Be Happy to See Live People
I was in a faraway land for a series of leadership presentations when I noticed that the gentleman who was driving me to the sessions would be flooded with glee each time he saw another human being.
“You really seem to like people,” I observed.
“I’ve seen a lot of dead people,” he replied. “So when I see a live person it makes me very happy.”
Just imagine how our days would look if we adopted his mentality.
Coming to life every time we spotted life. And recognizing the reality that when a human being intersects our lives we have received a blessing. From The Gods of Good Fortune.
This is what my latest book The Wealth Money Can’t Buy is all about. Real wealth versus fake success. True winning versus spending your life climbing a mountain, only to find out at the end that it was the wrong one. You can order it now by clicking here.

Whether it is your romantic partner, whether it is a child, whether it is your doggy, whether it is a flower, whether it is a coworker, whether it is a stranger on the street, please train yourself because it is a practice. We get great at the things we practice. Train yourself to make sure the first greeting of the day is a kind one. That will set your day off on an amazing tone, especially at work, starting your day off with a great greeting, a positive greeting to whoever it is. Hey, nice to see you. I wish you an amazing day. Here where I'm staying in this faraway land, when I see someone, I look at them in their eyes and I greet them with a smile on my face. It makes me think of someone. I was once in this country giving a series of presentations and there was a wonderful gentleman who was driving me from event to event. And I looked at him and I said to him, go, you know, find it very interesting every time you see someone you light up. Your eyes come alive, you're smiling, you feel really happy. And he paused for a while and he said, Robin, you know, in my life I've seen a lot of dead people. And so when I see a live person, it makes me happy. It's not a bad way to roll through life, isn't it? In India, they clasp their palms together and they say namaste. And as you know, namaste is not just a hello, it's I honor the divine within you. Imagine whether physically we did namaste or even metaphorically. When we saw another human being at the beginning of her day, we thought to ourselves, I honor the best within you, because none of us are perfect. We have light, we have darkness, we have strengths, we have weaknesses.
