On this episode, I am joined by podcaster Bárbara Mendes Jorge, who hosts the music podcast Over/Underrated with her friend Fran. Each episode, they pick a theme (a genre, music scene, decade, etc) and pick two bands: one that is overrated, and one that is underrated and they try to get each other to see their POV.

However, Bárbara is not here to debate, she’s here to share her love for PJ Harvey and her 1992 debut album Dry. Featuring a guitar heavy blues punk sound, Polly Jean Harvey crafts elaborate stories about love, heartbreak, lust, power, sexuality, gender roles, adds biblical references, and caps it off with a twist of humor.

We discuss the genius behind the songs, as well as how, despite both being late to the PJ Harvey fanbase, she became one of our favorite artists of all time.
