Time Capsule: The Challenger Disaster Part 2
Nov 26, 2020 Season 1 Episode 34
Jennie + Amye

This pod covers episodes 3-4 of the 4 part series.

We continue our discussion of the Challenger Disaster of 1986 through the Netflix series, Challenger: The Final Flight (2020). We discover the astronauts’ beach house, where we are certain slick-talking Deke Slayton was up to his eyeballs in women. We are surprised to learn this whole disaster may be the fault of The New England Patriots, Amye gets to talk about poetry again, and we meet our new hero, Nobel-Prize winning physicist Richard Fenyman who trolls NASA with his own press conference and we are here for it.  Finally, we continue to share our own memories of that day and reflect on what the loss of the space shuttle Challenger might have meant to our generation.
