Tyler H. McCart: Christian | Leadership | Business | Sales | Coach Season 12 Episode 14

Send us a text

Have you ever noticed how frantically chasing success often leads to frustration, while faithfulness seems to attract blessings effortlessly? This paradox forms the heart of our exploration in this thought-provoking episode.

Drawing from Proverbs 28:20, we unpack a powerful truth that's easily overlooked in our achievement-oriented culture: "Faithfulness to God can't help but produce increase, but increase can't be the goal or it's out of order." This divine principle challenges the way many of us approach our work, businesses, and ministry efforts. When we invert God's order by making results our primary focus, we create pressure that ultimately sabotages the very success we seek.

Through practical insights and biblical wisdom, we examine how faithfulness functions as the root from which all increase grows. Whether you're building a business, developing a ministry, or advancing in your career, you'll discover why the highest form of faith isn't striving harder—it's resting confidently in your faithfulness to God's principles while trusting Him with the outcomes. As Proverbs reminds us, "The horse is made ready for battle, but victory comes from the Lord."

This message will transform your understanding of Kingdom success by showing you how to release the pressure of performance without sacrificing excellence. The blessings that flow from faithfulness aren't meant to be idols we pursue but tools that advance God's purposes through our lives. Ready to experience the freedom that comes from putting faithfulness first? This episode might be exactly what you need to hear right now.

If this message resonates with you, consider whether someone in your circle needs this perspective too. Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is share wisdom that's impacted us. And if you're looking to strengthen your own faithfulness, start with consistent time in God's Word and prayer—it's the foundation from which all other blessings flow.

Speaker 2:

Hey, if this is your first time here, just want to let you guys know that we're all about helping you maximize your potential in the marketplace for the kingdom of God and there are specific ways, specific things that we talk about on here about how to do that, things that we talk about on here about how to do that. So I know that the last couple of episodes I've been pretty hot and heavy on the family and actually talking about family and society and how to actually have a family plan. So you can go back and listen to those two episodes right there. But I'm going to shift gears and we're going to go back to actually an episode that I did maybe about three or four weeks ago and I received a text message actually from a gentleman and that's been a faithful listener of mine for many, many years and he really actually it was episode 417, so it was not too long ago, maybe about five episodes ago, so this is 422. But he really kind of felt like it was very timely for him.

Speaker 2:

It really spoke to him and I think even the title of it was Faithfulness Over Successful, faithful Over Successful. And I want to revisit this topic Because, again, there was something that he said in his text message that really again inspired me to say, man, there's some more things for us to unpack with this about being faithful, and I'm going to kind of go into that today with you guys. But before I jump into everything, hey, this is actually sponsored by the Family Legacy Planning and Bank Education process that I'm actually teaching people to just written my first mini ebook. Yes, it is a mini book. Right now it's kind of in the draft stages. I actually just finished it up last week and my wife is proofing it, rereading it right now as we speak.

Speaker 2:

If you'd like to get on the waiting list of when I actually released this book, um, I'd be honored, uh, to add your name to that list. You can send uh. Send me a message on, uh. Send me a text, uh, via in the show notes right there. Make sure you put your email or your phone number whatever it is how you want me to communicate with you, um, or, if you've already got my number, uh, cause you've already reached out to me before just send me a friendly uh text message to say, hey, tyler, add me to the list and uh, and I'll send you, uh, that copy of that um out. Uh, I don't even know if I'm going to uh monetize that uh or not. If just actually information, I want to get out about the family's legacy planning piece and family bank aspect of what I'm teaching people right now and have a business around. So yeah, but if you're interested in that, feel free to send me your information and we'll go from there.

Speaker 2:

So, all right, let's talk about this whole faithfulness thing and this will be, uh, this actually might be kind of a short episode because I don't have a ton of time, but I want to go back to this. So let's, let's go back to this verse 28, verse 20. And it says a faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished. So that's in the New King James Version, right there. But a faithful man will abound with blessings. And this is what my good friend, brad he mentioned on here that I really, really liked he said right here because faithfulness to God can't help but produce increase. But increase can't be the goal or it's out of order. Man, when I read that, that's not his whole text to me, by the way, there was a lot more context in the text message, but I remember that statement that he and I pulled it out because it's just such a powerful thing. It says because faithfulness to God, you can't help it. All right, let me make sure that you hear that this is it's automatic. Yeah, I'll say it. I'll be as bold to saying it. It is automatic, guys. Yeah, I'll be as bold to saying it. It is automatic, guys, when we are faithful to the Lord.

Speaker 2:

No-transcript, that faithfulness always produces increase. It always produces increase, you know. It might produce increase in your marriage, it might produce increase in your relationship with your kids, it might produce increase in your job or in your business, but faithfulness is always going to produce increase when we're faithful to the Lord. Now, with that said, the verse that I'm sitting there thinking about right now that just popped up to me is Proverbs 10.22. You guys have heard me quote that verse many, many times, and that verse says that verse many, many times. And that verse says the blessing of the Lord, it makes rich and he adds no sorrow to it.

Speaker 2:

Again, that just backs up what this whole thing that Brad said to me. Via the text it says, because faithfulness to God can't help but produce increase, okay, but instead. But increase can't be the goal, all right, that's the thing. Right there is that's where I screw up. I know you screwed up because you know we're human and we get these things backwards and we sit there and go, okay, I need to make this a certain amount of money, or I need to. You know, if you're in athletics, you need to. You know, bench press this amount, squat this amount, just so that you goals ahead of our Heavenly Father and we start putting pressure. This is where it kind of comes in. We start putting pressure and saying, man, I've got to do this, I've got to hit this number. I've got to, you know, achieve this amount of, you know sales, or I've got to. You know, get this amount of income, you know sales, or I've got to, you know, get this amount of income coming in so that my bills are paid. Whatever it is, when we sit there and make that the focus, boy, it really sabotages things. It creates this imbalance. It creates, you know, as Proverbs 10, 22 says, toil and you know, sorrow with it.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I was sitting there talking to another gentleman actually earlier this week. Great guy loves the Lord man. He is pursuing the Lord like none other and it is awesome to see him do it. And he asked you know he wanted, cause I think he had just gotten in listening to episode four, 17. And, by the way, I'm getting out of my truck, if you can't tell so, hence me banging around a little bit. He he's like, you know, tyler.

Speaker 2:

You know I want to be the hardest working guy in the room. I want to be known as that. I want to be. If I'm in the gym, I want to be that guy that's the hardest working guy in the gym. And you know, gang, I'm all for that, I get it. You know our society. You know we glorify people to want to be at a high level work ethic wise. You want to be at a high level work ethic wise, you know. I mean I'm reminded of the football coach that is a great man and one of his first shirts that he produced for us as a football team and basically all it said was work, okay, and that's pretty much all it was was you know, we're gonna outwork you and we wear it as a badge of honor. Well, I totally, totally agree with that. There is guys, there is this, this thing of of actually my part and the Lord's part, and there's this balance that we have to have.

Speaker 2:

And we get so caught up with thinking, okay, I've put in so much time, I've put in so much work, why am I not receiving results? I mean I've I, I mean I I've got an, I've got a thrower, I've got a thrower right now that that this person that's been kind of the whole thing that they've been putting in all this work, they feel like and they haven't seen the results yet. And you know, at the end of the day I've just had to tell that person and say hey. Yet and you know, at the end of the day I've just had to tell that person say hey, don't focus on the results, let the results do their thing. I've got this thing. You know, me and the other coach, as we're coaching these athletes, we say, look, you know we break down our throwing into about four steps. Okay, we have this system. Actually it's five steps, but the four steps are the critical components. Okay, so four steps and all those four steps that are broken down are inside the throwing ring and the fifth step is the results. And I know I probably sound like a broken record player he sounds like a broken record player as well and we tell our athletes I said look, don't worry about step number five. Step number five will take care of itself. If you do steps one, two and three and four, inside the ring, five will be the result and it'll do exactly what you need to do and gang, there's a little bit of that right there. And just being faithful to the Lord. Don't sit there and try to do and gang, there's a little bit of that right there in just being faithful to the Lord. Don't sit there and try to figure out. Man, I have to hit this thing. No, you just have to be faithful faithful to the Lord. I know it sounds so simple, but it really is, because and I took down these notes right here so number one faithfulness brings God's favor. Okay, when we're, when we stay consistent, walking with God, in our character, in our work, in our stewardship, blessings naturally follow.

Speaker 2:

Increase is the byproduct of trustworthiness before God, not the goal itself. So increase is the byproduct. It's the thing that's going to come. It's that fifth element or that fifth step that I keep referring to for my athletes. But did you do step one, two, three and four? Right, then that's going to happen. Don't sit there and try to chase that. It's never, it's going to. It's an illusion. If you don't do one, two, three and four right, you're not going to get step five right.

Speaker 2:

And that's kind of going back to the guy I was having coffee with here recently. You know, I just kind of reiterated to him that you know we've got to start to rest, rest in the Lord and be confident. I told him that the highest form of faith is actually resting in the Lord, being able to rest and be secure. That man, I know that I've done whatever I need to do and I'm going to allow the Lord to have the results and bring about what he's bringing about. I mean, again, there's another proverb in the word that talks about that and I think I read it me and Tyler Jr.

Speaker 2:

We were on the way to his football walkthroughs this morning. It's six o'clock this morning. I had to drop him off, but we were sitting there listening. It says the horse is made ready for battle, but the victory comes from the Lord. Okay, I mean that's found in Proverbs 21, right there. I don't know, I think it's the very last verse. I don't know what verse it is, but it's in Proverbs 21. But the horse is made ready for battle. Yes, we have our job, guys, but you know what, at the end of the day and I love this statement right here here we go. Man, that's such a powerful statement.

Speaker 2:

We release all outcomes. We release them. We're not fixated on them. We release all outcomes. We're not trying to figure it out, no, not the how, but we're just going to. The Lord's going to bring about the increase. Okay, here's here's number two Increase is a fruit, not a root. Okay, that's number two. Increase is not, is a fruit, not a root. Watch this Pursuing increase for its own sake leads to striving and disappointment. But when faithfulness is our focus, god determines the timing and the measure of the increase. That's so good what I wrote. The order matters Faithfulness first, fruit second. Faithfulness first, fruit second. Let me move on. Number three guard against misplaced ambition. Guard against misplaced ambition. If increase becomes the aim, it shifts, and it always does. Guys, you can't help this.

Speaker 2:

It shifts our heart away from our Heavenly Father.

Speaker 1:

It does.

Speaker 2:

I've been guilty of this. I've been guilty of it you know where that every day I have to kind of check myself with. Where is my focus? Is my focus on you know, how much money I'm bringing in from a business and the couple of businesses that I'm working on right now, you know? Or am I just kind of in a state of peace, knowing that, guess what? Being faithful to the Lord, I'm doing everything I know to do. I'm going to rest in the Lord, knowing that he's going to bring the increase because I've done everything I need to know to do. Okay, that whole great joint venture. Let me continue. True success is found in obedience and faithfulness, and the blessings that flow are tools to advance God's purpose, not idols to pursue man. Let me read that again. That is so good. True success is found in obedience and faithfulness. And the blessings here we go, the blessings that flow are tools.

Speaker 2:

They're only tools to advance God's purpose, not idols to pursue. Okay, so, kingdom success, that's what I wanted to talk to you guys about. I mean, when my good friend Brad said that to me, I just said, man, that is such a, he said it so well, I couldn't help. But, you know, use that. And, brad, I appreciate you letting me use that. But, gang, I hope this impacted you. I hope this helped you out. So here's the two calls to action. One is maybe you need to get faithful. That might be just faithful with spending diligent time, quiet time with your Bible and your prayer journal, put your phone away, and where you actually just spend time with the Lord. That's it Just being consistent with that one thing. All right, then that might be your call to action. That would be the thing I would say. Is, if you did anything today, you know, have you spent time with the Lord, have you been in his word and have you been in time with prayer?

Speaker 1:

That's it.

Speaker 2:

That's it, not, not complex, not anything more. Just that. And here's the last thing and you know this, I think I'm a broken record when I say this, but this is the second thing. If you've thought of somebody while you were listening to this, they could use this actual message that you heard right here, please share it, send it over to somebody, share this with somebody. Let them know that. Hey, you know I was thinking about you Whenever I listen to this. Take a listen. So, kingdom success, know that you're blessed, you're highly favored, you're empowered to prosper, you walk in divine health. Spirit of breakthrough is on you, guys, and we'll catch you on the other side.
