Show Notes

For established languages (such as Greek, Italian, Turkish, etc.) clients with limited linguistic mastery are under the wrong impression that they don't require interpreting services as they can get by. A lot of the clinicians are under the same mistaken impression (as long as someone can tell them their name, nods, says 'Yes' and 'Thank you') and this creates obstacles in the provision of language services. You will never know the difference between getting by and using the services of an appropriately qualified and competent professional interpreter, which is of course, up until you use such services as you should. Now and with the added complexity of a pandemic, there is a tendency for interlingual communication to be reduced to a bare minimum due to both necessity and convenience. However, this very misinformed attitude has far reaching ramifications to the complete, accurate and effective communication and is a concern for all stakeholders in the industry.

Your interest and support is greatly appreciated and we hope you will join us for our events throughout 2020 and onwards.
