Fine Wine Confidential Podcast
The Fine Wine Confidential Podcast tells the story of how the modern-day Virginia wine industry has progressed during the past forty-five years and is now achieving Thomas Jefferson's aspiration to produce world-class wine. Fred Reno interviews many of the Old Dominion's prominent winery owners, winemakers and viticulturists. In their own words, you the listener, will learn why Virginia is the most exciting wine-growing State in the country today.

INTRODUCTION TO FINE WINE CONFIDENTIAL BOOK PODCAST/AUTHOR FRED RENO
The Fine Wine Confidential Book Podcast is a series of audio excerpts or snippets from my upcoming book, titled Fine Wine Confidential.
This new Podcast series will share insider information about what really happens behind the scenes in the Fine Wine business. Everything, from the up-close look at how marketing, sales, and pricing decisions are made to the sometimes crazy notions winery founders and owners have about who they are and why they have had success.
I will tell you from my experience that most of their success is a result not of their decisions but the recovery efforts by their staff or outside help to overcome the not-so-brilliant direction they were headed. You couple that with good timing and other market conditions that were not of their making, and that usually explains the success they enjoyed. I will lay it all out there for you to decide for yourself once you have heard the stories.

Fred Reno
Well, Hi there, folks. Fred Reno, your host for the Fine Wine Confidential Podcast, and I'm back.
I've missed connecting with you through my podcast since I shut it down back in February of this year. My goal at that time was to find the next meaningful avenue to connect with you, my audience, about my ongoing wine career. As I mentioned in my sign-off with my last episode in the All About Virginia Norton series, I was going to turn my attention full-time to finishing the book, which I've been writing for over 12 years now, and to have a final draft manuscript ready by the end of 2025.
I have made a significant amount of progress towards that goal, and as a result, I want to begin to share some snippets from the book orally and see what feedback I receive from you, my listener. This book itself is a Tell-all Memoir about my 46 years in the wine industry. It's not about me personally, however, because it's my experiences, and I'm naming names, it's inevitably about my career.
Without detailing my entire 46-year career and success in the wine industry, let me just state the following. In my experience, I'm the only individual I'm aware of who's been in all three tiers of the fine wine business, and I want to stress Fine Wine. Not only have I seen every side of the industry, but when I was in one of those segments of the business, I either influenced or changed that tier during my tenure. My accomplishments are well documented. I've been written about in trade and public media, and have written for various wine publications. Simply put, there's no one more passionate about wine than me, and I coupled that with my passion for business to create a career in which I had numerous explosive and challenging moments that I believe you'll find entertaining. Stay tuned.
My first episode in this new series from my upcoming book will hit the airways very soon, because this is a Tell All. I will not be whitewashing nor glorifying the wine industry. It's my goal to tell the true story of what goes on behind the scenes and bring you, my listeners, and ultimately the reader of my book, into that world. I want to thank you for your ongoing support and interest, as I share with you my many lived experiences in the fascinating World of Wine. Cheers.
