Unknown:

But the question remains the same. Can White people say nigga? And the answer is the same. Not really. There's one exception. There's one instance where white people can say nega. White people it is Christmas Eve is between both 30 and fold 49 in the moment, if you wait, and you are on your way to Toys R Us to get your kid the last transformer doll. And right before you walk into Toys R Us some black person runs up the Saju smashing the head with a brick knocks into the ground stops you in the face kicked into class, take that level of approval, take take some money and run away. If you right at that moment, you could say somebody stopped that.

Jeff:

Yo Yo Yo yo yo, yo, yo, thank you for tuning in to another installment of the culture it's your boy Jeff here with my man, Tony and Tony. And Tony was good homie.

Anthony:

My lady is like a dream. I'm holding you close and keeping you well. This is an hour like Josie like that. That's a good fucking song where I hate the group's was like it's full of my focus in it and like two more focusing like the Jackson Five all of them saying that oh like the temptation the full tax everybody saying God he was just a brothers no everybody's saying Andrew Hill everybody wanted to hear everybody sing and boys and men everybody on Jagged Edge backup singers. I know I know the brothers did the twin brothers I cuz I was having to stop before man they don't make good with

Jeff:

the bad boy it was the bad boy group 112 112 They all say

Anthony:

yeah but the most like like slim non singing asked me

Unknown:

to be

Anthony:

a hey no that bought it all right. All right, Nick

Unknown:

is in cream. I mean, he mentioned him and me now

Anthony:

I remember a long long time ago I went to a strip club and they put peaches and cream on and they were they went wild for that shit like just the song job is tripping to peaches and cream like I get it I get the symbolism of a button I wish I just wish it was more grew what must

Unknown:

I do with backing

Anthony:

anyway and it all bonus cried over it like yo man if you ever go and get her back even cried about her for like three albums she she know love you no more let that go. She moved on. But let's get the show. Yes, the fuck he does get the show rolling. Because

Jeff:

I have the pleasure to announce that we have two new culture crew members

Anthony:

who don't who don't get on board the crack. All right, we got two new

Jeff:

members. And one of them opted to remain anonymous. So I can even give them a shout out. So one of them opted to remain anonymous. The other gentleman that signed up as a scribe to us goes by the name of E. J deal. And I don't know much about the gentleman. I don't know if that's his real name sounds like some type of rap name right EJ do I want to call them Dylan. I want to call them Bilodeau or scrilla. And that there's only one dealer there's only one so I got I got I got it I got a dog because you know how we got to give you know Coach recruit members get nicknames right? So I'm gonna run them down. So the shout outs so we got Melly Mel, which is a play on the legendary rapper. Melly Mel

Anthony:

who really caught a lot of flack from phantom shit about rapid stuff.

Jeff:

I guess he's Oh no, it was oh, he'll be talking to you

Anthony:

know how you be talking to you like man. My day didn't the message. Like man oh, we had it was cargos and Timberland boots,

Jeff:

yo, I'll say, Hey, I don't deny I'm that guy. Um, that back in my day guy. Okay. I don't deny that shit. Some people. I'm conscious of the shit. Okay, um, the back in my day guy. That's me. I'll tell you all day about back in my day in the 90s and an ad so she was way better than today's bullshit. But anyway.

Anthony:

Well, okay, so

Jeff:

when is your birthday? November The sixth Scorpio season.

Anthony:

Okay. Bigger please. Do you have any idea what's going to be birthday?

Jeff:

Me and the wife are going to Jamaica for the Big Four. Oh.

Anthony:

All right, cuz I bought it since you feel so strong.

Jeff:

Claude mine we go into Jamaica. We out this

Anthony:

bitch. Why don't you throw a 90s hip hop party?

Jeff:

Yeah, go range that.

Anthony:

I mean, I'm not sure what were the Flavor Flav change man he's so baggy as pants. I mean, I need to see some car organized some FUBU some Tommy Hilfiger some cross colored jeans some Tommy? It because everybody went at Tommy Hilfiger windbreaker.

Jeff:

I don't want to see no fitted clothes too. If you're shooting super baggy, you ain't allowed in the motherfucker. Your sneakers have to be covered. Your shoes got to be completely covered and Jean.

Anthony:

I got to be able to grab your pants and not feel your leg. They gotta be that bad. Like it's just room among room like you know, somebody's gonna coming in with the Charlotte Hornets. 99 He started jacking with a pocket and

Jeff:

what about the eight ball? I think I still have my eight ball Jack is big as hell on me too.

Anthony:

PBXs get robbed for them chips Yeah, the eight ball glasses. Because they'll glasses. You go ahead and have like a bunch of contracts and beef and broccoli Timberlands on selling is a way you can go about it like that 90 Shouldn't be fire. Like just oh like basically have like everybody who the guests like pick an album cover from the 90s and you got to dress like

Jeff:

you come in the shiny suits with the Diddy and should amaze

Anthony:

the Diddy shiny suits thing like was like the whole night still met a couple of we had on the cargo army pants to the cart, the the army jacket, the boots and we had the red hat

Jeff:

on the Stillmatic cover that half of a law suit on I think out of a law suit with a watch a ring a chain.

Anthony:

But that was it. There was a weird thing like it went from like dressed like pimps to dress like gangsters and finding somewhere in the mall you could

Jeff:

show up like Nori and Capone and just have the fatigues on with the Tim's

Anthony:

you know, it just came to my mind. You know you should see your shit. Because it's you, your son, your wife and your sister. You're all like we're all black. And like we do like the death row cover.

Jeff:

It could be actually snooping probably the death row cover or it could be the firm cover. Because it was similar

Anthony:

see? Exactly like Dre ran out of ideas. I know we did the ship before we're gonna do it again. This worked. So we're going to do let me finish my shout outs for the Patronato work

Jeff:

we got Melly Mel. Then we have the one and only D block Helwig because you see sometimes Sometimes they give us their nickname, right? Otherwise we come up with the nickname for the coach crew.

Anthony:

Then we got I'm really thinking these dudes as criminals, dog everybody gotta aka

Jeff:

we're not questioning whether the money is dirty and to clean man. That's none of our concern all green. Then we got King cause of the third. Then we have this particular person. I don't even think we've given them a nickname yet. Tosh is just Tosh. That is good enough. Now we got to come up with something we got to do better than that. Like can we name her after a Disney princess or some that she looked like somebody that she like Snow White or some somebody? Spinderella

Anthony:

I mean, I mean, I mean, in the wintertime? She's kind of pale. I don't know. Spinderella was it? Was it? That rushett I'm not calling a Russian name the fuck out here. What's the character from what's it? What's the fucking Disney Princess the restaurant? And like your favorite fucking Disney movie?

Jeff:

That's not mine though.

Anthony:

No, hers. It makes it easier.

Jeff:

We're gonna get back to that.

Anthony:

Go have my app.

Jeff:

Fuck you don't know we got Mikey sheet. That's a play off his first and last name. And then we have anonymous. AKA shall remain nameless. Remember when? Remember when when when Eminem had the beef with with Joe root? And he made the song he's like Don

Unknown:

nameless bitch die nameless.

Jeff:

My thing is like, who didn't have before gyro like what did God do to anybody? You know what's sad is the other day I decided to Google his net worth and he's worth like $4 million. But then when you Google 50 cents net worth. And he's worth like 50 million or some shit. You're like, Fuck, he won. He won that battle. He won that war.

Anthony:

50 might be worth way more than that. Because remember, like a bulk of his money came from that when that water filled? Yep. Yep, that's a lot. Yeah, he broke. Oh, man. I do want to talk about 50

Jeff:

But we're not done yet. Man. Come on a shot especially. And then last but not least, we got my man EJ do and I want to call him in DJ Skrill How does that sound?

Anthony:

It's groworks.

Jeff:

But what about stellar? What about scrilla? DJ scrilla

Anthony:

grillwork I like Yeah, we talked about with DJ dill,

Jeff:

aka DJ scrilla thank you for signing up. We appreciate you. Stay tuned. Hopefully you'll be a part of the family for years to come. Coach a crew get it? I was gonna say about 50 Man

Anthony:

What was it this happened a while ago what happened was fell something happened with one of the companies were no no, I think it is a brand that's branded company so my stole some money from and the do loss to civil suit. And like set it like fitting like letting go 50 decided to claim all of his assets and like took a picture. Like there's a white guy on my bed. And it was like, he posts things that I want you at my house by Monday. Like I'm taking your house. I'm taking your bank accounts and taking all the sheets I think I think it is thinking like the guy still six months from and that's exactly what he did. He said I want you at my house by Monday. I don't know why they should make me laugh. I'm like, Oh man, I've I've always appreciated his brand and petty I always had to learn

Jeff:

who was it that was on the barbershop with you it was yeah, you he was on with math. Haha. And you know math Hoffer asked him like, Yo, don't you get tired. Have you noticed drama with 50 all the time? Don't you get scared some time? Like, oh, maybe he's taking it too far. And yeah, he was like, Yo, this is 50 man. You can't show no emotions. You can't show no fear. Who gets you the fuck out of there, bro. You gotta be with him. Are you gonna be against them? That's the bottom line.

Anthony:

I'll read it real quick. 15 is planning to seize a man's property after winning$6.2 million lawsuit back in December, September of 2021. For defense, Sire spirits filed a lawsuit against a former director of brand management, accusing him taking $2.2 million and under the table kickbacks. And October 2022. The court found Grimm guilty of liability for dissent was awarded a 6.19 for judgment how a green has yet to pay up. On March 14, he filed for chapter seven bankruptcy according to court documents. Now for this planning to take the man's property in order to settle the debt. So they said on Wednesday said for the shins bloke who said I need you out my house by Wednesday. I think I'm going to put epoxy floors in this place. I'm going to keep him and his family pictures around. You know as a theme for the police. That's how petty is I want your house. I'm not gonna throw none of your shit out. I'm keeping pictures there as like a little monument to what it is. I've always liked the brand the petty that's cool the shit but it's allowed

Jeff:

you remember when he bought? Remember when he bought out gyros concert right? We bought like all those front row tickets. For no reason,

Anthony:

Jeff. He's petty. He's petty. He can't help it. He's petty. Like, like, gyro show is sold out. You bought every single seat and there's nobody there like no, I've appreciated his brand new Betty. That's Brandon petty I aspire to. That's cool. I like that shit.

Jeff:

But, man we took we took the week off last week. People were mad about that. So my focus was texting me like yo, where the fuck is the episode? I was like, damn, I bet yo, we got you this week told me to calm down. But the week before that we had a good episode it was we had miracle miracle Mike McHale long. And a lot of people liked that episode. Some people said it was one of the best episodes that we ever did.

Anthony:

I owe the old friend to tell you though, like we got a guest on the show some sense of humanity. It's always good. When he started self promoting Man, fuck them.

Jeff:

However, we did have some people once again that were upset that you had very little to say. And I'll read some comments from people that message me. And I'll explain. One of my patrons actually said, tell me he needs to stop being shy. I want to hear his questions and his perspectives to another. Another person. Another person said that Nick just said three words the whole time.

Anthony:

Yep. So well, one, there are some technical difficulties, too. Most importantly, that man had a very important story to say. And he was given a lot of information knowledge about his life in his career. It wasn't my place forward. And like, we talked about this before. I don't feel uncomfortable with anyone from that community. I think if they've got a story to tell, it's not my job to be a narrator or try to fix the shit or talk my way through it. Like not only to have a storyteller, you have a very interesting story to tell and something that a lot of people can learn from. And a lot of knowledge can be gained from it. And it's not one of those things where you're doing it just for the sake of doing it. You're doing it to try to understand to try to reach out to communities to build bridges to get a clearer understanding of the difficulties of being You know, HIV positive and being a LGBTQ person in America, they told us a very interesting perspective. And I'll even everything was like functional, right and anything like that there was no one's gonna cut it off because he was extremely good and very well spoken and telling the stories and getting everything clear. I'm like, Nah, man, this is your story to tell. And I'm gonna let you tell it. Like said you have everything functional, what's gonna interfere because there's just too good. And I'm glad people really liked it because he's a very interesting guest. He brought a very interesting perspective and I hope that people learn something from it.

Jeff:

No doubt, but it is Women's History Month. Queen Latifah was actually born on March March 18. Easter Queen you know Biggie and Craig Mack both died in March.

Anthony:

The cannabis law says great Red Bulls on that on March 9.

Jeff:

He's actually the owner and because of that lyric, big his death is the only one that I know like by memory like the actual date like I know POC died in September because he died six months before Biggie but I can't tell you September one.

Anthony:

Exactly. And then cannabis ended on second round knockout.

Jeff:

Yeah, he said you know the greatest rapper of all time died on March 9, God rest his soul. God bless his soul rest in peace kit is because of him Now at least I know what he fears. It's not what I would call it is this is something different. A factor and we're trying to make a living off of this and

Anthony:

I'm glad you added that the N word we we have some thoughts. We're gonna discuss that. Look at that segue.

Jeff:

That's good podcast gonna discuss the N word. Because this is a topic that I've steered away from on this show. Correct?

Anthony:

We're gonna we're gonna litigate the N word forever, but

Jeff:

and it comes on the wake of logic, rapper logic. being bashed for saying the N word. He posted a video of him and his dad. A lot of people don't know his dad has a black brother. His dad is black. He's a black man. So he's on the video with his dad and they talk and whatever and he says the N word right? Backlash like a motherfucker because logic is white as fuck. He looks White. Blue eyes looks like Eminem type shit, right? But he's biracial. Just like Drake is biracial. Just like Mariah Carey is biracial. You know, I mean, just like Derek Jeter is biracial. It just so happens that he's white. Some biracial people look black. I need to gonna say Jeter, I'm just naming all the biracial people that came to my head. I was gonna be there. So he got a lot of backlash. People don't think he should say even be even though he's biracial because he doesn't have black skin. Now, does Drake get a pass? He says it. He's biracial. He was raised by White Tiger mother.

Anthony:

Oh, man, do I gotta be the arbiter of racism again, you

Jeff:

have to because you're the you know, you're the black representative on the show.

Anthony:

Gotcha. I represent me I did not. Dress me. I am not part of black. Question

Jeff:

we're gonna pose in today's episode is who's allowed to say the N word. People talk about Fat Joe Fat Joe is Puerto Rican obviously. All says that show. He says it more than anybody I've ever I've ever seen an interview? Anybody? He says more than anybody, right? He's super white. He says he's Puerto Rican. Right? He says Puerto Ricans are allowed to say it because we you know, he grew up around blacks, whatever. Okay, I got a problem. The thing is, Dominicans and Puerto Ricans say it predominantly in mostly in the East Coast. New York, New Jersey tri state area. You go to other parts of the country, you don't really see Latinos saying it that much. You don't Mexicans don't really say like that, you know, I'm saying but again, and again, I've never addressed this on the show. I've never actually said the N word on this show. But as you and I know, I say it. I have said, I'm saying it less in real world. Right. Can you attest to that? But I've said it Ryan too. I'm trying. I grew up when I grew up in Passaic, New Jersey. Very diverse town. Everybody was fucking saying it in the boys was saying it. blacks, Latinos, we all grew up together. We was all saying that shit. I don't remember seeing. I don't remember hearing white boys saying it much. But it was Latinos, Indians and blacks. They knew better. They knew better. We were saying it. And to be honest with you, I didn't even really know that she was a problem until I became maybe like, maybe I was in high school. You know what I mean? A preteen a young adult. It was just a common word, a term of endearment. What, on my end, you know, I mean, as I got older, I realized you know that some people take offense to it. So I started seeing it less when I met you, and we had a discussion about it. And what did you tell him? You told me you didn't have a problem with me saying it, but you wanted me to be conscious of who I say it around, correct?

Anthony:

Exactly. Because, because you're gonna finish it somewhere. Are we gonna get the fucking fighting? No one you didn't mean in that context, but someone's gonna take it the wrong way. You're gonna see the sheet somewhere and we'd have to get the rumbling and I'm gonna be mad at you because I'm too goddamn Oh, you're here fighting. Period. Right?

Jeff:

Stressful in my everyday life, especially now that I have a son. I don't want him in my league and everything I say. So I'm saying unless I try not to say you

Anthony:

already do Thank God. Thank thank God already do Emily's. He let me guess he's wearing a wife beater right now.

Jeff:

He's He's a twin. He's my twin exactly.

Anthony:

I want to put a put a T on like Daddy and wear slides and shorts. Like you got it. You gotta both you got this.

Jeff:

But again, like I said, in the spirit of not offending people and you know, knowing my place. I felt like okay, only white people can say it. Right. I've you know, I've said okay, well, I've always been an advocate of saying that Puerto Ricans and Dominicans were black were half African by root. I even have I even wrote a piece about that shit up on a website. On the blog. You didn't coach at that one. And you know, but again, I've heard a lot of different opinions on it. Some black people don't even say it themselves. A lot of people a lot of black people have told me that only black people can say it like if you're skinning dark. They don't want to hear you saying the shit. Which poses another question altogether like is that colorism? Yeah, it is. That might be colorism. But let's stick to the topic who is allowed to say the N word. Like we know Caucasian people can't say it if you're just white if you're Caucasian or Italian, Irish polish. There's no African in you there's no Latino and you you will you're automatically disqualified from saying it. Is that correct?

Anthony:

It should be it I think it's become a one of zero sum things. It has to be either everybody or nobody. Because like you said, we kind of deal with a greater middle of it. Like how do you handle it? It's not easy. Like, okay, like, for example, let's just take the two people you talked about drink says it all the time drink light and the motherfucker drink want to be a bad bit so bad. You got a grin our hand with a duck lips and his little clean braids and all this other shit and everything else like that. Not the heart on his hair clearly seeing his father. Yep, and seeing his father walk around Chris, like a pimp ain't really helping you. Fat Joe, is somebody from the area from the culture from the neighborhood, surrounded himself by people of Hispanic descent and African American descent pretty much his entire life. So it's almost on a case by case basis. It's like, if you got to ask if something is something than it probably isn't, like, if you gotta ask someone if you love them, you probably don't because you kind of just know, like, you got to kind of read the room and just like know these things, like you, man, you say nigger more than anyone says nigger, and I'm gonna get in this negative sneaker way more than I do. And I've been like God, Lee, pull, pull back and that break a little bit and Yang got said that much. I don't say that much of him. And it kind of comes and goes. I look. I'm not judging you, motherfucker. I'm telling you what it is. You just jumped over. I don't calm down.

Jeff:

Did anybody like come before them?

Anthony:

I don't stop and like white people. Like I don't Yes, you do. This you do. Like white people say I've never said it. Yes, you have. Maybe not in the presence of another black person. But you said that we all have our biases. We all have these dangerous, hurtful deadly birds that we say about other ethnicities, and races, whether it's nigger, chink cake, spek Daigo, whatever we all have either heard it or set it at some point of our lives. Now we can choose to deny that conditioning but we kind of move forward. Most of the time when people see like some kind of ethnic slurs and stuff like that. It's usually like something's upset them they're angry, they don't really like just say, like out and out. And it's just kind of racist to that degree. The truth of the matter is, that word is a trick bag all unto itself. Because you can go with the whole idea like well, we're, we can say this and do this because we use it as a term of endearment. I see your reasoning is like, it's like, you shouldn't really call a woman, a bitch. But women call each other bitches like that kind of thing. Like within present company and depending on the mood, you can use a particular type of vernacular. Fair enough. But that word itself, you know what it is? It's not necessarily the word. It's the intent, the context and the sound of it. Because you know when someone is saying To you, it's almost like hear the difference between like a Dominican speaking Spanish and Mexican speaking Spanish. There are certain little tics in the dialect that makes it real clear that they mean this and that that. So how someone says it, it's way more important than what's being said. Because I can tell, like from inflection in your voice, what kind of niggle you're trying to say? Is it a good term of endearment? One? Is it the mad one? Or is it you know, the heart are racing, that's

Jeff:

not just the thing. I always, I always understood that the hard R was off limits, right? And that the ah was the term of endearment.

Anthony:

Right? But But basketball, you got to play that game, right?

Jeff:

But that's the thing. The N word is going to be an unsolved mystery, I think ever. Who can say who can not say it? Who gets a pass? For example, speaking of who gets a pass, does somebody like Eminem get a pat like we know for a fact he says that shit, right? He doesn't say it in public. He doesn't say it in his music. But you know, he says that shit when he's around his boys, right? Like, come

Anthony:

on. But But I said, somewhere along the line, we all mentioned some type of ethnic slur one way or the other.

Jeff:

You know, he says that should around Royce five, nine around 50 cent around D 12. You know, he says that shouldn't conversation. And there's this video footage of him saying it in concert with Dre when he's singing the lyrics to Dre songs as you know, he's been his height man. And he'll say the word you can use to that.

Anthony:

I don't like it. And like I said, when I said before about inflection and intent. Like that's context like it's in the song so I can go ahead, and it's why I've always hated party by DMX. I've always hated that song. Because it's a part where, like, I've been to like office parties, and they put this you know, because it's like, it's, it's like, like, white people's like, DMX jam, like it can't vibe, nothing else. But it could vibe to that you look around and always kind of scan the room. But when that part comes in, like who gonna say it? and who not? And even when they said, I don't get mad, like, because you're saying it in the context of the song. I understand. I clearly do. But

Jeff:

but if you're a good DJ, you work around that part. You scratch on that part, or you skip you don't man.

Anthony:

Kind of but it always makes me wonder like, now if this party was more diverse? Would you say that? Like if you want to present, like more black people? Would you mention it? And I honestly think no, it's weird how like that word makes people more self conscious about things that go on, like, like, and that's the point you're trying to make and kind of trying to make an A for you. People understand it. People know the context, they know how and when to use it. They know, if you play a party up with a majority white crowd, you can probably get away with saying it because it's just y'all, you make it 5050 of you could pick any other ethnicity, you could Hispanic, Black, Asian, whatever. I'm pretty sure to be real careful about how they say that. Because they see when they're in the presence of we do a lot of shooting, the doctor don't want to come to light. And that's kind of like one of those things. Now, I think the issue with logic is that he's a talented rapper, but people just don't see him as being a part of the culture itself. So therefore, they don't give a pass. And it doesn't help that he really does look like a nerdy white kid. It really doesn't help. Now, if logic had more African American features, because you wouldn't even guess that largest part of black and white. No, actually,

Jeff:

I told you, I think I said it on here. The first time I heard him say it on a song. I was tripping. I was like, What, wait a minute. And then I had to start Googling him. And I'm like, why is he saying that word?

Anthony:

Right. And I would I think, you know what it is, like I said, because he's he's a good rapper. And I think that if he was like, that level of popularity, you could probably say it and let it pass. But again, this is a conversation between him and his father, like, I mean, it was recorded, but I mean, we're not privy to that kind of shit. Because it's, we can't judge them on something that he says in private, because we see a lot of things in private, that we're never going to say in public. And if people actually heard the comments that people hadn't private publicly, we probably start, you know, Civil War Two. Because it's a lot of hateful, demeaning shit that we say behind closed doors. That shouldn't come to light. And like I said, and like I said, it was like he said, on the record, it's a toggle between him and his dad. And the way that he said it, like, it seemed like he said it to him before like, it's nothing new. Like yeah, like this is I get down and that's fine, but you can't like judge logic for saying that or whatever. When that's his conversation with his dad. If his father black man who's sitting right in front of him is not offended by you probably shouldn't be either. But you put these things upon logic, it's like, well, you know, he looks like that he shouldn't See that a sound like that's one of the four people like getting people say things like that to each other all the time. But you got to take it within the context of what it is, like I said, Women culture the pitches all the time. And that's between them. And that's their social circle and what they do. If anyone outside of that tries to do it, there's going to be problems. This isn't a big problem logic. But again, like I started off the word itself, it's just troublesome, it's hard to fit it in its proper way when it's so fitting a certain things like you want to talk about it. But it's like, you can't really have an honest conversation about it, because people don't want to talk about the word. This one talk about the ownership of it, like no one wants to own a word you don't. That's why it's a dictionary, you can look up words and see what they mean. And they have meaning behind it. This just has multiple connotations of multiple meanings in regards to like said, and they all really come down to what context we're using it, we're using it who uses a wit. So can we do something about the Word? Sure, but I don't know. But are

Jeff:

we giving the word too much power? And I'm saying over people, like, are we giving a word, too much power like that, that somebody can come up to you say the word, and really piss you off to the point where you want to kill somebody? Like, I don't think any word should have that much power. But at the same time, I can understand being offended by certain people saying it. But like I said, That's what I say is going to be an issue where it's going to be forever, an unsolved mystery. Because it depends what part of the world you come from, what region you from, where you grew up in Utah. I mean, if you grew up in the hood around all blacks, like Fat Joe did, like Eminem did and chances are, you're going to be saying it all your life. If all your homeboys everybody said it. You don't I mean, if you grew up in Ohio, in a white neighborhood, and all of a sudden you start saying it that might be viewed differently. So I don't think there's any there's no there's no answer to the shit. Like I said, I know blacks that get offended by it by the word of no use it. And I don't know blacks, I don't use it, you use the shit.

Anthony:

Right? But it's the dichotomy of it. Because you said, We're shouldn't have that much power. But words themselves are powerful. Words can words can create, it can grow, and it can develop it can. Words can change, the world

Jeff:

can uplift, they can work down.

Anthony:

Correct. So it's hard to say like, they shouldn't have too much power. The words themselves are powerful. Every Sunday, there's someone sitting in front of a pupil telling people the Word of God, and it's, you know, making this powerful impact on their life. But there's also people out there using the same word for the most negative, dangerous, hateful things you can possibly do, whether it's for the LGBTQ community, that whether it's for black people or like, again, like people like disregarding words, like getting, like, was thinking Florida, when they're trying to like, not teach about slavery. You're eliminating words, you're eliminating history. So it's, it's tricky. And I don't think there is a right answer or wrong answer to it. I believe that what people have to understand more than anything else in the world is context. How is this word being used? And where is this word being used? My thing is that if a white person called me a nigger wouldn't bother me. And always tell people No, and they never believed the heart with the heart or like, with the heart, and they, I tell people that they never believe me. They like, Oh, you're gonna fucking upset I'm not going to do that. Like why they called your nigger. I said, See, that's the thing. If they would, if they know me, like, they think they know me, they wouldn't call me that they're calling me that, because they don't know me. And if you don't know me, I don't have the time and into the kind of waste that shit upon you. You can call me that. And I'm gonna keep on walking. If you touch me to different stores, where you can call me that I'm just not gonna respond anything else. Like, that's not what I am. That's not who I am. That's how you decided to choose to define yourself for me. And I don't need to respond to that. I don't need to react to that. So you don't need to react to the word. I don't think every time it said that. You need to react to it. The whole logic thing came about have a private conversation of the quarter clean him his dad, he said the word. He might have said that shit to his father 100 times before them. The only thing that happened to it wasn't recorded, therefore it doesn't become an issue. And that guy isn't that popular. Let's say a guy like Post Malone says it was extremely popular. But it's not. He's in the culture, but not of the culture, I guess you could say, because he's going a completely different route. But no. Some people fuck with him like that. Does it become a big thing? Probably because of the magnitude of a startup. But will it blow away pretty quick? Yeah. Because of the magnitude of a startup. Like I said, it's context is how it goes, and how these things happen, and so on, so forth like that. It doesn't become a big conversation until someone really, really, really, really big says it like, let's say Taylor Swift says it well. I don't know if Taylor Swift said it, but she probably did. And I said, that's no offense to her. Like I said, we take a lot of things in private that we do not say in public. The public said, if someone of her stature gets called saying it, then it becomes a conversation about who gets to use it and not because like I said, She's purely white. She's purely country, Jesus, this girl that you know, especially part of the night that beehive you definitely don't have any qualms about Taylor Swift, especially your fan economy, you definitely don't have any kind of issue with her. You just don't like her. So she says it, it becomes a national discussion, we say it really doesn't. Because people really don't care like that. But you got to be able to manage it. More than anything else in the world. The thing that comes to mind is that you have to be able to know what context where to use it and how to use it. But to just say it's a willy nilly. So people get teeth missing,

Jeff:

can somebody be canceled for saying it? Like we've heard fucking hope we make fun of Hulk Hogan, he said it. You know, he went away for a little bit and he's back. He's, you know, we've heard Vince McMahon say the shit on live air. And he's a fucking billionaire. Oh,

Anthony:

we got a spit nigger. Like, he was like he was DJ to some shit. Like he was letting it fly. But again, and again that they will Hulk Hogan, that was a private conversation that somebody recorded make it okay,

Jeff:

though, they said it. Even if you're illegally recorded, like the guy from the NBA, like the NBA owner that was forced to sell his team. And private and private says some racist shit in private. They forced him to sell the team, okay, and he's gone. With all his billions of dollars.

Anthony:

Because the thing with Donald Sterling is that if Donald Sterling was a likable guy, they probably wouldn't be able to blow by that. He's had a history of like, cuz his his, like, his money is millions upon billions came from real estate. And he's had a lot of lawsuits, I believe over the years for like, Richard, discrimination, like the property he's owned. So having that pass, and that kind of sorted history to go along with it, made it kind of easy for them. Because like, it was a one time thing. Sure. But if you've had a history of racial discrimination over decades, like it's hard for me to think that, you know, you're not racist when you're doing this. And then thinking about Magic Johnson and some shit like that, whatever. It's, it kind of becomes clear cut, even though it's not. And I still think he should have been, you know, no, let go because of a private conversation. But the truth of the matter is, like you got caught, you got a history of this. So therefore, it made it easier for you to get rid of not like it was a hard choice. But I mean, how do you deal with it? You really don't? Like I said, my answer really is like, if you're going to use it, I advise you use it in Private Advisor, make sure everybody got their microphones off. Do it in a company that you keep that knows that you can kind of work around this word. And I think it's not even the word. I think it's the ability, or people's inability to really have a discussion around it. Like, how does it really affect you? How does it hurt you? And what does it mean to you? Does it mean I'm going to stop using it? No, but I understand. Now that you've explained your point to me, I know that I won't use this. And you're kind of in your vicinity. I guess kids kind of like when people try not to curse around kids. Like you don't want to but sometimes it slips but you try to avoid it because you want to help them develop a different path. Same thing, we use any kind of like epithets, anything else like that you want to be really particular. But you know that there's an audience for it. And within that audience of random people, you can probably say, if you can't trust me, they're going to let you know. But that's the importance of it. That's the danger of it in the same time, too. But, again, it's not necessarily the word just understanding what context really means and how to use that and establish that property. For free Fat Joe, probably cool. For logic, probably not. And it's really got to ask why it's good for one and not good for the other. You really don't quite fully understand that word.

Jeff:

So the answer is probably who's allowed to say the N word. Technically nobody

Anthony:

can technically everybody. Correct? That I told you it's a zero sum result is going to be all or none. But the thing is that like whatever we ban alcohol during Prohibition, that didn't get people to stop drinking they just found a way to drink it in private. You try to ban the word people are going to maybe stop saying it here but can't deny the right to kind of see and do whatever you want to especially that you put shit in the constitution so they're gonna steal said I survived you be careful where you say it, because with some people, you might get a laugh. Other people, you're gonna get a beat down. That's how to worry ghosts.

Jeff:

Like Eminem said on the song Sing for the moment, and said, words can be great words can be great but even worse worse can teach hate. Yo real quick your thoughts on Takashi six nine getting jump at the fucking gym?

Anthony:

They will that boy's eyes kind of had that when it comes to

Jeff:

yo they left his as looking like Martin you remember that episode of Martin when he fought Tommy Hearns coming here and got back to the apartment lumped up his head was swollen. That's how they left his man looking bro. Go look up the picture. That's how Takashi look. He looked at all lumped up.

Anthony:

I didn't I didn't like it because it was a setup. Like it wasn't organic. Because when he showed the video the three guys coming into the gym like they it's not like they warmed up and went to the wait, they made a beeline right towards the locker room. So someone there said that he was there Right. Called the homies and then the homies came through. And A Beat ship. My whole thing is like this whole idea of street justice is kind of silly to me. Like a when I was claiming that shit but when you sit in a small little room and they don't 45 years that you that point of finger get real strong. You just start him him. Him there. Yep, that was the gun. Yep. Bring them to the Big Mac come on through. Yep, he was right digging to sign the paperwork man. Like everybody needs to crash he wasn't bought that gang shit and into Kashi right into Kashi with the jail and the caucus still been out here talking reckless. The problem is that you do that you can do that a lot when you're sort of like surrounded by a bunch of big ass security guards. When he just you know overhead just trying to you know, max out your reps on the bench press machine trying to have enough use a little workout in the gym is also going to lock room into stopping him beating the dogs Yeah, do you? I don't think he signed up for that that day but karmically kind of had actually come from Wow, man. You can't keep moving why do

Jeff:

they gotta record it? Don't come why they gotta record this shit. Because not even one focus might get charged was with assault and shit.

Anthony:

The funny thing is that those gentlemen are going to spend more time in jail than Takashi did facts you know he already worked at the COP that's the that's the irony like that man did a year younger way more than a year

Jeff:

he got to the point and he got me into court pointing them right out that's them Your Honor. That was them right there.

Anthony:

But like that's the problem is generation my like it is time growing up without seeing involved in a bunch of fights and shit like that. It was a bunch of shit. I did the one thing out there wasn't a fucking camcorder. I don't understand why why y'all film your double part is that you film your crimes and then like you go to court. Like we Your Honor, we don't need to like walk through the ship. This is this gentleman right here. That's his face right there. That's the gun on the phone that his friend carry that he recorded. Why are we wasting the public's money going through this trial? Shit. He's obviously it's a guilty like we're never gonna take a plea deal on it's like the students obvious. they film the crime. They all film the crime. For what reason I don't for clout to show somebody some shit. That's not some this shit. If you're supposed to be in the streets with some gangster, you don't do that. You do your shit. And quiet peacefully. Quietly, we're gonna probably

Jeff:

have a whole episode on why does this generation film their crimes?

Anthony:

Because they lonely than a motherfucker. That's why they got no purpose in life. They don't know what they're doing. They film that, you know, we felt that the path towards freedom or financial freedom was going to college to generation for us, it was going to the army or going to the armed services. The generation before that. We're just good old fashioned hard work. These motherfuckers want to take the shortcut, like difficulty just enough to get viral just enough I can make money. It's fleeting. It's not a game plan. It's not, you know, in 3040 years, it's going to suck because we're missing a whole generation of talented artists and like, just amazing people. Because instead of putting the town's to good use, they want to go viral. Like we have an entire generation influenced by influencers, influencers that that sounds stupid coming out of my mouth, like you don't bring anything to the table besides influencing. Like you don't change the world, or anything like that. And that's what this shit is with Takashi again. He's not a good rapper. He never was. He was just the Spanish kid with colorful hair. And it was a gimmick that he wanted to be on some gangs ship. Then he wanted to be on some snitch ship. He wanted to be on some jail shit. Then he comes back out and it's not like he went through that whole process and came out humbled He came up more like emboldened to do the same shit he did before because it's profitable. That's the fucked up part. And that's why he ended up in situation. I'm not happy that he got jumped. I think it's a bit shit. I think if you got a problem with me, we can square up. I know three y'all y'all gotta jump me. If your first boy when I kind of had that one come in, if I lay him out the next one up cool. But this whole, him being pretty much an extreme lack of talent to be important enough that we actually have to talk about him is kind of the baby in his generation. Like, none of you motherfuckers are doing shit. But we got to talk about you because you got some kind of influence over the culture but you don't deserve in the first place. But this is where we are. And that like said that that whole thing, that it's just an amalgamation of everything that's kind of wrong with society and with hip hop itself. That boy should not have been famous enough to be jumped. I can't put into something that y'all should not have allowed him and all his antics and all his bullshit to be famous enough to get jumped to be recorded that it actually fucking matter. But we allowed to get to that point because he entertained us and the fact is, like say karmically, he kind of had to shit coming, but we got to do better. This is gonna be the way the world this ain't this, ain't it boss, but there's some room this evening.

Jeff:

Some of the rumors going around online was that it was it was a bunch of Puerto Ricans that were mad because the cashier was at one of the WBC baseball games. When Mexico beat Puerto Rico, whatever. And he was out there talking shit. Mexico was playing Puerto Rico. He was in the stands talking shit yelling, you know, heckling the Puerto Ricans or whatever. I don't know how much truth there is to that. But I can see some Puerto Ricans finding him and being mad about that shouldn't be like fuck that.

Anthony:

You've been a baseball game before right? The Yankees can beat up on other fans.

Jeff:

I mean, it has happened but it's not typical. We heckle a lot though. You'd be in the bleachers Heckerling? Yes, you have the other team's jersey on some shit will heckle the shit out of you.

Anthony:

You're not like Philly? No, Philly, they fight? Yeah. Like I said, I've been to one Philly Giants game. And uh, well, my giants really probably like I did when he bought the focus, do some shit. It's a lot of talking and a lot of yapping. But it was, it was some fights like as 434 or five from the parking lot to the to the stadium because that's just how it is like to seem so unnecessary. And the fact that if you don't beat him up over if you're Beat that man up over a game that no one gives a shit about that doesn't make any impact on actually baseball itself or even your actual fucking life. That she got mad for person talking shit that we were going to plot and plan to beat the shit out of you. And a 24 hour fitness or whatever the fuck it is. Yeah, deserved to go to jail just for stupidity. Seriously, like, No, I don't I don't care how strong my connection is to my nationality. There's no fucking way I'm going to beat somebody up just because, you know, they said some about the baseball team. Whatever. That's dumb. I hope that's not true, but it wouldn't surprise me. People got beaten the fuck up for less. The World Baseball Classic. Gotta go to jail for the World Baseball Classic knocking the fuck off. Go to jail. Do not pass. Go do not click $20 Oh, Lord. I'm sick of all these people. Every single one. That's dumb as hell. And like I said, that boy. Ain't the brightest. He wouldn't dare start snitching. And I mean to tell me, he didn't duck, all the stack and all these problems that came his way. But the thing that finally got his ass kicked was a baseball game. That is the most Hispanic shit I could possibly think of. Y'all take baseball and tie it to fucking seriously, we don't like you. You do? And like I said, as much as I love you. It doesn't make sense to watch 162 fucking game for the Yankees. Trust me. You got better shit to do it like I promise you. That's better. It's a hardest 62 fucking game. There's 52 weeks in 162 games and it's 365 days in a year so it's what is baseball? What? A third of your year shit,

Jeff:

man. Well, you

Anthony:

bet bet pick up a book

Jeff:

like Happy Women's History Month.
