Fellow marketplace Christians Stop apologizing and start winning. Welcome to the success edge. The show that helps you take your walk is a marketplace Christian to the next level. Here is your host, Christian entrepreneur Tyler McCarty. What's going on? Successes. Listen, total my car coming at you. Episode 1 53 Thanks so much for tuning in. Very excited. Be able to do this episode with you. I'm just traveling. Yep, Driving with road. It's about 7 53 in the morning. I'm headed to actually an architect in the great city of Huntsville, Alabama. Huntsville, Alabama, is where I have headed. I'll be there today and a little bit more morning that I drive back. Got about three appointments out that way. So very excited to be able to the on assignment. Yes, Uh, when you seek the kingdom, guys, you seek the kingdom and his righteousness, his ways of doing things. All right, then all these things shall be added to you. And what that also means is that you'll figure out what your assignment is. I guarantee a majority of people probably are honest time, but this have the wrong attitude about their assignment. And they had the wrong perspective. Other assignment. I was in there journaling, actually, yesterday I'm because I had a little bit of an attitude. I'll just let you guys know that there's a little bit of add to kind of sparked up about, uh, man didn't want jump back in tow, doing what I was doing as far as job wise. And, um but, you know, But honestly, God's got me on assignment right here, and I am in the right place at the right time of the right moment. And I believe that because I am. I'm following the Lord with everything that I can do right now, and I'm doing the very best that I know how to do. And, um, you know, I read a read of Scripture. I'm not going to read it to you right now because I'm driving. But if you go and you actually read Proverbs Chapter three versus 56 in the Passion translation, You know, one of things that says if you become intimate with the Lord in all that you do. He's gonna make your path straight or something like that. You know, I don't really totally remember. But if you become intimate with the Lord, you know he's And whatever you do, that's the key thing. And whatever you do make becoming intimate with him, he's gonna make everything work out, and that's again goes back to Matthew Chapter six, Verse 33. You know, seeking the kingdom because the King has a kingdom and you're in it whether you know it or not. But most people, most Christians, unfortunately, don't realize that they actually live in a kingdom and have access to kingdom, kingdom rights and kingdom policies and regulations that the Kingdom of God can override this earth curse system. So anyway, I know I'm kind of getting off in a little bit of a topic there, but I want to talk to you guys about how to feed your faith. I think this is very important as we're talking about this topic of faith in walking by faith. Last episode I talked about the genesis of my faith, and, you know, even where I am today, you know my faith is continually growing my faith continually expanding There is you know, there should not be a day that my faith does not get flexed or my faith is not get used on. The reason for that is you know, God is definitely God is on Lee. Pleased when we walk in faith. All right, you can go look that up in Hey, Bruce, Chapter six verse. Excuse me. 11 Verse six, Chapter 11 for six. But, you know, this is how we please the Lord And for most of us, for most of us, Or at least let me say this from where I was that many, many years ago growing up and, you know, being where I was that basically, as a young Christian, I did not know how to feed my faith. No one ever taught this from a pulpit. Uh, and I was clueless. And it wasn't until I started to get around men that you're people in life where I wanted to be. And there's a key key statement right there. Something that I learned early on in my life was You don't listen to people that are Don't listen to anybody that if you don't like where they're at in life. Don't listen to them. Okay? Now you can learn stuff from those people, but you don't have to sit there and absorb or, you know, allow that person to speak into your life. Um, anything. So because if you don't like where they're at in life, don't listen to him. I mean, you might not like where I'm in life mean, for that matter, but that's OK. I'm still gonna talk, and we're going to talk about what guys Awesome things got doing in my life and the fruit that I'm seeing in my life because quite honestly, you know, I mean, I'm not a multi millionaire. I'm not, You know, the I don't have, like, you know, 10,000 followers or a 1,000,000 followers on social media. Um, you know, I'm not famous. I'm not this person. That is, um, you know, high and mighty or anything like that. But I can tell you, this guy's that my life's pretty good. I mean, when you got a wife that loves you out for 18 years, and she, you know, continually makes you breakfast in the morning. She loves you. When you have got Children that love you and that are, you know, living for the Lord when you're your body is healthy. When you were, you know, your Children are healthy, Your wife is healthy. You know your loved ones or healthy when you have more than enough money in the bank to pay your bills on time and then have enough money left over to bless other people with if need arises. You know, I would say that's a pretty blessed life. And oh, here's here's another key one. Since we're kind of rolling off with this, here's the key one you'd like yourself. You actually like yourself. Now there's a concept right there. And you know what? The only way you can do that is from the word is knowing who you are in Christ knowing who you have as a as a believer that lives inside of you and no, your kingdom citizens rights. Okay, because trust me, you know you're gonna be pretty miserable for all your life. You tryto you know, do it all on your own. They just won't work. It never works, actually. So So I go back, Teoh feeding your faith and you know, I only listen to people that are in life where I want to be. Right? Um, you know, So if I'm sitting down with you and I'm really absorbing, you know what you're telling me. You know, I'm honoring you because I see you in a position, or I see you in a place where I want to be okay. And so that's, you know, I'm honoring you and I You know, I'm thankful that you guys honor me by actually listening to me. And so feeding your faith, you know, has to always begin with the word of God. Okay. There. Yeah, that. Wow, that just kind of rolled off without me even thinking about that statement feeding your faith always has to begin with the word of God. Now, Romans 10 17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Now I'm going to share with you some of my tips and hacks that I do to be able to get the word of God inside of me. All right, So I'm gonna share those with you so that you can maybe take maybe one, maybe two different things that I might share that helped me get the word of God in me. All right, So the very first thing that, you know, I figured out is the U version Bible out. Okay, this is where I start every morning. This is where will we have majority? The mornings? I start my day off and I'm putting the word in makeup because again, faith comes by hearing and by hearing by the word of God and, you know, because we're made up of a spirit you have, you have a mind and you live in a body, right? That's in first Thessalonians right there that those things right there that you have are applied now, as you were beginning your journey of feeding your faith, your faith is a muscle. So it can grow stronger and stronger them Or that you exercise your faith and mawr that you flex your faith muscle, the more it will grow. Now you have to feed it. So how do you feed your faith? Muscle? Great question. Glad you asked. So in the U by view version Bible out. You know, I've got you know, typically, yeah. If you looked at my youth version app If you open that up on my iPhone or on my iPad, which traditionally it's my iPad that I'm reading it from, is you'll see two things I've got, you know, some sort of devotion going all right. And I've got proverbs. So I subscribe to these readings, these devotionals and they basically air feeding my faith. Now majority the time I'm Oh, well, right now the last you know what, Three years? There's two different devotions by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland. And that's, you know, one devotion that I, you know, kind of flip flop between the 21 is the pursuit of his presence, I believe, or and the other one is faith to faith right now. This year I'm in faith, the faith. The other thing I I pretty much always read is ah proverb. So I always open up and I will read a book, read a chapter of proverbs because there's 31 chapters in Proverbs and how, you know, read a proverb. Now, let me talk about how I read the Bible, Okay? Because I go back to the whole entire faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Now, when I read I traditionally allow that Bible. If it is a translation that has a narrator reading the Bible, I will sit there and read along with that narrator right. So the n i v the new living translation I mean, the good news. Translation. There are so many other translations that have a narrator actually reading the word to me, you know, which I just I'm grateful for that very, very grateful for that. Now, the other thing that really does help me out a lot is this little technique is a little gesture on the iPad or on my iPhone. And you know, I apologize if you've got an android phone or an android tablet or ever how you read. But this is just on the iPhone that you can turn a gesture on on your settings. And it is basically where you can swipe down at the top of the page and whatever is the highlighted or highlighted. But the thing that is front center on the iPad and the iPhone, it will actually, Siri will read it to you, right? You can actually adjust the tempo of how she is reading it to you or he of whoever here Syria's. But this is a very, very powerful thing for us. You know, For me, it is again because I'm hearing the word I can read along with Siri, and I can actually absorb a little bit more content than the speed that I'd normally read out. And that's important for me because I need to absorb content. I need to get it in me, and I need to get faith in me. And faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. So that's one way that I do it. Okay, that's one way that I'm quickly, you know, getting the word in me and, you know, allowing it to not be a drudgery for me now if I don't have a lot of time, you know? Traditionally, you know, I've got probably about, you know, between, you know, 20 sometimes and sometimes up to 40 minutes in the morning before I have to, like, officially start, you know, getting out the door or getting wherever I need to be going, um, and so forth. Well, as I do that as I do that I am, um if I don't have time, if I literally you know, maybe a wake up late. Or maybe, you know, it's a early early morning for me, you know, much earlier than what I traditionally have. What I will do is I will actually just hit play. I'll go over there to the Bible app, and I will, you know, if I'm getting ready, putting brush my teeth, you know, putting lotion on my face. Whatever it is, I will sit there and just hit play and allow the Bible app to play as I'm standing there getting ready again. Just a hack that I have in that way, I'm getting, you know, some sort. I'm hearing the word you read to me, which is again, vitally important. Vitally important now. Yeah, because again, your spirit man is the thing that needs to be dominating. You know, your your soul ish realm. All right, let me say that again. Your spirit man needs to be the thing that is dominating your solo, Shrem. Your mind will and emotions. Okay, that's your solo. Shrill. So if that thing is not dumb and if your spirit man is not dominating you guys, then you know your body, your flesh. Is it going to actually be the one that's just gonna run wild your soul Solis room Just gonna run wild and basically be a, you know, quote unquote disa visual. Ah, garden unkept. Okay. A garden and kept in that garden will quickly get weeds. It'll have not good things in it, OK? No. The other thing that I do is I will traditionally, um, and this is just the routines that I go through. Open up a pod, my podcast app. And I'll listen to, you know, new normally, you know, 2 to 3 podcasts that are, you know, some sort of, um, you know, minister of the Gospel. And I'll listen to those 11 person that I was going to go and let you know who I listened to a lot. You know, in the very early in the morning, I'll normal. Listen to Andrew Womack in the morning. His podcast is about 15 minutes. And so I listen to his podcast is always very good. I'll listen like this morning. I listen to Joyce Meyers, her podcast and what she had to say. But I'm normally getting some sort of, you know, audio from a podcast in me. Okay, And that could be if I'm standing in my friend, my mirror getting ready. I'll hit the play button on that. If I've already read everything I need to read, the other thing I'll do is you know, if I'm in the car and I didn't have time to hit the play button, I'll do it in the car. So if that's basically you know, for the first you know, 45 minutes to hour of my day, All right, I'm putting something good inside of me, something that is building my faith. All right, That is that, you know, again is putting first things first. You know, with me the other thing that I'll dio Let me kind of go back to you know, another thing that I do in my Bible reading app is I've begun the process. I just have restarted this, but I've gone back and started studying. You know, someone in the Bible that I've, you know, feel drawn to. And right now I'm studying the life of Abraham. So I've read, you know, normally maybe I'll read a chapter or Regis a certain amount of verses in the Bible about Abraham, and I'll meditate on that. Meditate on Abraham's life right now. And so that's That's just kind of something that I've kind of found That really works for me. Okay? No. Another thing that I'll do is I'll fellowship. Now, this this right here is key because I definitely go to church. You know, there's no question about me not going to church on The reason why I go to church is because that encourages and builds my faith that when I see other believers, okay, when I see other believers, actually, um, themselves, you know, worshipping Lord praising the Lord that encourages me. And that builds my faith. All right. And whenever I'm able to, you know, sit corporately with a group of believers and study the word that builds my faith, right? Another thing that I do is I read books. Yep. Huh. Read books. And again, traditionally, I will sit there and read a book in the beginning of my day. And normally I'll get anywhere between five minutes of reading a book and upwards of 15 minutes of reading. A book is just depends on how much time I have in the morning to actually get some, get some of that book in me and I don't I don't utilize um, the Kindle app at all. I know that that's probably a go to for anybody that uses electron ICS. I sometimes read a normal book, but for the most part I read all of my books on my iPad or on my phone. And the reason I do that again is because that's that's easy gesture being swiped down and have Siri read, and I could sit there and read along. And if I like something did I'm reading right there? I can stop what I'm push pause with Siri and highlight whatever it is that's there. And then on top of that, once I'm done with that book, I've been able to export all the highlights that I can. You lies not do that through the iBooks. So that's through ibooks that I do that from, and I know that I books has changed, and it's actually gotten a whole lot better than what it was. They just didn't update here about two months ago. It is extremely, extremely. A great app has gotten a lot better, So audio books, audiobooks. Now this is kind of something that I do, Um, if I've listened to a lot of podcasts or I've, you know, say I listen to something say on YouTube because there's another place that I'll listen to stuff and I might download it before I get in the car on Ben. Play it because you have it mainly offline. YouTube off line is I'm riding on the car cause there's, you know, somebody of Minister called Bill Winston or someone that I really want to listen to. I'll do that. And But if I have done all that all right, I do use audible dot com and I've got different books that I, you know, have downloaded that. I'll have those red to me as I'm driving along in my car because I have spent a lot of time my car, as you can tell now, with with that audible thing, I'm just gonna give you a little something that I do something that I've learned, you know, maybe over the course of time, right? I because I listened a lot of stuff and I read a lot of stuff and I put a lot stuff good in. Sometimes my brain, my brain needs a break. Okay, It's sometimes I just need to be kind of where I can go get off into a good book that, you know, is uplifting. This encouraging. And what I mean by that is some kind of fictional book that eyes encouraging and like Right now I'm going through. Steven Law heads books about King Arthur and Merlin and those air some fantastic books. I think the very first book of the series is called Tally Essence. Talia and Man, it's that book, these series of books. Actually, I've read or listen to it or not auto audible before, But that series of books is just a fantastic book. Siri's and I'm really enjoying going back through them. Think I'm in my third book and I'll do that when I've done everything, you know? Listen, everything I'm like, you know, I need a break. Okay, so I'll do that to kind of give me some, you know, like reading or give my brain a breaker. You know, being able to go off into a another world and allow myself just kind of, you know, be entertained a little bit. Okay, um let's see. Got that one. That one. That one, That one. That one? Yeah, the last one I'll mention guys. And probably this is Yeah, I'm glad I said I didn't realize. I don't say this one for last, but this is definitely something that say, you know, for last. So another thing that I do in order to get the word in me again because this is so vitally important. And it goes back to what happened to me on the last episode. Whenever I started to meditate on the verse Philippians 4 19 because of my situation, meditation upon a key scripture that you're wanted, get down inside of you is done out loud is done under your breath or his song or IDs, you know, yelled or whatever it is, but it's done out loud in meditation. Is that simple fact of you, actually, you know, meditating on the word. Okay, if there's something that's going on in your life that you definitely need to get a revelation on or that you need to get down in your spirit or you've got you know, something that you're you know you know, you need some help with from from holy spirit, then easy enough. Meditation is your go to play, okay? If you go back and re listen to episode 1 50 to talk about where that that right there changed everything for me is whenever I started meditating on the word, I planted the seed of the word I was planning that I planted that seed in the world. In them, I began the water it and build my faith because faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God toe wear that when the pressure of life began to squeeze me, then the right thing came out of my mouth. Okay? The right thing came out of my mouth, and that right thing was, um, the key scripture that I have been meditating on for a good period of time. And the last thing else say, if you want Teoh even go even for the extra mile, sometimes I will, actually, um and I have to always get permission from my wife doing this, but I'll actually play maybe a book or a podcast, or maybe say some sort of audio on YouTube or whatever it is as I sleep. Okay. And I do have to get permission from my wife when doing that. So, you know, success has created this. This is what I do. All right, This is how I feed my faith. This is how I keep it. And these are the little hacks that I do in order to, uh, technology's been a big blessing, you know, to mean in order to be able to get the word in, because the device, you know, devices I have our with our with me and they're transportable and, you know, listening. You know, you when you're reading something, you have to stop and look at it, and you know you can't. But when you're listening, there's just something about Listen, you can go anywhere, you be doing anything and be listening. You know to it, even if you have, you know, saying ear bud in, um, you know your ear one ear and you've got on very low settings. Your subconscious is actually picking that up, you know? And that's the power of, you know, putting stuff in your feeding yourself when you're doing that. So, successes community appreciate you guys. Hey, if you're wanting to partner with me, you can definitely dio to patri on dot com. Look up Tyler my cart and find Find me there. And then if you want to be a supporter and on actual patron or a partner with me, I've got different tiers. I think of God's, you know, $5 or and $10 tears, you know? I'm just giving an opportunity to partner up OK, so sec, I appreciate you guys know that you're blessed, highly favorite in power to prosper.
