Michael Naylor: Sport, Mind-Movies and the Healing Journey – Act 1
Oct 05, 2021 Episode 58

A quiet, shy and sensitive kid, Michael Naylor used sports to navigate the world of his younger days, finding his way via baseball to a full-ride scholarship at Oregon State University.  While competitive, Michael shares how being a “tenderhearted athlete” contributed to his team performance.

He discusses how being the default “family psychologist” as a young kid got old quickly, and later, how the outside pressures of identifying as an athlete led to budding awareness and inner exploration.

Michael walks us through his experience of releasing his baseball identity and crossing the wilderness of deep self-examination through reading, counselling, and a rich variety of inner work.

Michael’s commitment to learning and healing is inspiring – and that’s all before he even touches on recovery…
