Did DJ Envy Start It By Asking About Remy?

Host and Creator: Blonde Intelligence (Ms. Roni) Season 4 Episode 80

Welcome to this week's Blonde Intelligence.  I am your host Ms. Roni and I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. Headlines love the mess, but the truth sits in the choices we make on the mic and behind the scenes. We open with the viral chatter around Papoose and the talented boxing champion Claressa Shields, then zero in on the moment a personal question landed on a national platform—and what it says about boundaries when a host claims friendship with both sides. If you say you respect someone’s request to keep their name out of your mouth, that should guide your interview, not fuel your clip.

From there we shift to the real business of sports celebrity: endorsements. If a champion’s family is online complaining about “no deals,” the fix isn’t beef, it’s a better plan. Nike, Under Armour, and Reebok don’t sign chaos; they sign a story that scales. We unpack how managers and agents can pivot from drama to deals with a focused brand narrative, smart timing around fights, and community work that speaks to longevity instead of headlines that burn out by Monday.

Relationship dynamics get a clear-eyed read too. Viewers saw interruption and labeled it weakness, but temperament and trust complicate that snap judgment. Letting a partner step in during conflict can be protection, yet timing matters—answer the question, then add context. We also tackle the marriage debate sparked by Yandy and Mendeecees: if two people exchanged vows, wore rings, built a family, and held each other through storms, does a missing certificate erase the meaning? Legal status matters, but so do promises kept in public and private.

If you’re here for honest media critique, practical career advice for athletes and artists, and a grounded take on love and public life, you’ll feel right at home. Tap play, then tell us: where should the line be drawn—on-air boundaries, brand over beef, and what truly counts as marriage? Subscribe, share with a friend who loves culture convos, and drop your take in the comments.

Welcome to this week's Blonde Intelligence. I'm your host, Miss Ronnie, and I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. And this week, I saw some some footage, and it was at two different times, but I'm like, what the hell? So I was on scrolling on YouTube, and uh I think I was watching one of Tasha Kay's fuckery Fridays, I think. I can't I think that's what it was, but anyway, she played like a snippet of an interview that she did with one of Clarissa Shield's cousins, aunts, or something. And she asked the question, did she change when you know she got her come-up? And the lady was like, What come up? What come up? Whoever heard of a win records uh signing a boxer and and and she ain't got no endorsements and da da da. And I was like, oh lord. And Tasha Kay's reaction was like mine. She opened her bottle of wine and started pouring her glass of wine because it's like, are you shitting me or are you kidding me? So then I saw that several people had made um videos about a breakfast club interview that Papoose and Clarissa done. Now, it was several snippets that was out. One of them, people have like really bad comments, and the main thing is, but she would have married men, she would have married men, and people are getting into arguments over what is a legal separation. It was a lot of comments being made about just the relationship in general, and I remember when they got together, I was listening to a tarot reading, and the tarot reading said that um this is not verbatim, but it said that the person that is meant for, because you know it'd be general, meant for you, may already be with someone else, but may need to get out of that relationship, and it may be really public. So I'm like, I know that's a celebrity, it's not no anything to do with somebody that I know because of it seemed to be in public. So when it came out that him and her were a couple, I was like, it was about them. And it was gonna be some people that was gonna be for it, it was gonna be a lot of people that was against it, but they have to stay strong within themselves. So I looked at the snippet of the Breakfast Club video, and they asked Papoose a question, and he was trying to answer it, but Clarissa kind of like came and stepped in, and people talking about he weak, he this, he that. And so, you know, I got to look in because I've been listening to several tarot readings, and they've been talking about an earth sign and a water sign, and they've particularly been calling out Pisces, so I find that Clarissa and Papoose are both Pisces, and that Remy is a Taurus. I can see that, and that um a Pisces and a Taurus has a high compatibility rate, but so does a Pisces and a Pisces. So people keep saying that he's not happy, but I just can't see somebody being somewhere where they're not wanting because they're saying that she's a comma. She still has a ways to go. I think that they're trying to grow together, I'm just saying. But I also looked at when they was like he was weak, that she wouldn't let him speak and all of that. I looked at, so I've done a little research, and it said that a Pisces man will let his woman speak for him if he feels like it's a conflicting issue or highly emotional for him. So when he said she my best friend, I think a lot of people misconstrue things. She do step in when he needs her to step in, and that's something that's known between those two. So I'ma get to the heart of the question. What started all of this was should DJ Envy had asked the question about him and his previous relationship in front of her. Now, I feel like it could have been ways to check that. Because if he's friends with both of them, he know, and everybody who has followed this story know that Remy asks for them to keep her name out of their mouths. And as long as they keep her name out of their mouths, then there'll be no problems. So I feel like if DJ Envy was both Papu's and Remy's friend, then he would have respected her wishes too, which was don't speak her name. So if you're having an interview with them, why would you bring up her? Just talk about the shit you need to talk about. So I kind of feel like it's a lot of misplaced anger. And that's something that maybe he didn't want to talk about, and maybe something that Clarissa stepped in to um mitigate for him. Not that he's being weak, but the point that he don't like conflict. So I kind of feel like that maybe on the outside we don't know the inner dynamics of the relationship because remember, they're highly compatible also. So another question that I wrote down was did Clarissa overstep Pat? I'm gonna say yes. And the reason why I'm gonna say yes is because you don't interrupt people when they're talking. He was trying to talk, and you were trying to get your point in. You can get your point in, but let the person who was asked the question answer the question before you cut them off. Now I can see him being quiet, getting back, and letting you answer different things, but to cut a person off while they're talking is rude. That's something that she's gonna have to work on with that. But that family member on Tasha Kay is really what took the cake. She don't have any endorsements. And I was thinking, and this is not to be negative at all, but instead of her beefing with Layla Ali, her people need to be trying to get her some endorsements with Nike, with Under Armour, all of those. I think they're selling Reebok in Walmart now, which is fine. That means that they that more of the regular consumer has access to their apparel. So instead of trying to get money together to fight Layla Ali, or even both of y'all going back and forth, because I think that I said in another show, both of them was being a little childish in that aspect. Don't matter what the name is. But your management and your agent, besides booking fights for you, need to be seeking major endorsements. And so I didn't watch the the video because what I saw on the snippet that Tasha showed just had me freaking flabbergasted. She said when the lady said something about winning records, I'm gonna say this. Everybody has a talent, and because you can carry a a a tune at times or whatever, or little flow, does not mean that you need to be signed to a record label. I think who did that? Shaq released something while he was playing basketball or something. And people supported her because it was Shaq. It was okay. It wasn't like, ooh, we got skills, we got skills. And it's kind of like that with you. We'll support you if it sounds decent. But as a being signed to a record label, I don't know if that's what you're looking for. You need to be looking for Nike and Reebok and Under Armour and things like that. That's really all that I have there. Cause I I'm not even gonna discuss that family member like that. Because there has to be some deep underlying issues to want to. I don't understand why people want to go to the blogs to talk about their family. Because I think Cat Williams' brother did that and a couple of other people. But this next thing that I just want to touch on very, very, very quickly is why do Tamar feel like she needs an apology from people because Mendici's said that him and Yandy wasn't married. Okay, to me, this is just me, and maybe I got it wrong. It's the law of the land to have a certificate sign. But back in the day when people got married, they made a commitment. So if they made the commitment to each other and was there for better or for worse, they did repeat those vows. They made vows, whether it was recorded or not. So if they were wearing rings and they had a ceremony, to me, it's a marriage. To me. And for Tamar to say, give me an apology, girl, go sit down somewhere. Go sit down somewhere. Because nobody is apologizing to you because he came out and said that they're no longer married. Because although they may not have been legally married, they both wore wedding rings, they both took vows, they both said I do. They have children together. She held him down when he was in prison. She went through things with his baby mama, although I think that Yandy started most of it. But the point of the matter being, nobody owes you an apology for being Datiana. And with that, I am going to say, have a happy 2026 from Blonde Intelligence. Bye.
