Proverbs chapter 20 to verse 29 says you keep the mind before you're worth, you will store in before tomorrow. You will not storm before obscure men. Stop apologizing and start winning. Welcome to the success at building help to put your walk with a marketplace christian to the next level. With your host, Christian entrepreneur Tyler McCarthy.
SPEAKER_01What's going on, everybody? How y'all doing? Yours truly, Tyler McCart. Coming at you. Yep, it's
me. We're gonna jump into this, but I wanted to actually set maybe a little bit of just get something off my chest if I could before we get going. So I know that I've actually started doing this video side of my podcast. I've had, you know, for everybody that's a viewer, all right, on YouTube, you know, I've done like 430 plus uh audio podcasts from interviews to uh to me talking, and I really found a good rhythm, a good voice with what I was doing. Well, now all of a sudden I've got this camera actually in my face, and I'm recording on this camera, and you know, I feel like it's kind of changed a little bit of how I talk, and I apologize for that, and I want to kind of go back to my authentic self. And so today I'm going to do my very best. I'm gonna just just roll. I've got some notes right here that I that I've got down that I want to kind of go over. Um, but I want to just again seem like that, because like how I started out, a lot of times with my episodes, I would be in my truck. And in my truck, I would just sit there and talk uh and record myself talking like if you were actually sitting in the passenger seat to my right, uh, and we were just having a good conversation on a long car ride. Or where the origination of all this actually kind of came into being was actually me sitting down with this gentleman named Daniel, and Daniel was sitting there and asked me all these questions about how to apply his faith, how to actually overcome situations. And it was just something that me sitting across the table with Daniel, and Daniel was already very successful. He was already had a great corporate job, and he was right around my age, had some uh little kids as well. But Daniel basically, you know, I was kind of awestruck that he would even reach out to me and ask me, Tyler, how come how can you talk like this? You're just a little different. And I said, Well, it's just, you know, my spirit that I believe, and my spirit man that have, and you know, it's who I am. And he was he was attracted to that. He wanted to know what it is that I had that he didn't have. And interesting enough, we just sat across at a coffee table. And that's what I want to do with you to hear. I don't want to seem like that um uh that this is some kind of planned, you know, perfected talk, because that's not really how I do things anyway. I I my style of speaking is more story-based than trying to teach something. I can teach, but I would rather teach through illustrations and stories and examples from my own life or something that I might have learned, say, in a lot of my reading that I do. And this is just kind of me, again, being transparent with you about what it is and who it is that's talking to you across the table from you, okay? Because I appreciate you actually coming in and sitting down with me and actually giving me any time viewing-wise. Now, if you're listening to this, you know, I get that. I mean, that's actually, in my opinion, the way I normally consume, you know, content anyway, is you know, I've got the preferred or premium thing on uh on my YouTube channel, and guess what? I I can just sit there and play it, and the phone doesn't, I don't have to see it, and I can just listen to the the message. Well, that's the reason why podcasting kind of came into being and why I enjoyed it. Well, that's kind of where I'm at still today. So let's just kind of talk, let's have a good conversation. If you are seeing me, great. If you're just listening to me, that's even better. Either way.
So I just got done reading an article. Um and it really kind of sparked in me something that I knew that I wanted to bring back and resurrect and remember more of, if I can say it that way, because it's a topic I've talked about on my podcast for goodness, a long time, and that's faith. But how do you apply your faith? How do you actually what I call get to the highest form of faith? And what does that look like? And so this was a good refresher for me. Um, I want to read this quote to kind of set this up a little bit of why I wanted to remember this more. Right here, it says, everything that needs to be said has already been said. But since no one was listening, everything must be said again. And I don't remember how the guy's name, uh, I think it was Andre Greit. I wrote it down, I was on a Zoom call, and the the guy quoted it and gave us, but I forgot how to write the guy's name down. But anyway, I loved, I loved the quote because everything's already been said. It's just that we need to slow down enough and actually remember what's been said and actually listen to it and actually apply it. And here I am doing that because I need to hear this myself. So, faith. What is the good fight of faith? Why should we be overcoming and kicking button, taking names, and not allowing our circumstances or what the world throws at us or the enemy throws at us to kick us and beat us down? I can't stand that. That's one of the whole reasons that I have this is because we are supposed to be overcomers. We're supposed to be victorious, we're supposed to actually be the ones kicky button taking names from a spiritual standpoint. But so much of the time, that's not the case. We're just never taught how to actually apply this thing, the good fight of faith. And if it's a good fight, that means that you should win. Right? I mean, that that should be a key indicator for you, okay? Now, so let's jump into this, okay?
So our faith, our faith needs to be something that we don't necessarily understand. Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna go somewhere with this, okay. It says actually in 2 Corinthians uh 4, verse 13, it says, we having the spirit of faith. Okay, it obviously we are not we have not been given the spirit of fear, and I want to caution you from trying to have the spirit of understanding. I feel like the spirit of understanding is going to trip you up in your good fight of faith or having the fight, uh the spirit of faith to be able to overcome whatever thing you might need to overcome. Now, how does faith work first? Let me just give that definition. Faith actually works with your belief in action, okay. You have a certain thing that you've believed for. Say it might be you want to bench press 220 pounds, okay? And right now, you can't do that. Well, you have this vision of what you want out there, okay, of 220 pounds. You're on the bench press and you push it up, right? That's your vision. Well, the faith is this belief that you can do that, and the faith is the action. The faith is actually seeing it come to pass. The faith is the actual manifestation or or the actual evidence that you actually really believe what you see is going to happen. Okay. Now, just like just like a farmer, just like a farmer plants a certain crop, he has corn seed, but on the package, on the package right here, it has a picture of a harvest of corn. Well, he goes out to his field and plants that harvest or that, excuse me, that seed out there, and he believes by planting that, tilling the ground, keeping it watered, he believes by faith that he's going to get that result. That's how faith is. Your salvation operates the same way. Somebody told you, planted in your heart, that guess what? Jesus needs to be your Lord and Savior. You believe that in your heart, and you know what? You have faith that guess what? One day you're going to be in heaven. You're going to walk with Jesus. You're going to be on the streets of gold. You're going to see, you know, all your relatives that have been that have gone on before you, right? That's that's that whole entire faith. But the thing is, is that we can apply our faith, not just for those big things of like our salvation, but what about for a client? What about for business growth? What about for, you know, maybe say you've got some kind of illness and you need to believe that God's going
to heal you because God says that in his word. Well, there are certain things you've got to do, okay? One of those is you cannot try to figure it out. Trying to get into understanding of how it's going to work or understand how it works is not the right thing to do. The Bible is very clear about that. It says in Proverbs 3 and verse 5, it says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not upon your own understanding. You're not supposed to try to figure it out. Majority of the time, and I get this from one of the books that I've read, which is uh The Magic Thinking Big, what happens is people get so fixated on the how. How is this going to work? How is it going to happen? Right? They get so fixated on that that they stall out because it doesn't start to happen. But in that book, I just remember this in chapter one. If you ever want to read the read that book, it's a fantastic book, by the way. In chapter one, he says, Don't try to focus on the how. Don't try to figure out the strategy. Don't try to figure out, you know, how it's going to manifest. Only focus on the vision. Only focus on the why. Only focus on the image that you're wanting to go towards. Focus on that. And guess what? This is going to happen. I don't know how many times I've had in my on my bathroom mirror, I put different pictures of things that I have had up there. And guess what? I just see the image and I believe the image and I receive the image. And guess what? The image, it just starts to kind of unfold and unpack itself. I don't have to try to figure that out. That's not my job. I don't have to lean upon my understanding. I just trust the Lord is going to help bring that to pass for me. And I can watch this. I can rest. I can rest in knowing that He is going to help me bring that to pass. And I don't have to try to figure that out. Man, that was good right there, what I just said. Because I need to hear that. I need to hear that really a whole lot. Because for me, um, yeah, even right now for me personally, my business is not where I want it to be today. And but I have the vision of where I want it to be. And God has on many occasions, probably too many times in my journal that I've written this out. I said, hey man, you're at the right place at the right time, Tyler. You're heading in the right direction. Don't try to figure that out. Let me be the one to make this all happen. Trust in me with all your heart. Lean not upon your understanding, Tyler. Right? Does that make sense, guys?
Here's the thing: the enemy, let me say this right here. What the enemy wants to do, the enemy wants to get you in the realm of understanding or the realm of, you know, reasoning and trying to figure it out. And you cannot get into that. If you're in the realm of faith and you stay in that realm of faith, he can't touch you. Okay. He can't touch you. So what are you fighting to do? You're fighting to labor to enter into the rest. Okay. Let me go into my notes real quick. Okay. So that's actually Hebrews 4, verse 11. It says, labor therefore to enter into the rest. Okay. This is where the fight comes. Okay, we're talking about the good fight of faith. This is where the fight comes. It says, staying in that rest after you've entered in the rest. That's where you've got to stay. You've got to stay in that rest where that you're at peace, where that you're content, where that you're not frustrated, where you're not in a hurry, right? You're not trying to figure it all out. You're not trying to get into your own understanding. Because the enemy, what the enemy wants to do, the enemy wants to try to get you out of rest. He wants to try to get you out of peace. He wants to get you out of trust. He wants to kind of get you out of faith. Those are the things he's wanting to do. He's wanting to get you in this whole reasoning and you know, trying to say, well, what why is it not working? Or questioning all these things. That's where he wants to get you. He wants to trip you up with that. But the truth
is, the Lord, watch this now. The Lord has already heard your prayer. Okay. When you prayed and believed and received what you had wanted, that's actually in uh where is it at? Oh, uh Mark chapter uh 11. Okay, you believe and received uh what you what you wanted when you prayed, okay. Guess what? He heard you. You can go and actually look in the book of Daniel, uh, where the Daniel on two occasions he actually prayed for an answer. It said, the angel actually said, Hey, when you prayed, immediately I heard it. He says on both those occasions. The first time that he prayed, he got an answer within about, I guess it'd be approximately three or four minutes, because that's how long his prayer lasted in the in the actual chapter. And when you go and read it, at the very end of his prayer, boom, the angel shows up with the answer. And he says, I heard you whenever you started. The second time there was resistance, the enemy resisted, and there was a 21-day struggle for that answer that the I guess it was Gabriel that needed to get to him, to Daniel, but Gabriel still heard or was sent immediately when he prayed. So remember that. Says the Lord heard your prayer, your seed of faith, of the vision of what you've had, is in the ground. The work has been done. Okay, so you you're not trying to outwork the system, you're not trying to outwork what's supposed to happen. This is where the rest comes in. And your faith has been released. And just like that good farmer, once he's planted, he is there now to water, to keep out any kind of uh doubt or b uh insects or bugs or whatever, right? And allow that seed to do its thing. He doesn't totally understand how that seed's doing his thing. He just knows and he believes that that thing's doing it. You know, faith is a choice.
You choose whether or not you're gonna believe or not. Maybe the money hasn't shown up, or the clients haven't shown up, or the healing that you've believed for hasn't shown up. But again, this is where that fight, the good fight, begins. Real faith has real joy and real peace in the midst. I guess this is my notes. Real faith has real joy and real peace in the midst of contradictory circumstances, symptoms, and lack. How do you how does that all work? How does that how do we know this? Well, number one, the spirit of faith it is the spirit of victory, because it says actually, in in I don't know if it's in um it's in one of the epistles, it says, faith is the victory that overcomes the world. Faith is the victory. So if you know that you've already won, your faith can continue, and you've already got the manifestation of the victory that you're gonna have. It's just is just a matter of time. One thing that you've got to do in that whole process is you've got to capture or take into take it into captivity any thought that goes against or wants to get you out of that rest, out of that faith that you've got. And you've got to police or be that good farmer that gets the crows, that gets the buzzards, that gets the insects, that gets whatever out of your field. You have to do that. Okay. One
of the ways, and I'll wrap up with this, one of the ways that that's done to actually stay in faith and stay in the and rest is it's a theme that's all throughout the uh the book of Psalms. So if you read Psalms, there's really a common theme through it. It's trust and praise. Trust and praise. So you trust, you're in faith, and guess what? On the same side, you praise and are thankful and give gratitude for the outcome that you have believed for. That is a weapon that you can actually use in order to make the manifestation happen. Okay. So, gang, I just want to leave with that
right there. My call to action is hey, two things. One is what have you what have you kind of allowed yourself to get away with in trying to figure it out or get frustrated with why is it taking so long, or why am I not seeing the manifestation? That what is it that maybe you've kind of let go of that you had faith for, that you said, ah man, I was believing for that healing in my body. I need to get back on my faith. I need to get back into rest. Or man, I was believing, you know, for those bills to be paid. Well, I need to get back on uh what the Bible says that my God shall supply all of my need according to rich the glory in Christ Jesus. Okay. It's that type of thing. All right. So what is it, guys? That's my first call to action. My second call to action is this right here. If you enjoyed this, if this actually spoke to you and you thought of someone, just one person, if you thought of someone, share it. Share this actually with them. For this along to them. Let them actually hear this message here. Okay. There are plenty of other people that probably can do a better job of communicating this with me, but it's just me. We're just uh across from each other at a coffee table, just chatting. And I hope that my heart came across with it. So know that you're blessed, you're highly favored, you're empowered to prosper, you walk in divine health. Spirit of breakthrough is upon you guys, and gang will catch you on the other side.
