🎙️ The Way Back Method
What if the real you isn't something you have to become?
What if it's something you need to remember?
In this episode of YUP. I GOT YOU., Tombo Baldwin shares a deeply personal journey into what he calls The Way Back Method — a process of returning to the moments before fear, disappointment, and life's wounds covered up the authentic person inside.
Through stories of childhood joy, forgotten courage, and moments of rediscovering purpose, Tombo explores the idea that many of the qualities we search for today — peace, bravery, generosity, joy, and love — were placed inside us from the beginning.
The Way Back Method is about finding those moments:
The smile before the stress.
The courage before the fear.
The love before the hurt.
Sometimes healing isn't about becoming someone new.
Sometimes it's about reclaiming who you were always created to be.
Find the quiet.
Find gratitude.
Find the way back.
As always...

So welcome to this podcast today. I have learned so much in the last couple of days. It is amazing. I feel like I'm on quantum kingdom of Hebo turbo boost. And I know I intertangle those two terms because in my mind, they're the same things. And you'll see podcasters and influencers everywhere. They're out the same thing. And we all want our own little niche. And I learned so much from other podcasters and so much from other influencers, but I'm not trying to create my own niche. I am who I am. I'm a redneck. I've had a lot of experience in life. I've delivered myself from control, manipulation, gaslighting, all that ugly, dark psychology stuff. I've learned to be a nice person. I've learned to love and admire people. I've learned to connect with my authentic self. And I am here for you. And this podcast is about giving you the tools that will help you along your journey and manifest your best reality now. And that you will not even manifest, just live it, live it now and stop living the less than best reality now and moving into places of freedom and wholeness and peace. And so this podcast really is a follow-up to the one that I just did with Freeman is the name of the podcast. And it was a episode where I really was falling back into old ways, into predicting negative outcomes and agreeing with negative thoughts and going back to old habits of stress, anxiety, fear, and all those things. And in a moment as I was sleeping and in the prison podcast, I referenced that Yeshua, Hamashiah, others of you know, Jesus and my whole faith journey and my journey around Christianity, which I allude to more in that podcast. But there's so much that has become, oh, for lack of a better word, fluid in that other than Jesus. And he is solid. And the evidence around my faith in him is solid that he lived, he existed. And the words we have for him are true. And all the other stuff, I'm not sure about and it's okay. But as I was falling asleep and I talked about in the Freeman podcast and women, sorry, that I had a phenomenal experience and I have continued this experience and I'm turning it into a podcast and I'm calling this and this is a way of moving into the kingdom of heaven realm, into the best reality now realm, into the quantum realm, the way back method. And you're like, the way back method sounds like a time machine method. Well, for me, and I'll just give you examples. And this actually started happening a couple of days ago, but it reached probably it's pinnacle that night where after I fell asleep and had an incredible rest and an incredible counter with Jesus that I, that he showed me this method. And you're like, Jesus showed you something. Yes, I'm going to say that, that Jesus showed me something because we're talking quantum realm, kingdom of heaven realm. And so Jesus exists in that realm and he's put that realm there for us to access because within us are divine tools and antennas that have been buried, crushed, suffocated. I don't know whatever terminology you want to use, but by the inputs that we've had through media, through our raising, through the dysfunction, all the things that have influenced our lives to live our lives in quite a different way than the best reality now method. And as Jesus took me back that night when I was sleeping, well, he showed me a number of things. Some of them I can share with you. Some of them are a little personal that I'm just not ready to share. It's, and I don't know that they're appropriate for radio, but it was, and I'm trying to find the words to explain it, but reconnecting me with my authentic self. You know, that's been a big thing for me, my authentic self, that I'm living in coherence. I'm not living in duplicity. The things I think, the things I say are in alignment, in coherence with who I am and who I'm becoming. And one of the things that I've realized when I was a young person, and you've heard me reference this in previous podcasts, and it really started me on this journey. One of the comments that I remember when I was a kid that people always said, and it has not been true of my adulthood, is that I always smiled, that I had a smile on my face and nothing could take that smile off my face. And as I started this journey in this kingdom of heaven, quantum realm, and really moving into a state of wholeness and wellness and peace and fullness, was that phrase that I heard over and over again as a kid. Why are you always smiling? And I thought to myself when I was a kid and I heard that, and I was a kid obviously, my attention and stuff was around kid things like having fun and doing fun things and playing with my friends. And I was like, why not smile? And so as an adult in this journey that's occurred over probably intensely the last three years, but in part, probably the last 20 years of freeing myself from the dysfunction and the woundedness and the coping mechanisms that I developed as a young person and survived. And again, they weren't bad because they helped me survive, but they're not serving me to the wholeness and the fullness of the reality I want to live in now. Sorry, I've got a lot of excess saliva still getting used to these new dental appliances that I have. And occasionally there's just a lot of spit in there. And it's like, oh my gosh. And like, it was so funny when I did the podcast shift state, it probably sounds to a lot of you, like I said, shit state and it's shift state. Anyway, in this journey and Tom's having a little brain flatulence here, which happens occasionally, but we move through it fairly quickly. Awkward podcast moment, but really that statement, you're always smiling. And then my response, why wouldn't I? And as an adult, I can tell you all the reasons why I'm not smiling now, not in my best reality now. And it's still a struggle for me. I don't know that there's always a smile on my face, but that little phrase, why are you always smiling? And now why aren't you always smiling? And my kid response, why wouldn't I smile? Has really driven me. And that evening when I met with Yeshua and we went back and he showed me, and I'm just going to share with you the instances I can remember and my responses to it, to help you really grab a hold of this way back method. And one of my first memories is as a kid, I got this little cowboy toy and I think I have references in a previous podcast. I was pretty young. This is one of my youngest memories and I got this cowboy toy and how much pure joy I got from that. I don't remember any toy or anything since that I got so much joy from and playing with it. It was a cowboy that had like camping gear, a little plastic thing, cowboy plastic horse, little cowboy pots and pans, a little cowboy fire. And how I love that and just going back and connecting with that pure joy. And it wasn't that I wanted it so bad and maybe I did. I don't necessarily remember that now, but just how much pleasure and reconnecting with that pure joy, that pure satisfaction and that in that moment and in that, I wanted nothing else. I didn't want more accessories. I didn't want another toy. I was so satisfied. And in that way back moment, I took that and claimed it again. I'm like, that's mine as an adult. And whatever came in and whatever loss that, that is now mine. I added that to my way back moments. Now, another one, and this one's a little harder in that it has some hurt around it, is, and I think I was a little bit older, you know, that memory of the cowboy. I must have been four-ish, maybe. I was pre-kindergarten. So I'm saying four-ish. It's probably like eight years old. And it was my mom's birthday that we're preparing for. And my dad had made a habit, you know, that we would go shopping for her and he would use his money, you know, but we got to pick out a gift. And I remember going to the jewelry counter and looking, and I saw this little necklace with this beautiful butterfly, and I wanted it for my mom. I love my mom so much. And I asked dad, and I think back then, this is, you know, 70s, early 80s, what would have been eight years old, 75. Yeah, you do the math. You know how old I am. I am amazingly young for how old I am. And we got it, $12. You know, I don't know what that is today, but I think it's substantial. And I remember like wrapping it up, and I wrapped it myself because I have for many years, although I don't do it much anymore, wrap my own gifts. And I think I might get back to that. I'm not that busy that I can't wrap a gift and gave it to my mom. And I remember her looking at it. And even though she smiled, I knew because my mom has very expensive taste, loves expensive stuff, saw the disappointment in her face. And this is one of the memories that came before that night, but it also came that night with Yeshua. And he said, Tom, your heart is amazing and pure. And even though your mom was disappointed, your love to gift good things is amazing. Take it back. I took it back. It's mine now. The way back method with Yeshua is restoring the genuine and authentic Tom. Yeah, powerful, powerful, powerful. One of the other memories that came was, and I think me and my brother, we're screwing around in his room, which we often did. Not always for the best, but we were two boys and we played around and mom and dad were storing things in his closet. And a lot of the stuff stored in his closet were old pictures. And upon this one day, we got out a box of stuff and had old stuff in it, baby pictures from Mike and I, and we're looking through it. And in it, I find this newspaper, like this folded up newspaper. It's in really pristine shape. And on the front of it says, announcing the arrival of baby Baldwin. And I started reading it and, you know, it's probably a four or five page paper that folds out and it announces like the Stork bringing the arrival of Tom Baldwin. And this is his stats and what an amazing baby and how, you know, the community and the country at large is excited for his arrival and just all this amazing stuff. And I remember as a kid feeling amazing, just absolutely full and amazing and so cool. And, you know, and then Mike's looking, is there one for me? I'm like, no. And I, you know, that made me feel even more special. You know, the, the papers wrote about the arrival of me and so special. And I remember like my mom, I think at this point she started to work and I remember showing it to her and she's like, oh yeah, that was just something, a promotion from a baby company, you know, and it isn't real and it isn't a real paper and just, you know, that stuff in it, it's just, it isn't true. And I remember my heart just sinking. And in this moment with Yeshua, guess what he said, Tom, it is true. You are amazing. Restoring the authentic to me, the way back method, giving to me substance. Wow. You can, you can understand why these are powerful and I'm going to tell you, I'm going to share with you some more memories, but let's just take a break here. This isn't just a special moment with being Yeshua. Yes, it is. But this is a moment you can have. This is you access the divine, you find out the authentic part of you and who you are. And as these memories, as they're coming back, and these are childhood memories, these are untainted, these are the pure actions of, you know, and the gifting to my mom of my heart. And in reading that paper, identifying, because the true reality is that we all have a special purpose. And as I'm getting older, I'm realizing more of what my purpose is and what my voice and my life is made for. And that is true of you too. And in this way back moment, in these quiet moments where you ask, just say, Hey, I want to use that crazy thing that Tom said, the way back moment to Yeshua, you can address him, or you can just say to the kingdom of heaven or quantum realm, you just give me these moments and these memories and reclaim for yourself the authenticity that is there. So another moment, and I've shared this in the past, but was with my brother and my brother, two years younger than me. And when we were kids, probably more outgoing than me, we were both very shy. But if one of us was going to be more outgoing, it was him. He tended to make friends better. And he also tended to make enemies quicker also. And there was a neighborhood kid. You can say maybe he was a bully. I think looking back and in previous podcasts, I might amend a little bit of about my opinions of him as that looking back, he was an awkward kid and probably picked on. And so his temperament was probably guarded and suspicious and easily agitated. But my brother had an incident with him and he was coming after my brother with a hammer and my brother came yelling at me. And I went and without regard for myself, confronted the bully and subdued the bully for lack of a better word, punched him and did that. And in that moment, this is also reclaiming that my heart is to protect. And when it comes to crisis, I don't have fear and I don't have to. How do I say this? I don't have to have a crisis, but so much of my life has revolved around fear. And another memory that I'll just add to this. Well, there's a number of them that revolve around this fear thing. But I just have to let you know, and I've stated this in other podcasts, so much of my life has been driven around fear. And in my childhood, a lot of that was driven by my mom. Like when we went grocery shopping, you know, in the seventies, there were some incidences of tampering with some aspirin or something like that and being tainted with poison and people dying. And, you know, that took heart in my mom. And so when we went shopping, you know, she always took the third thing from the shelf. We had to pull two out, take the third thing back because chances of people tampering with the third one back were a lot less. And we get home, we had to inspect it all. And like when my brother and I went trick-or-treating, my mom had to inspect all the candies before we could eat it. And we couldn't get candy from certain houses. And like when I went to bed, I would hear my mom like rattle every doorknob in the house like six times, look under my bed like three times. And so growing up was really instilled in me fear. And even being around my mom, oh, Tom, don't do that. Or don't touch this. You know, we don't know where that could be and all this stuff. And so instilled in me is in fear. But in that instance, and in these way back methods, way back method, these memories that have come up made me realize that the core and the heart of Tom O'Baldwin is courage and bravery and no regard for self. That I wasn't worried about how if I get hit, wasn't worried about injury, I acted. And so three other instances, and all the three revolve around fire. We lived in a trailer court and we lived in a trailer and was baking some goods for a big banquet we were having at a church. We called it the Taste of Christmas. And it was all kinds of little gourmet desserts. And in a previous part of my life, I was a baker extraordinaire, pretty good actually, not being conceited, good baker. And so we're baking a lot of things in our little trailer and preparing them. And we had this gas oven and it wasn't level. I was baking little cheesecake tarts and they were, you know, they were baking crooked. You can't have crooked cheesecake tarts, right? And so I remember yanking the oven out and, you know, gas ovens have a flex cord behind them. Those of you that have ever pulled one out so you can pull it out and do maintenance and whatever you need to. And I yanked on it and bam, flames start shooting out of the back of the oven. Long story short, started catching the cabinets on fire. And Adrian's like yelling all the kids to get out of the house and they're running out of the mobile home. And Adrian's yelling at me, get out of the house. And in a moment I was like, no, it's my job to save this house. And so I ran, grabbed the crescent wrench, went outside, turned the gas valve, saved the house. Why did I do it? I don't know. I wasn't afraid. I just did it. Fast forward, this house that we're currently in, full house, 2,500 square feet, nice urban suburban neighborhood here that we live in. And we had a fire start in our garage, was suspect that it was a firework that had flown into the garage on, I think it was the 5th or 6th of July and ignited some flammables in there. Not anything that we had lit, but combusted. And same thing, fire in the garage and everybody's yelling, get out of the house. And I'm in there with a hose and fire extinguisher doing the fire before the firemen get there. And the firemen get there, you should have left the house. And I'm like, why let it burn? No regard. This is what you do. No fear. I mean, folks, we're talking over a hundred thousand dollars that damaged the house and had I and my sons and my neighbors not fought that, but there was no fear. Last story, not a fire in my house, but a fire in a neighbor's house, which the house ended up burning to the ground. And I have to say, I don't know this logic behind fire departments, but this one made me really glad that I fought for the fire at my house before they showed up and, you know, they show up and say, you shouldn't have done that. Well, bullshit. I'm glad I did because this house, I watched them chase the fire around the house with their hoses until the whole house burned down. Anyway, the owner of this house was a friend of my kids. They had done lawn work for him. His name was Jeff. And we get over there, Porter, one of my sons, comes yelling, dad, dad, there's a fire at Jeff's house. So we run a block and a half down to the fire and it's burning good and realized pretty quickly that we couldn't do anything. And so went over to Jeff and he's like, there's artwork and precious stuff inside. And so I'm running in the house, pulling things out of the house that he wants out of the house as the house is filled with smoke and my wife and my kids yelling at me to come out something inside me. Sorry, I'm a little emotional because live my so much of my life in fear. And in a way back moment, I realized I'm full of courage and bravery. That's part of who Dumbo is. I got to tell you this way back moment, it restores the divine that was meant to be in you. Those traits, those wonderful characteristics, those qualities, those giftings. You go back before it's been tainted with corruption of woundedness, dysfunction, these narratives that train us to be a certain way. The way back method is a divine method of restoring back to you, the authentic you. And you can do this just by asking and you got to quiet your heart. We go back to that thing. You've got to quiet your heart. You've got to be at peace, but the answers come because there is this field. There is this realm, this kingdom of heaven realm that exists and the answers are there, but they cannot be heard over the noise of stress, anxiety, the thinking and predicting of negative outcomes. These answers exist in gratitude, peace, blessing, words of affirmation, thoughts of loveliness, viewing loveliness, taking in the sunset, taking in the sunrise. Then these answers are available to you. The way back method is through the door of peace, gratitude, and loveliness. You can use this, but it is inaccessible to you if you refuse to change. My friends, this one's good. I want to hear the stories. I want you to share in your reviews of this podcast, your way back moment. I want you to send them to me because this is real. These are divine things that are happening. This is the divine in you coming about. The divine in you is so much more than any transhumanistic augmentation can ever do. You are capable of so much more. Hey, and as always, Tom Baldwin, Tombo Baldwin, I got you. I do. I got you.
