Episode 11 is here, and CBS Sports writer and producer Sammy Smith joined me this week! Growing up in the south, Smith is very family oriented and discussed the importance of his family on his life and the abilities they gave him in the work force at a young age.

Devoted through a great musical touch and a passion for story telling, Smith discussed the love he has for these things and how he aims all of his work as being art. Attending the University of Georgia, Smith gave a great analysis about the conclusion of committing to Georgia and how the persuasion of a friend helped make his decision.

Attending Georgia, Smith gained valuable insight as a student, but also developing a strong worth ethic that would later help him be successful. During college, Smith gained a internship with CBS Sports, that would later create a job opportunity right after college.

Transitioning to New York City from the south, was not easy for Smith, but nonetheless has been a great run nearing a decade now for him at CBS Sports. As a writer and producer for NFL Today, and a plethora of other shows, Smith has continued to develop his skills and resume working on many projects.

This is what Smith left me with, "Your path is never going to be linear,  and comparison is the thief of joy. Sometimes people have very specific plans for there life, and get disappointed when things don't go according to plan, and that's ok. But you're not behind, you're running your race at your own pace, and if you compare yourself to others race, you'll never be happy"
