The Hitchhiker is a radio drama written by Lucille Fletcher. It was first broadcast in 1941 on 'The Orson Welles Show,' on CBS radio. The music for The Hitchhiker was written by Lucille’s husband, Bernard Herrmann. Lucille and Bernard were rock stars of suspense radio in the 1940's. The voice actor for this drama is a 23-year-old Orson Welles.
The Hitchhiker is considered an all-time classic of suspense and has been retold many times in film, radio and graphic novel form. Listen now.
