Show Notes

Today’s question is: How do things change when we define a child by their strengths rather than their diagnoses or challenges?

I’m in conversation with Fareeha Amber Sadiq.

Dr Fareeha Amber Sadiq also known as Dr Amber is a  consultant child and family psychiatrist, systemic practitioner, writer, educator and transformation lead.

Dr Amber has been working hard throughout her career to help create a voice and space for children and families who are experiencing mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties or diagnoses.

She strives to improve services and care for children and families she is working with. She committed to help communities understand more about mental health challenges in children, young people and families.

As a doctor and clinician, Dr Amber has worked across the world setting up and developing Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and believes that every child and family is unique, important and can thrive if given the opportunity and the tools they require.

Dr Amber is a consultant to the National Health Service (NHS) in East London and is also founder of Eleos clinic which is a private multi-disciplinary mental health service with compassion at the heart of its values. Amongst other interests, she sits on the Expert Reference Group for Staying Safe from suicidal thoughts and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
