Former producer of Turner Sports (TNT), Tim Kiely joined me on the show this week! A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, TK grew up a huge Steelers fan. His father worked for the Steelers, which allowed TK to be a ball boy for the team at a young age. A dedicated and smart young man, TK battled through a tough tragedy, losing his mother at a young age, and becoming ill with Bipolar disorder. This led to TK wanting to leave Pittsburgh as soon as possible as a teenager.

As a high school senior, he had to choose between Notre Dame, and Columbia University. His sister gave him a true piece of advice, leading him to New York  to attend Columbia. TK says it was one of the best decisions he could have made. New York was life changing for him-the everyday life in the city was a story in its own.

With no immediate plans, TK enjoyed college and just wanted to earn a degree, and he wasn’t scared to not have a plan. Moving back to Pittsburgh after college, he started an entry level job as a production assistant. He worked a lot behind the scenes and was never afraid to take any opportunity that was given to him. After this, an opportunity at ESPN was given, and he spent four years there. A big break came in 1995 when the producer position became available at Turner Sports.

TK connected with a young journalist named Earnie Johnson, a relationship that didn’t start off perfectly.  TK was dedicated to getting Earnie to stop reading everything off a teleprompter, and just be him. This didn’t sit well with Earnie, and the story of it all going down afterwards is one to remember. 32:10

The addition of Kenny, Chuck, and Shaq all came at different times, but from the moment each joined the show, it was evident the true personalities of the four could bring pure greatness to television. Sharing some of his favorite moments of the crew 39:19, you’re bound to have a great laugh.

TK gave me some of the best advice I’ve ever heard, and it could make your light bulb pop, 52:05 Give it a listen please. Leaving me, TK told me he wants to be remembered as a funny person, but I’ll let you hear it in his words 1:02:25. One of my favorite episodes I've ever done, I couldn’t have had a better time doing this with TK. Please sit back, and learn, laugh, and enjoy every moment of this episode. I'm so grateful to be able to do what I do. God bless you all!
