TONY WINTON is a veteran journalist and the founder of the Key Biscayne Independent and the president of the parent nonprofit, Miami Fourth Estate. He worked for three decades for The Associated Press, covering wars, disasters, presidential campaigns, and the space program.  He is the winner of multiple Edward R. Murrow awards. 

A graduate of Columbia College, he studied meteorology before going into journalism.
