch of selfish mercenaries and assassins fulfilling their old need instead of the soldiers that freed the holocaust victims the freed those that were in bondage that prevent genocide even today those that are fighting the sex trafficking industry today making a difference men or women you got a man and you know he's got extra testosterone tell him he can make a difference I'm telling you you can make a difference I'm not telling you what to do I'm telling you you can't do and you have the power and it has been put in you not to squander with whatever well that's it one of my shorter podcasts so hey I love and appreciate you guys and uh yeah I just encourage you go make a difference especially you men you have something that'll move the needle I just ask you we'll just uh here let's not be done quite yet kind of getting into this woo-woo stuff let's just take a moment I really believe whether you believe in God or not and I've I've had a couple of these moments but you know our culture is becoming more open to spiritual things I'm not talking religion I'm talking spiritual things maybe you call me I don't even know if this term has connotations but Christian mystic you know I'm not into the cult but I'm into God is supernatural and he operates in spirit he doesn't operate necessarily in religion and the traditions of men but he operates on his own realm and he operates in moments and oftentimes I find in these podcasts especially the up contrast I reach moments and I kind of move aside because it's not meant to be a religious podcast and I'm not a religious person but there are moments of transformation and if that's not you you can just tune out but I believe whether you believe or not that God can speak in a moment and whether you believe it's God or the universe you can have an answer to a question like what is it for me what is it that I'm supposed to move the needle for let's just ask that what is it that you're supposed to move the needle for it's just in there there's something there I think I think you heard it whether you want to acknowledge it or not I think you heard it and the first one is the true one not the not necessarily the one you would pick the one you heard first yeah that's it that's good so my friends I got you I do I got you
