Speaker 2So I am on a walk right now . Just so you guys know , I decided to go back to something that I did last summer . This is actually my first day back from all the travels that I have done starting at the end of May . I'm done with traveling for at least for a good little while . Praise God , so excited to be able to be done with traveling so I can kind of get back into a routine . It's just difficult to be in a routine when you travel because you just as difficult . Anyway , I'm back . So I'm doing 75 hard , a little bit of a modified version . I did it last year , uh , but I want to just get back to just doing five things every day and making sure I'm just found faithful . And speaking of faithful , that's what I want to talk about today . That's what I want to talk about today . So a lot Guys , you guys have been with me for several years and I've had the verses , the verse of Scripture , at my intro of Proverbs 22 , verse 29 .
Speaker 2It says Do you see a man skillful in his work , he will stand before kings . He will not stand before obscure men . I don't think I've ever shared with you guys how that little intro came to be . So I felt led to start a podcast many years ago 12 years , well , more than 12 years ago to be exact 12 years , well , more than 12 years ago to be exact and I had already started doing some things on YouTube posting videos and me talking on YouTube before the podcast and I just never really could get my arms wrapped around this whole entire thing of like posting stuff online and a video of me .
Speaker 2So I decided I took a break from it and then started listening to some more podcasts of different ministers and also different guys that were talking about success and so forth , and again Holy Spirit started pulling on me again that I needed to do something . The Lord had something to say through me . So I began that process . So I jumped into this group , chat with a whole bunch of podcasters that they were actually trying to start their own podcast and as I was in this group chat with them , one of the gentlemen who does a goodness , I actually did have him on my podcast . His name is Tim Page . I have not talked to Tim in a long time . Anyway , I wonder how Tim's doing . By the way , if I ever call you up and I haven't talked a little while I'm just curious , that's all just curious , how you're doing . So anyway , tim puts out there on the message board , says hey , anybody that's looking to wanting to do an intro , professionally done intro for your podcast , reach out to me and we'll get something set up .
Speaker 2I'm like no questions asked here . I know that you'll do good work and a whole lot better than what I'll do , because I'm not my brain doesn't . I'm creative , but I'm not creative in that sense , if you know what I mean . Anyway , tim and I get on the phone , we talk for about you know , 20 , 30 minutes . Tim has a good idea of kind of what I'm looking for and literally , guys in one he sends over to me . Probably within a couple of days he sends over to me the intro that you hear in one take . I mean , when I heard it and he did it , I was like that's it and it's been that way ever since . I was like that's it and it's been that way ever since .
Speaker 2And he's the one that actually introduced that verse to me . I probably had read it before , but I never sat there and really meditated on that verse ever before . And over the last couple days I've really been thinking and meditating on this idea of faithfulness over
success , faithfulness over success . God wants us to be faithful over successful . And again , I'll tell you kind of the origin story of how this kind of came up . So , thumbing through Instagram and a reel pops up with my pastor , jensen Franklin , and Jensen , he just says this . It's a 30-second little bite , I mean it might not have been 30 seconds .
Speaker 2He says he realized that in the Bible the word success is only really mentioned one time . One time , one time where the word faithful is mentioned . Just in the Old Testament alone . Just in the Old Testament alone it's mentioned 18 times . It's likely to kind of sink in Success only mentioned one time good morning , but in the Word , 18 different times , just in the Old Testament alone , faithful is used . I sat there and just said , wow , good morning . That's amazing . And then he went on to say this right here , which again kind of caught my attention even more . He said you know Jesus himself . Good morning Jesus himself . Morning Jesus himself .
Speaker 2When he's telling the story of the servants that he , he tells a parable about the servants , you know that go and he gives one ten talents and another five talents , another one talent according to their abilities . And what does he say to them when he comes back , the two that actually , where they say I made a prophet , lord , for you . He says to them well done thou , good and faithful servant , ha ha . He doesn't say well done thou , good and successful servant , mm-mm , faithful . He calls them faithful , faithful . And then you can go and jump over to Luke , chapter 19 .
Speaker 2This parable of talents is actually found in Matthew 22 . But then you go and find in Luke , just find in Luke 19 , the parable of the minas . Luke 19 , the parable of the minas and that story is pretty much the same thing Calls ten servants to himself . The parable goes and what's interesting about that one is that actually it's not according to their ability . He gives each one the same equal amount versus the one with the parable of the talents . He gives different amounts With the mina , which is some people say is a day's wage or not a day's wage but an annual wage . Anyway , he gives them one mina and he gives it to them equally . Well , the king comes back from actually receiving his kingdom and the first servant comes up and says hey , your mina that you gave me made more minas , and what's interesting about that is in that one .
Speaker 2It's not a statement of you . Know , I made more minas . No , the mina actually made more minas . Money made more money , which is fascinating . And what does the king say , which is fascinating ? And what does the king say Again ? The king says , hey , well done thou , good and faithful servant . I will put you over 10 cities .
Speaker 2One of the things that I'm realizing how God operates , guys , is the reward for faithfulness is more responsibility . How about that ? It's more responsibility . Not just a nice little bonus check Morning , not a bonus check , not a . I mean , even if you did get a bonus check , it's actually that's more responsibility . That's been placed on you . Like , what are you going to do with that ?
Speaker 2But this king gave him ten more cities . Second one he said the same thing Well done morning . Well done that good and faithful servant . Faithful , again , not successful . Faithful Because of what you've done . I will put you over five cities .
Speaker 2And again , the mina made more minas . The servant invested it and it made more minas Interesting . And it made more minas Interesting . But it's all about faithfulness . It's where it all revolves around . It's faithful . It has nothing to do with trying to be successful .
Speaker 2I mean , I know that even my own podcast talks about keen success . Well , if I could actually change it Morning . I didn't mean to startle that dog . Anyway , what's interesting is that you know we hear the word success plastered all over the place . At least that's how I grew up , you know , and I do believe God wants you to be successful . He wouldn't have mentioned it in the place . At least that's how I grew up , you know . I do believe God wants you to be successful . He wouldn't have mentioned it in the Bible if he didn't want you to be successful , I mean . The other good thing about it is he tells you actually how to be successful in real easy terms . He says Joshua 1 , verse 8 , where it's really the only place it says in the Word about success is all you got to do is just meditate on the word day and night . That's it . Never let your eyes , uh , depart from it .

I believe the key is to to success is just faithful , just consistent , day in , day out . Good morning , not trying to be , not trying to outwork faithfulness , but just consistent , consistent and faithful . Show up . You know , I mean this morning , tyler Tyler Jr . I've kind of gotten in the habit now where I don't get my kids up anymore for school . I just don't . There was a big debate in my house for a long time . It was because my wife was like we need to get them up , they're going to be late for school .
Speaker 2At some point , point we've got to cut the umbilical cord . They can't be relying on us a whole entire time . What's gonna happen when they go up to college ? Are you gonna be the one to go to their dormitory and wake them up ? Well , no , okay , well , I gotta learn to get up on their own . So Tyler .
Speaker 2Tyler's been faithful about getting up early in the morning because he has football practice Morning . It's not really football practice , I would say , it's a . He's got football conditioning that's a better way to look at it Football conditioning . And since he has this football conditioning conditioning , he has to be up and going and I haven't one time not one time gone to his room and got him up . He's the one that's taking responsibility to get up himself . And guess what ? He's been found faithful , faithful . He's shown up , he showed up .
Speaker 2I think that's one of the first keys to actually faithfulness is just showing up , hands down , just show up . They don't . Because here's the thing If you just show up , you have a chance that something good is going to happen . I mean , just show up in the morning or in the evening , whichever one you feel best about , but just show up and get in the Word Just show up , there's something good . At least there's a chance that something good is going to happen with that , right ? I mean , if I just show up to the gym , if I just show up to the gym and I've got my gym clothes on and I get inside that door , I know I've shown up and I know I'm probably going to do something in the gym , I mean it's just it kind of just kind of flows Right , just showing up . Hey , here's another thing about faithfulness Is that you're prepared , that you've actually taken the time to think through what you're showing up for , what you're showing up for . Now I'll tell you that I would rather someone show up period , not prepared , okay , but just show up because at least you're in the conversation , at least you're in the building , at least you're in the building , at least you're in part of what's taking place . But if you want to take it a step further , you'll show up prepared .
Speaker 2That's a key thing right there Showing up prepared , faithful , just faithful . It says in Proverbs 28 , verse 20, . It says that a faithful man will abound with blessings . Faithful man will abound with blessings . Faithful man will abound with blessings . I think this is the key thing , guys , is just showing up . It's not complicated , just showing up . I mean , as a dad , just show up for your kids , just show up .
Just at least be there , right For your own health . Show up to the gym . Just show up , that's all Good morning , you know , if you're in sales , show up , curious . Show up , curious . Show up , curious about your people that you're actually reaching out to , about your sales thing , whatever your doodad that you offer , just show up , that's all . Just show up , show up , all . Just show up , show up and be curious about it , right ?
