Become the Most Generous Person You Know
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Each day you receive a gift: the chance to show kindness to others. To neglect this present is to misuse your days.
This year, become the most generous person you know and watch your life shift vastly. Buy the kitchen staff an excellent bottle of wine after your next great meal. Invite the taxi driver you have a brilliant conversation with in a foreign city out to coffee. Help people on busy streets. Just start seeing yourself as a merchant of wow. Generosity is the antidote to scarcity. And the one who gives the most wins.
This is what my latest book The Wealth Money Can’t Buy is all about. Real wealth versus fake success. True winning versus spending your life climbing a mountain, only to find out at the end that it was the wrong one. You can order it now by clicking here.

Add to your generosity toolkit the wonderful method of anonymous giving. It could be to a charity that you love. For me, I'm on a mission to help children suffering from leprosy live richer lives. Your giving could be to a homeless person. You go out and buy a meal and you leave the food there and you do it quietly. There are so many ways when you really think about it to practice anonymous generosity. And the more you do it... the more you are going to scale this eighth form of wealth, which is service. Make people smile each and every day. In The Wealth Money Can't Buy, I shared the experience that I had with the former center of the Los Angeles Lakers, who was at one of my live events, Pau Gasol. And he was with me all weekend, and then I drove him to the airport. And as we walked through the airport to his gate, so many people came to him for pictures. Kids came for pictures or autographs. Other people came for just to share a word with him. Oh, you've inspired me. Oh, I love the way you play, et cetera, etcetera. And as we walked through the airport, I'll never forget this, but to each and every single person who came to Pau Gasol, he had the time. He smiled. He listened. He asked a few questions. He had time for every single one of them. And when we got tothe gate, I said, pal, that was amazing. You stopped for every single person who approached you. You were so gracious. You were so kind. Tell me about it.And he said something I will never forget. He said, Robin, it takes so little to make someone happy. It takes so little to make someone happy. I want you to brain tattoo that. I want you to think about this tool making people smile. It takes so little to slow down and have a conversation with a coworker, of course with a family member, could be a stranger or a neighbor, and you just have a human connection in this world of people moving so quickly. And you consciously make an effort in every interaction to make someone smile? Wouldn't that be a great way to roll through the rest of your rich and long life? And that brings us to the final tool, which is another powerful method to significantly accelerate and maximize the eighth form of wealth in your life, which is service. And that is to give tiny gifts. Give tinygifts. What do I mean by give tiny gifts? Well, you can give big gifts, but tiny gifts are often very powerful. It could be a single rose. It could be a genuine compliment. It could be you're going to the cafe and you pick up another cup of coffee and you give it to someone. It could be you're in your favorite bookstore and you buy another copy of your favorite book to reread it again, but you buy another copyto give to a stranger on the street. This gets really, really fun, but I want you to be a master of giving tiny gifts. And the more you doit on a consistent basis, the more you're going to be so great on this final and eighth form of wealth of service. And as I mentioned, it's a gift you're going to give to the people who receive it, and it sure is going to be an amazing gift to give to yourself and to your joy and to your happiness, to your inner peace and your true power.
