Show Notes

In this episode of the BERA Podcast Professor Tanya Ovenden-Hope, BERA SIG Convenor for Educational Effectiveness and Improvement and BERA Council Member, discusses the response to COVID-19 by the Chartered College of Teaching (CCT) with Professor Dame Alison Peacock (CEO), Cat Scutt (Director of Education and Research) and Professor Sam Twiselton OBE (Vice President External).

The Chartered College of Teaching (CCT) is the professional body for teachers. As an organisation they are dedicated to bridging the gap between practice and research. COVID-19 presented, and continues to present, a range of challenges to schools, their leaders and teachers. This conversation explores the responses of the CCT to the pandemic, including their report reviewing evidence ‘Education in times of crisis; the potential implications of school closure and global approaches to education’ (May 2020) and the #FutureOfTeaching campaign (July 2020) that will bring together teachers from around the world to look at changes needed for the profession in post-C-19 landscape.
