Mary almost burns down the barn and that’s the least dramatic part of this episode. Ma redeems herself in Amye’s eyes when she pulls animals out of the burning barn in her nightgown. Jennie can no longer defend Mary’s nerdiness when she falls in love with a dictionary and there is a bit of live theater that almost makes up for Broadway being closed.
