Netanyahu: "Jesus No Advantage Over Genghis Khan" – Blasphemy or Biblical Truth?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
On This episode of The Right Side: Doug Billings explains Benjamin Netanyahu's March 19, 2026 speech quote—"Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan"—has many Christians calling it blasphemous. But context changes everything.
In this episode (audio from my 6:30 video), Doug breaks it down: Netanyahu quotes historian Will Durant from The Lessons of History on realpolitik—in worldly history, morality alone doesn't defeat evil; nations need strength too (against Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran). This is not an attack on Jesus' divinity, power, or lordship—He is eternal King!
Doug covers the full clip, Durant's point, Bible parallels (Psalm 73, John 18:36, Matthew 10:16), and why outrage without context divides believers. Jesus Christ is Lord—His kingdom triumphs forever.

The Right Side with Doug Billings. Hi, everybody. Welcome to the set of my show The Right Side. A short moment here with you tonight. If you've been on X, holy moly, a complete meltdown because of the clip that Benjamin Netanyahu put out. He's alive, by the way. All of you kooks can stand down about that. But he was quoting something about Jesus Christ in Genghis Khan. A lot of good Christian folks out here are upset and they're calling it blasphemous, saying it diminishes Jesus' divinity or makes him look weak in some way. And I get why the video sounds jarring at first. I get it. But this is where context and the ability to engage with intellectual maturity becomes helpful. And thankfully, you all become members of the most intellectually mature audience in all of Radioland when you watch my program. Follow me over on YouTube at the right side Doug Billings, by the way. When I heard it out of context, I mean, for God's sakes, I thought the whole thing was AI when I first saw it, because I knew that Netanyahu wouldn't insult Jesus. I just know it. So let's look at the actual clip, ladies and gentlemen, and what he was really saying. I'm going to play the relevant part of the clip right now so we can all hear it straight from the source. Here you go.
SPEAKER_00In this world, it's not enough to be moral. It's not enough to be just. If you look at the world as it is today, you have to be blind not to see that the democracies led by the United States have to reassert their will to defend themselves.
SPEAKER_01Okay, ladies and gentlemen, thanks for watching that with me. So Netanyahu is quoting historian Will Durant from his book, The Lessons of History. So Durant's point here, and Netanyahu is repeating it, is a sober observation about worldly history and about raw power. It's the the the universe doesn't automatically reward goodness or morality with victory on Earth. That's Durant's point. If if you're strong, ruthless, and powerful enough, evil can overcome good in the short term. History is full of examples about this. Empires rising through brutality, the innocent suffering, moral people getting crushed without strength to defend themselves. Netanyahu even says that it's unfortunately and unhappily, okay, he uses those words. So context, ladies and gentlemen, he's not celebrating this. He's warning about it. His whole point is real politics. Nations that want to survive evil aggressors like Hamas, Hezbollah, or Iran right now can't rely on being just moral or just. They've got to be strong also, militarily, strategically, and so forth, to protect the innocent and to defeat evil in this fallen world. This is not blasphemy, folks. Not even close. It's not slander against Jesus. Netanyahu is not saying Jesus lacks divinity, Jesus has no ultimate power, Jesus is weak eternally or spiritually. He's not saying about that. He's talking about observable history, the same kind of harsh reality that the Bible itself tells us about. I mean, think about the crucifixion. In that moment, it looked like evil had won, didn't it? The wicked often prosper temporarily in this world. Psalm 73 talks about this exact struggle. Go look it up. Jesus himself said that my kingdom is not of this world from John 18, 36. Yet we know the end. Jesus is Lord, King of kings, and ever so Christian thinkers like Augustine and Aquinas, they've long taught that good nations can and sometimes must use force justly to resist evil. That's why Pope Leo got this wrong. The actions in Iran by the United States are just, they meet the just war criteria. Trust me. Pope Leo, I'm available to be your advisor. That's exactly what Netanyahu, by the way, is getting at. Be wise as serpents, just like it says in Matthew 10, 16, while we stay innocent as doves at the same time. So, my brothers, my sisters, calling this blasphemous, eh, respectfully, no, it's not. No intent to revile God here. There's no denial of Christ's divinity, no mockery. Look, I know that Netanyahu's a Jew, obviously, and I know his feelings about the divinity of Christ, but he's not mocking Christ's divinity in this statement. This is a history lesson, and it's got a pragmatic warning. Context matters, ladies and gentlemen. This is why we've got to take the time to step outside of the noise on social media and look at these things. Outrage without context leads to division when we're all on the same team here fighting real evil. Jesus Christ is Lord. Full stop. His power is ultimate, it's eternal, and it's unstoppable. And in the end, good wins because he wins. So if this helped clarify things, like it, share it, follow me, drop a comment. Let's seek this truth and context together, ladies and gentlemen. God bless you. Jesus is king. Believe it for the Republic. Cheers. The right side with Doug Billings.
