The Other Side of Potential
Over time, the conversations we choose to have begin to reflect what matters most.
If you’ve been part of this podcast, you’ve heard me speak about human development, systems thinking, and the ways we make meaning of our lives and work. That work continues—and remains at the core of my coaching and professional practice.
What has changed is the space where I am choosing to have a different kind of conversation.
After the death of my son, Michael, I felt called to create a more personal place—one that speaks directly to the experience of loss, and to the questions that emerge when life no longer looks the way it once did.
That space is now Beyond the Loss.
This podcast is for parents who have lost a child, and for those who support them. It is not about fixing grief or finding closure, but about understanding how we continue to live, to make meaning, and to become—after loss.
If you are looking for my current podcast,
you will now find me there.
I invite you to join me on Beyond the Loss.
You are welcome.

The Other Side of Potential
Episode 329: Best Of: Healing from Betrayal with Debi Silber
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Betrayal—it’s something most of us have experienced, and unlike other forms of trauma, it cuts deep. The personal nature of betrayal makes it harder to heal from, and without the right support, many people stay stuck in patterns of pain that affect their mental and physical health for years.
In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Debi Silber, founder of the Post Betrayal Transformation (PBT) Institute. After experiencing two life-altering betrayals herself, Debi made it her mission to understand betrayal and help others heal. She discovered three fundamental truths about betrayal and developed a 5-stage healing process that has helped countless people transform their lives.
If you’ve been through a betrayal—whether recently or long ago—there’s hope. Healing is possible, and Debi’s insights will show you how to take that first step.
What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
- Why betrayal is different from other types of trauma.
- The 5 stages of healing from betrayal (and why so many get stuck in Stage 3).
- Common physical and mental symptoms of betrayal.
- The two paths you can take after betrayal—and how to rebuild your life.
- Why avoiding the healing process often leads to repeated patterns of betrayal.
Debi’s compassionate and practical approach will help you see that there is light at the end of the tunnel—and if you’re ready to heal, you can get there.
